Answer» All of a sudden my screensaver shrunk leaving a one inch white edge on the right SIDE of the screen. I have tried resetting the resolution, resetting the screensaver, changing the screensaver.... nothing works! What am I not seeing (other than a full screen) Thanks, Newbe - DDTWhat happens when you disable the screensaver?Nothing - still the white strip down the right side. Rebooted and now desktop also has white strip down right side. My sister's harddrive crashed and she just got it back from repair shop. She was having problems setting the resolution so I was trying to guide her through resetting the resolution on her COMPUTER as I was going through the steps on my computer. I just backed out of the SETTINGS on my computer, never hitting "OK" or "SAVE", but that's when the white strip first appeared. Could I have LOCKED something () accidently? Is this a desktop? Laptop? Are you able to update the graphics drivers? Try a DIFFERENT monitor?Desktop - relatively new hp! Yes - upgrade of graphic drivers tried! Don't have another monitor - Any way to check this monitor for pending failure other than another monitor? When you open a program and have it maximized, does its window stop at the line where the white edge starts? In other words, does the program window appear be getting chopped off on the right side and missing part of its display, or does it appear to be adapting to usable display area? Does that make sense?Quote Desktop - relatively new hp! Yes - upgrade of graphic drivers tried! Hook up that monitor to a known working machine...if it exhibits the same symptoms it is the monitor...if not it's your machine.
