(As in, do you have two computers set up? Or are your trying to see yourself on the same computer)trying to see myself on the same computerQuote trying to see myself on the same computerThis is probably the problem. Solve : Outlook Express is downloading my attachments?? |
|
Answer» I have received a spyware attachment, it has been sent to my junk mail folder automatically. Just to be sure, do you really mean Outlook Express or do you mean Outlook? Outlook Express does not, in it's standard folder configuration, have a "junk mail" folder. Its standard folders are Inbox, Outbox, Send Items, Deleted Items, and Drafts. Its Outlook Express....Why wouldn't OE download the attachment? I think the question you should be asking is, why didn't your AV program catch it before your computer got infected?Quote Why wouldn't OE download the attachment? I think the question you should be asking is, why didn't your AV program catch it before your computer got infected? No no no.... It caught the spyware before it could do anything. It should download it, I don't have it set to.zylstra555.......Your post is a bit confusing ........ you say Quote clicked on the email to see what it was, and my AV scanner showed that my computer had been infected with a PUP.and then you say ..... Quote No no no.... It caught the spyware before it could do anything. So the question is ....... was it infected or not ? and if that wasnt confusing enough , you say .......... Quote I have received a spyware attachment, it has been sent to my junk mail folder automatically...... Outlook Express does not have a "Junk" folder ......... only ...... INBOX, OUTBOX, SENT ITEMS , DELETED ITEMS and last but not least DRAFTS ....... ( I believe soybean has already pointed this out to you . Are you sure you havent ROUTED your hotmail through Outlook Express , as it does have a "Junk" mail folder . dl65 Quote QuoteDid you leave the word not out of that last sentence? Why wouldn't OE download the attachment? I think the question you should be asking is, why didn't your AV program catch it before your computer got infected? No no no.... dl65 has said exactly why your comments are confusing. Anyway, I'll try to state what I think you intended to say. In OE, Tools, Options, Security, you have a check in the box for "Do not allow ATTACHMENTS ... that could potentially be a virus." Is that right? And, OE still allowed an attachment to come through. Is that right? I don't KNOW whether that setting in OE Security is supposed to stop ALL attachments or whether it just applies some screening criteria to all attachments, meaning ones that pass the test would be allowed to come through. Regardless of exactly what that setting is supposed to do and what AV software your're using, there's a lesson to be learned here. Never open attachments whose source and purpose you do not know.Quote QuoteOk. Ok...QuoteDid you leave the word not out of that last sentence? Why wouldn't OE download the attachment? I think the question you should be asking is, why didn't your AV program catch it before your computer got infected? No no no.... I have a "BULK Mail" folder. I have MSN Premium, and I am using Outlook Express to check my email. The spyware attachment was detected the minute OE downloaded it. I did not download it. I am wondering why OE somehow downloaded it. My AV scanner scanned the file on entering the memory (it scans all files) and stopped it, and allowed me to remove it. It that more clear now? 700 POST COUNT! My rank is now "ADVISOR"Is that you Flame? |

Answer» Must have missed the memo again. As I recall, when Nathan assigned the original mods it was done on the basis of who showed an interest or who Nathan thought was suited for the job. When did this call for NEW mods go out? Is there anything going on that requires the need for more mods? Is there a moderator wannabe list? When did becoming a MOD morph into a popularity contest? it was done on the basis of who showed an interest or who Nathan thought was suited for the job.But Nathan is barely around (if at all): Quote Last Online:05th Jun 2006 at 22:30:28*Last Post:05th Jun 2006 at 22:30:28*Last PM:19th May 2006 at 21:13:10*Quote Nathan is the administrator, let him administrate.I wish he would!Fair enough, but there are many members who are READING the threads starting from the most recent page and may think they have missed something. 8-) Edit: This post was in response to Panboy not RobI certainly was not calling for more mods, except Rob, who is a shoe in. We certainly don't need more (except Rob) and those of us who have been around for a while remember why there are any to BEGIN with. Solve : Bootable DVD? |
|
Answer» i am attempting to install Fedora Core 5 ONTO my second computer so i downloaded the DVD ISO file, i have nero and am trying to use that to MAKE a BOOTABLE disk... each time i restart my computer it never asks to boot from CD, i have checked to ensure it does check the CD prior to the hard drive. Do you have to specially configure the DVD drive to boot from that.... can anyone help out.. THANKSYOU have to burn it as an ISO. You cannot just copy the file. If you do it will NOT be bootable, as you've found. I always suggest burning at a slow speed (like 4x) for operating systems.I have attempted to use NERO to burn it as an ISO file... any idea how to do this.... or if there is a better way...Assuming the download is good, it is easily done with Nero. How are you doing this? YOu can choose CD or DVD in the top right corner, then choose the icon for Copy and Backup and choose burn image to disc. |

You see i don't have two different Local Disks i mean like installed or putted in the computer... but after i installed win 98 on my computer appeared two local disks one C: the main and ANOTHER D:.... so i want to know what should i do so i could make these two local disks as one kuz it shows that i have like no free space at all on it... Ok i don't really care now about the passwords kuz i need to find out how to make two local disks work as one... You see i don't have two different Local Disks i mean like installed or putted in the computer... but after i installed win 98 on my computer appeared two local disks one C: the main and another D:.... so i want to know what should i do so i could make these two local disks as one kuz it shows that i have like no free space at all on it...Are you willing to loose data? Its possible that your disk was partitioned for multiple OS installation. You could delete one of the PARTITIONS, and then it will be part of the other partition again. But this could result in loss of data, on both partitions..... well what kind of stuff i could like lose... it's just if i lose windows stuff... i don't THINK my computer will work.... will it? but anyway... what should i do to make one real local disk and one not real local disk work as one???...Zylstra, make this thread your personal project! Well, hmm.... I don't know much about FDISK, but I do know enough about FIPS. Download FIPS. (You will need to do a Google search, because the FIPS FTP server appears to be down..) FIPS should allow you to delete a partition, and merge it into the main partition. The only problem is this: The partition you delete will loose all the data that was on it. Be sure to make a backup..... EG: If you delete D:\ which had 100GB, then D:\ will have the data destroyed, and D:\'s space will become C:\. If C:\ was 10GB, and D:\ was 100GB, then C:\ would become 110GB. (excluding the confusing mathematical calculation of a bit/byte and its real value) If you delete C:\, then D:\ will become C:\ instead. Figure out what drive you want to keep, then use FIPS to delete the other. Note: FIPS should contain the following files....
*This file may or may not be included...thanx well i fixed the problem.... now it's all cool.... Thanx again...We're all CURIOUS. Exactly how did you fix it and what did you end up with?well i went to MS dos program then putted those two different drivers together and then just installed win 98 and after that i installed xp...Clear as can be. Thanks.Quote Clear as can be. Thanks. You are wicked. |

Solve : tradeWIN computers? |
|
Answer» hi all, hi gx1, What is the Optiplex model number and/or Service Tag? I don't understand what you are saying in your post at all. It won't run on this machine or the other. Take your time and type a lot of words and cover all the details. Any other issues?well, for one thing, its not the best thing to be running XP pro on a pentium III, or anything below a pentium four for that matter (unless you can find a 1.0ghz celeron, or PIII)sorry gx1, this machine is an optiplex gx150 from dell it has a pentium III with 512mbs memory at 133mhz so its says runningxp pro with sp2 . i use this comp to get what i need to put on other comps that i am trying to fix. if the file is to large for a floppy (yes i still use one) i burn it to a cd+r to install in the comp i fixing.the tradewin i is one that i'm working on it has no ethernet card to hook to the internet plus its in my shop its running win98se.i'm trying to upgrade the memory on the tradewin the memory stick in the tradewin has no stickers and i still haven't found out if it is dimms or ddr.according to what i have found it says only 26mbs of ram.to which i don't understand when i have placed 2 128s in there.they are compaq m9104 and have 2 groves just like the one i took out.and yet the 128s have stickers on them and only have the m9104 number.upon further checking the sticks i found in very small writing that they are sdrams. (bad eyes needed a magnifier to see it still had a hard time of it. getting glasses next week) as to the optiplex gx150 i have seen on this forum lots of times mentioned of everest but hadn't put it on this machine.wanted to try it and after install tryed to run it and it froze my comp several times in admin mode and user mode.it runs to where it scanning DEVICES and it freezes.i have to shut off my comp and reboot. so i'm trying to understand why. just so you should know i come to this forum to learn what to do how to do it and and find useful info on what programs are best to have on my machine and the ones i try to fix.a lot of the posts of yours that i have read have been very helpful in understanding the problems and complex nature of the computer,as does the post of so many in this forum. i have learn alot from you and others on here an i know that i will continue to learn from everyone on this forum.if you need anything more let me know. i have it checked to notify me when a reply has came.alot of things i can do and other i'm still learning. my wife says my caveman brain is getting better lol. looking forward to your post. bmacgurkIf I were you i would Try everest on the tradewin computer, even tho it wont work on your Current Computer, that could be a Sign that there is something wrong on the computer your using Everest should tell you what kind off ram you are using and it would get you over that hump, you could Buy a PCI network card for less than $20, just so you know oh and XP will Run on a PII 266, just so you know. but it needs 256 megs of ram minthanks panboy, money tight around here now a days and its good to know i can run xp on a p2 just need to burn it to disk to do that on the tradewin or pull out the ethernet on this on and put it in. oh before i forget my optiplex gx150 is 1.0ghz. thanks , bmacgurk does anyone know anyting on tradewin computers they came out of win tech in manassas va is all i can find bmacgurk :-/ Dont GO swaping around networks cards, well not till you have everything working any way ^.^ Just Burn Everest to a disk and runit on the TradeWin , comp You can Run XP on a 266, but that does not mean its a Good idea Take the added RAM out of the Tradewind until you find what is in there. COmpatibility with existing RAM may be causing further problems. And be sure and thing about using some capitall letters and paragraphs in long posts. It makes it more readable and retains the reader's interest. Sorry GX1, I was never good at puncuation.I'll try your and panboy's advice bmacgurk |

Answer» Quote QuoteMore than Computer Forums these days.Getting into scence a little bit.Looks like that one is struggling to gain some momentum. Not much activity yet. I think starting a new forum is a very difficult thing, not setting it up but getting some momentum GOING. In the beginning, anyone who happens to see it notices that it has no siginificant activity and, THEREFORE, decides there's no point in posting anything. A Catch 22 situation, perhaps. You need some activity to GET a forum moving, but how do get some people to start using the forum when there's no activity. We don't go publicly now and just trying to shape the forum so that's why there are not many there. Yes you are right we are trying to get momentum at the time. On the other hand it's a little of specific forums (requires KNOWLEDGE of specific sciences) so you may not expect everyone come in and take on. But one of the rare ones with quite good experts there, like profs, DOCS etc. I am the moderator there The only one. exit. |

Solve : Recover deleted email? |
|
Answer» One of my ISP's is Earthlink. I know there is a way to recover deleted email but I can't figure it out. Anyone out there know how? From Earthlink's WebMail Help: When you DELETE an email message, it is moved to the Trash folder. Deleted messages are not truly gone until you EMPTY this folder.Unfortunately I emptied the trash folder. That would have been too easy. In the past, I have recovered emails but I can't remember how. I'm thinking it may have been something to do with archived FILES but I don't know. You might call Earthlink's Support. I called this NUMBER, 800-327-8454, in Feb. 2006; I also USE Earthlink. If it's stored on the server it is probably long gone. If you stored it on your computer there might be a chance, though slim. |

Solve : USB Printer and Webcam not working? |
|
Answer» I have windows 98, 99 compaq deskpro computer, 32mb ram, upgraded to 128mb ram and video graphics upgrade card. I plugged in my Canon MP730 multi-function printer and Logitech webcam into USB ports in back after installing software for them and nothing happens. I can't print or view/broadcast on webcam. It shows no USB, but checked and USB controller is active in device manager. The USB root hub had exclamation point on it, tried to uninstall/reinstall and I get Fatal exception error if I choose non-compatible driver for it because it says it doesn't have driver EVEN after I downloaded from internet. How can I get my USB ports working so I can USE my printer and webcam? HELPPPP :-?Double click the explanation marked icons, then say "Update Driver" Do either the printer or the webcam require USB 2.0? Do you have USB 2.0? I suspect perhaps not, due to the age of your computer. In addition to that, does the webcam and printer require Windows 98SE? Windows 98SE is necessary for a LOT of USB devices...Yes, thank you very much for your REPLIES. I tried updating the driver, but it just goes into a "fatal corruption error" screen when I try to install them. It appears my version of Windows 98 does not support USB 2.0. I am told I have to download a new install of the Windows 98SE to make them work. Thanks for your assistance very much. -TWell, you can't "download a new install of the Windows 98SE". You'll need to buy it on CD. ebay is probably you best source for this. Also, I don't think you should assume that your hardware SUPPORTS USB 2.0. It may not. In other words, you need both a motherboard that supports USB 2.0 and an operating system that supports it. However, if your motherboard does not have innate support for USB 2.0, you can rectify that by installing a USB 2.0 card in a PCI slot, such as this one: SYBA PCI USB 2.0 4+1 port controller card Model SD-V2-5U - Retail. It's not very expensive. So, it's a practical solution for computers with older motherboards that do not support USB 2.0.Second Edition is frequently required for USB 2 devices.I also agree with soybean...a USB 2.0 PCI card will run you about 10 or 15 bucks...and as GX! said try and track down a Win98 SE CD. You can install it over the top of your current install without losing any data so post back when you're ready and we'll walk you thru it. patio. 8-) |

Solve : Is this appropriate?? |

Answer» Quote then why do they call it the big bang? if no bang was present im sure they would have called it something remotely related to the event. this is a way of putting their theory on life support, if the intial theory gets shot down, they simply claim it was a misconception and quickly come up with another similiar theory. Originally it WAS thought of as an explosion, then the theory was revised. Quote im confused. what dont you get about that statement? the bible CLEARLY states "in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." and in GEN 1:6 "let there be an expanse between the waters to seperate the water from water." so with respect to GEN 1:6 and GEN 1:1, the earths surface, once created, was completely covered in water. I wasn't referring to that passage, but you are correct. Quote have a read. http://www.christiananswers.net/q-aig/aig-c007.html. radioactive dating is proven to be inaccurate. Interesting...Quote The Bible was written by men, not God. Correct? True. It is the belief of Jews Christians and all variants of these faiths that the Bible's writing was inspired by God. Again, that's for you to decide, not me.Quote I really don't see any reason why the bible can't be taken literally. Although it's not written as a scientific book what is written has been scientifically scrutinised for a very long time. There are many qualified scientists that accept it and many that reject what it says. Quite an astute observation. I agree wholeheartedly. http://www.chem.duke.edu/~jds/cruise_chem/Exobiology/miller.html Some information and critizism of the experimen johnchain spoke of.Quote have a read. http://www.christiananswers.net/q-aig/aig-c007.html. radioactive dating is proven to be inaccurate. Your source for scientific fact is on a website specifically designed for Christians who might be losing their faith? Well let's look at the differences between a Christian source and an unbiased source (for educational purposes only, I don't want to start anything here) In, http://www.christiananswers.net/q-aig/aig-c007.html, the first half is dedicated to showing how Carbon Dating works and how it is inaccurate. Why? Because it is the least accurate of all scientific dating methods , with a half life of a little less that 6000 years, it can only measure recent things and C02 in the air could have affected this as well. Strange they didn't do as much depth on the other methods which are now more commonly used? Proceding.... They get into other methods and its inaccuracies...Who really wants to spend half of their life learning about radio active dating and carbon stronnium mumbo jumbo.....That's alright....Christian answers saves you some time and eases your pain.... Quote The isotope concentrations can be measured very accurately, but isotope concentrations are not dates. To derive ages from such measurements, unprovable assumptions have to be made such as: Or you can read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiometric_dating (A reliable encyclopedia for those of you who aren't aware) Let's start with number 2... You're right, decay rates have not been constant (but for what :-?)? Our favorite buddy carbon!! Carbon can be affected by conditions to change decay times. And according to wikipedia Quote The decay rate is not always constant for electron capture, as occurs in nuclides such as 7Be, 85Sr, and 89Zr. For this type of decay, the decay rate may be affected by local electron density. These isotopes are not used, however, for radiometric dating. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Half_life.......Nobody is assuming decay rates are constant, if an atom has it's decay rate proven and shows that it cannot be affected by anything in the natural universe, it's decay rate is constant, and it even said above that we can get the concentrations accurately. But of course statement nubmer two is valid because it refers to an undisclosed AMOUNT of inaccurate methods. So it is true, but not for everything.. For number 1? Quote Rubidium-strontium dating is based on the beta decay of rubidium-87 to strontium-87, with a half-life of 50 billion years. This scheme is used to date old igneous and metamorphic rocks, and has also been used to date lunar samples. 50 billion years? If it was proven that that is the half life....I'm pretty sure that whether we know or not what was there, we know that witht he concentration that exists....most likely the sample found was at least one half life (already a little far back), and even without one half life, it's concentration before decaying one half life can accurately be determined (otherwise why would we use something that dates 50 billion years when the current theory is that earth is 4 billion?) And number 3....an atom decays on it's own....and that is what is measured.....number 3 is an assumption taken, yet not involving the decay of a radioactive isotope. Sorry this is sloppy, I was in a rush..... Here is a scientifically biased source if u want to compare http://www.gate.net/~rwms/AgeEarth.html Quote QuoteThe Bible was written by men, not God. Correct? This is going to get me in trouble, becasue it's going to sound like disrepect, but that's not my intent here... however: I equate belief in God with belief in Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster. The evidence exists, without exception, solely in the writings and legends passed down throughout the years by mortals. This is not to say that Bigfoot and Nessie do not exist, but any belief in them is indisputably based only on inference, interpretation and the stories passed down by ancients. Jesus was a man who believed He was the son of God. He may have been a liar or a lunatic, yes, but he may have also just been wrong. I have friends who believe they're psychic, or that they have a sixth sense of some kind, and I wouldn't classify them as lunatics or as having any sinister intentions whatsoever - I think they're just misinterpreting what their other senses are telling them. Humans are famous for that. Somebody once said that if God didn't exist, it would have been necessary for man to create Him. And that's exactly what every society in every period of history has always done. In the west, God as depicted in the Bible is the popular flavor, and Jesus is believed to be his son because 2000 years ago a group of people believed what he said and decided to write it down. The Bible is not a holy relic. It is one of many books, written throughout history, by men who believed what they said and who had a singularity of purpose in convincing the rest of the world of what they believed. Which is fine. But I don't buy it.People , People , People , it would appear that we are a way off topic here ....... this particular thread appears to have TURNED into something other than "Other" issues refering to computers .......... So with that in mind , I shall take it upon myself to Close this thread . I would suggest , that if the posters wish to continue the topic , that they do so ELSEWHERE , on a website devoted to religous discussions . This topic is closed |

Solve : wireless and wired networks combined... need help? |
|
Answer» i recently bought a new laptop, its a dell INSPIRON b130 and contains a dell wireless 1370 WLAN mini-PCI card. my dad already has a router (not wireless) set up for our home. its a d-link ETHERNET broadband router, model number DI-604. I have heard that I cannot just buy any wireless router and connect the two, as it can potentially offset the other (?)... and instead I should buy a ACCESS point (is that correct?). anyone have any info on this, i havent been able to find SPECIFIC examples and in my searches on various sites (i.e. tigerdirect.com or bestbuy) i have yet to find anything that could clue me in on what to buy. I would appreciate any help available, especially an example of what to get with the brand and model type or whatever. thanks. In the end the router has to have wireless capability to "connect" to a wireless peripheral. A wireless router is about $50 or so (or less after rebates). Maybe it's just time to replace the router?i understand that, but i also know that not just any wireless router will be compatible with the router we already have. and my dad does not want to replace the wired router we have as he just bought it not too long ago. this wireless router is for my computer only, so i've got to get one that will work with his. i may have figured out the solution as i was researching access point and wireless routers... some wireless routers have the capability to act as an access point with a wired router or can stand alone as a singular router, or i can just get the access point (which wouldnt be able to stand on its own in future use). id just like someone to confirm this or TELL me i'm way off. i wish i could just buy any wireless router and replace the one we have, but its not an option as my dad doesnt want to have to buy a wireless card for the family computer just because i bought something that replaced what he already had.Why on earth do you feel you need more than one router, regardless of when it was bought. That will complicate things greatly. A wireless router has 4 wired ports as well, so everyone is happy. |

Solve : Port forwarding and other various issues? |
|
Answer» First of all, I have VISITED portforwarding.com, and I've gone through the instructions it had led me through. The PROBLEM is, if I read it right, I have to do the same thing on all the computers connected to the network for it to have any effect. This isn't a possibility, as there are 4 other computers on the network, and none of them are mine, and I wouldn't be able to persuade their owners to do it. |

Solve : McAfee fouled me up? |
|
Answer» I downloaded the new McAfee SECURITY package and now I can't access the INTERNET site clubbox.co.kr/posole. This seems to be the only site affected by this. I noticed that the siteadvisor option SHOWED a scan on a download from this site which stated it was in progress and didn't clear although I waited for hours. I then deleted the siteadviser option from my computer but can still not access the site. Any ideas? Thanks :-? |

Solve : DVD-RW issues? |
|
Answer» Ok, so a basic synopsis is that I have a Samsung H552U DVD RW drive. I wish I'd RESEARCHED it online before purchasing it because I have now found that it's a total pain in the *censored*. Did you format the drive first and do a clean install of XP? No. I am an idiot and thought I would glue the XP CD to the side of my tower in a futile attempt to get XP installed. Yes, I formatted and installed it on a 'clean' disk. Also, it WAS on the latest firmware, v7, but it started screwing up with that, hence me seeing if a downgrade would solve it. It did not.I'd like to apologise for my previous post. I don't want to retract it entirely, because that would be like cheating. But really, other things are happening right now that are, obviously, effecting my mood. I'm not the happiest I could be at the moment. And by happy, I don't mean that I'm depressed, just sort of mad.The reason I asked was that MANY people just load another operating system on top of a FUBAR'ed installation without FORMATTING and wonder why it doesn't work either. Not I. Although I'm more of a hardware kind of person (currently studying for a CompTIA), I still know how to not completely frag a system when it comes to software. I don't like software (so quite how I would have computers work in 'my world' is a mystery =D), but I can operate it nine times out of ten without causing my computer to burn down my house. Still hoping that one time out of ten won't actually ever happen at all, but you never know... |

Solve : Weird thing on the taskbar? |

Answer» I keep getting this window that appears on my taskbar every now and then. It's not a pop-up SINCE nothing appears on the screen, but only in the taskbar. It has no name (just a blue and white box thing on the left) and only stays for a few seconds. It's getting a little annoying though because it stops my screen saver and RETURNS it back to the desktop. If ANYONE has any clue what this is and/or how to get rid of it, please let me know. Thank you!POST a hijack this log , so we can see if there are any Weird Programs RUNNING on your Computer |

Solve : What’s your most un-used PC peripheral?? |
|
Answer» Quote i'd kill for a midi\game port on my computer, i have an old sidewinder that would do great for alot of games, but its not touch sensitive though Most add in soundblaster cards have them. Quote QuoteHow much do those tape drives hold anyways? (I would like to get one for making backups and whatnot)Anyone still use a ZIP drive? For me: A scanner is my least used PC peripheral. I hardly have anything to scan! There's no point! (That, and its in STORAGE right now)Quote How much do those tape drives hold anyways? (I would like to get one for making backups and whatnot) I remember 250 and 340 megs. (That's megs, not Gigs!) A pendrive holds MUCH more! At least you're shopping at newegg. HTTP://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829130001 You don't have to have an Audigy for good sound and a joystick port.Quite true. I've had this sound card for over a year: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829120102 Voted other. I bought a video capture card, used it for like a week. Wasn't there once a time when scanners were really famous, and everyone wanted one? We (as in me and my family) had a scanner. (still have the same scanner) When we got one, I'm sure it was quite EXPENSIVE. We would scan photos, my brother would photoshop his report card and scan money. Did you know that World is actually the Roman WORD for "Cosmos"? So when we say "World" we are saying Galaxy or Space instead of Earth. (Ever notice that Earth appears to be the only planet never capitalized?) Earth was the name for our planet, yet we refer to "Earth" as soil or dirt, even sand and clay. So when we discover these substances on other planets, we say that other planets also have "Earth".... For a time, yes, I believe scanners were somewhat of fad. This was before digital cameras became popular. Who would want to use a film camera and scan photos when you can use a digital camera and transfer photos directly to your computer? And, it's much faster and probably BETTER quality than scanned photos. What does the Earth matter have to do with this forum discussion? LOL. Anyway, I believe formal writing still requires capitalization of Earth when using the term to refer to Earth as a planet. If other planets are capitilized, then so is Earth. |

Solve : Rats again? |
|
Answer» Thanks to everyone for your help so far. I need as much info as I can about what RATS can do to your system and if they can be traced. Does anyone know of any good web sites where I can find this info? Has anybody else had RAT infections before and what did they do to your system?RATS = Rough Auditing Tool for Security, right? I know nothing about it but, based on some Google hits, it does not seem to be something that falls into some category of harmful software such as viruses and spyware. So, why are you referring to it as an "infection"?His other post was about Remote Access Trojans, presumably he's asking about them still. He didn't just make up his own acronym, RAT's are Remote Access TrojansBut, he did not say RAT's or RATs. He said RATS. Precise terminology might have avoided some confusion. Also, if he had replied to my first post, he could have quickly clarified the issue. Quote Thanks to everyone for your help so far.
