There used to be some remailers out there that you could do it with. A couple years ago or so, I wanted to pull a joke on a friend, and couldn't find the one I'd used before. I got the feeling that they had all been taken off line.... didn't really put much effort into looking around much. They were probably so abused that whoever ran them just pulled them. How can I trust you? Do you have the original CD, the one with Microsoft all over it? ...just in case /sarcasm.It had something to do with the Accounts section. I REMEMBER when I was at school being able to pretend to be someone else. Only worked one-way, as in you could send to them as if you were someone else, but if they replied it didn't go back to you, unless you added a reply to address, but at that point it was obvious who done it. Solve : Easy C++ Programming Book? |
|
Answer» I am looking for an easy to use C++ programming book, that will:
The last book I got just suddenly jumped into coding, and I simply said "*censored*" in my mind, and put it down, and now its about to be returned to the Post office so it can be sent back. (It was something like C++ Primere, version 3) ***WP: "It was like" shows lack of intelligence. Adding "something" shows that I still don't know, but its more professional. (Not that the work "like" should be used anyways)Jesse Liberty's "Learn C++ in 21 days" is pretty good. You don't have to actually learn in 21 days (I'm more using it as a reference, now), and the info isn't complete (NO info on vectors, tsk tsk), but it's designed for the newbie. Easy to read. I hae 5TH Edition, but the Second and maybe Third are available as free Ebooks. I'll give a link when I get the chance. (Currently de-virus-ing mother's laptop... ex-Norton subscriber...)How on earth did I know that you would be the first to respond, Dilbert? (I was just GOING to PM you) I will see if my library has it Thanks, Tim Quote from: Zylstra on May 07, 2007, 11:01:18 PM How on earth did I know that you would be the first to respond, Dilbert? I have no life, and you all know it. Also, I'm good at finding resources for things I'm learning myself. GAH! My library does not have it... (I will check the other library tomorrow) Practical C programming / Steve Oualline. ^ Anyone HEARD of that one?^Or this one: The complete idiot's guide to a career in computer programming / by Jesse Liberty. http://www.cs.montana.edu/~mbauer/wwwback/c++/index.htm http://www.angelfire.com/art2/ebooks/teachyourselfcplusplusin21days.pdf I know C++ PURISTS will crucify me for using a "In XYZ days" book, but the info is good... Solve : Copyright and P2P, Program sharing questions.? |

Answer» How long ago was the last RIAA lawsuit FILED? The last I could find was 2004.Your friend What the RIAA SEEMS to be more concerned about is re-sharing your downloads (which happens with most P2P SOFTWARE during and after you rdownload).Simplest solution: don't share your files.Quote from: CBMatt on May 08, 2007, 03:50:18 AM Quote from: banjo67xxx on May 07, 2007, 08:16:02 AMWhat are you? An... anti-sharer?What the RIAA seems to be more concerned about is re-sharing your downloads (which happens with most P2P software during and after you rdownload).Simplest solution: don't share your files. Huh? What are you? Takethefunoutofeverything-er (Quick! Everyone! Upload your songs to Limewire or...something) Well, I'm on dial-up and can't handle DOWNLOADING and uploading at the same time, so no, I don't share my files. I do have a small share folder and if I like someone, I'll give them access to it, but that's about it. The files are already available and downloading from me would take forever anyway, so I don't see the harm. |

Solve : decibel and logarithm question? |

Answer» I am taking an online electronics course and I am stumped on decibel/logarithm section relating to amplifiers. My problems deal in power or voltage gain, and levels. Here are 2 EXAMPLES that I cannot SOLVE. (1) A power amplifier has a gain of 26dB, and an input of 1 volt. What is the voltage level? (2) An amplifier has a voltage gain of 60dB, the input is 10 microvolts, what is the output? I have a couple formulas, and I know the answers, but I can't figure out how to get the answers from the formulas. The answer to problem one is 20, and the answer to problem 2 is 10. Solve : Quite a buggyyyyy question? |
|
Answer» HI people, Can anyone please tell me what is the difference between a pipe and a redirection ? I keep bugging myself with this question thanks Simonredirect is when you PUT a certain url to a site, but you go somewhere else not sure what a pipe isNot sure what context you're referring to but in batch LANGUAGE redirection either gets text input from or puts text output to a device (disk file, COM, NUL, and others not used in batch code). The pipe is used to send the text output of ONE command into ANOTHER command. If I recall, only three commands (sort, more, and find) can take input from the pipe. Should you ever use Microsoft Powershell, you'll find the pipe is used quite extensively and that you can send complete objects, not just text into the pipeline. |

Solve : Software Hacks? |
|
Answer» My QUESTION is this: If you simply want to remove a splash screen and not replace it, you could try finding the file and renaming it. There should be nothing illegal about doing this. I removed my MusicMatch splash screen ages ago so it would load faster.Well.... its not so much a splash screen as it is a nag screen... A nag screen? As in...nagging you to buy it? If so, then you might be crossing over into illegal territory.Quote from: CBMatt on May 08, 2007, 10:08:34 PM A nag screen? As in...nagging you to buy it? If so, then you might be crossing over into illegal territory.Aww Yeah, but I dont plan on buying it until I have money an a credit card and I am lonely enough to sit and WATCH computerized characters dance...I just realized what program you're talking about... Yeah, I don't blame you for not wanting to pay money for it. But I don't know how happy Uncle Bill would be about that.Quote from: CBMatt on May 09, 2007, 01:03:56 AM I just realized what program you're talking about... Yeah, I don't blame you for not wanting to pay money for it. But I don't know how happy Uncle Bill would be about that.Yeah.... *sigh*You could try looking for a free alternative, but everything I find is red-flagged by SiteAdvisor. You can do what you like with your own property. If you sold or gave away a modified or hacked piece of software you might be crossing the line. Quote from: Zylstra on May 08, 2007, 06:11:56 PM My question is this: You are not allowed to reverse engineer or alter the content of the game unless explicitly stated in their EULA.. Is this BATTLEFIELD? You can just rename or move the files. For halo, you can download this thing that is like a movie that replaces the origional introduction. It is legal because you get it from a Halo Custom Maps site. |

Solve : HELP - with new PC purchase suggestions for 500 bucks? |
|
Answer» Heres your mission Mr Phelps , Heres what I found was wondering what the peeps who know think. This is a good deal and would do everything you need. Except if you do lots of wireless internet you would want a N card instead of B/G card.N meaning Nic card? what b/g? MAke believe I'm 5 on this one. lolQuote from: MP1975 on October 19, 2009, 05:53:17 PM N meaning Nic card? what b/g? MAke believe I'm 5 on this one. lolNo, he meant the wireless could be a type N, which is newer that G. But I think N is over rated. Few host spots use N. The common wireless is now 802.11g as a reference to a published standard. The G just means G. And the N just means N. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11TYVM I will be using it alot but it can't be any worse then what I have now an dI never had a problem. Only problem I had is when I went to go buy the dan$ thing and no one was selling it cause it came preloaded with Win7 on it! Come onnnnnnnnnnnn. lol It's not the friggin cure for cancer! NOW THATS IMPORTANT!the FACT that "few hot spots use Wireless-N" is a bit silly as an argument not to get a laptop that uses Wireless-N, isn't it? I mean, wireless-G WILL be replaced with Wireless-N over time, and more and more hot-spots will use wireless-N. And who knows? maybe they will make it so it will only allow Wireless-N clients to connect? Wireless-N is way faster, if the wireless hot-spot supports it. and Even if it doesn't you can still connect with wireless G, B, and A. Before I upgraded my Ethernet card in my desktop from 100mbps to a gigabit card, my Wireless-N laptop was getting a better transfer rate and faster browsing. 100mbps is 12.8 megabytes a second, or thereabouts, whereas my internet connection often could get up to 28 or 30. Can you, after purchase, upgrade to an N card if so desired. And if so how much, ballpark.Quote from: MP1975 on October 20, 2009, 12:51:17 AM Can you, after purchase, upgrade to an N card if so desired. And if so how much, ballpark. I believe you can get Wireless-N Express-cards, this would probably be best, since Wireless-N isn't yet a FINALIZED spec... I don't think, not sure about that anymore. I think they're in the range of 40 to 60 dollars.tyvm I'll look into it.Is this model that much better for 50 bucks! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9553985&type=product&id=1218123211141This MAY be a better way to compare them. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Laptop-Computers/Entertainment-Laptops/olspage.jsp?id=cat13504&type=page&pageIdentity=searchDriven&useProductString=true&productString=1218123211141*1218122580087&unProductString=1218122578847*1218122295102*1218119806446*1218127632130*1218099254474*1218122584574*1218123847586*1218093608129*1218122294915*1218122295053*1218119756637*1218123846583*1218123526907&catId=abcat0502003 |

Solve : MIDI Keyboard Help? |
|
Answer» I have a Yamaha DGX-220 USB MIDI keyboard. It can play MIDI files on the computer through a USB cable. However, doing so requires that you change a registry value, so that instead of the MIDI PLAYING through the computers speakers, it plays through the keyboard's speakers. The only reason it's done via the registry is because Vista lacks the MIDI settings for the keyboard.
I'm not sure what to do now. I don't really want to buy a NEW keyboard now as it's not that important. All I really wanted was to listen through the keyboard because I think it sounds nicer than the inbuilt MIDI for Windows. Anyone else have any ideas? They would be much appreciated. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (may switch to SP2 soon). Have installed the latest drivers for the keyboard and software. Thank you! |

Solve : Does anyone know if watching Sports Events on Internet from Paid websites are Go? |
|
Answer» I was wondering since NFL Season is just round the CORNER again, does anyone know if watching NFL Games Live on the Internet is Good for the $$$ to pay for it. I have 2 websites that offer NFL Games one taht features ESPN for Monday Night Games, and another that can view all of the 256 NFL Regular Season Games. Here is the 1st link to the one that offers ESPN and cost 444.95 one-time fee only http://www.watchtvonpc.tv/Watch_TV_on_PC.html 444.95 one-time fee onlyMD507 must be the richest person on this BOARD...OMG!The words Internet, reliable and live TV just don't seem to fit into my head comfortably. Like CBMatt said, try you local cable company. Probably a better deal with more then just sports channels and more reliable. I prefer sports center. I have a few teams I like but surely wouldn't pay that much to see them on TV, especially for a regular season game. That's just me. If you have that sort of disposable income.....The price is not $444.95 but $44.95 sorry Only $44.95 for one-time fee, not $444.95 Quote from: MD507 on August 08, 2008, 07:41:04 PM The price is not $444.95 but $44.95 sorry Only $44.95 for one-time fee, not $444.95 Still kinda priceylet's see $44.95 one-time fee for 12,000 channels, and cable cost $35.00 a month or more that is $420 a year, for 5 years that is $2,100.00 and all I pay is $44.95 for 1 time and nothing else again. Okay, $44.95 makes a lot more sense. I still find that a bit pricey as well, but I also don't like sports. However, if this was an indie-film package, I might not think of it as being so expensive. Now, with that said...I would definitely much rather pay $45 once than pay $22 for just a year. I looked for reviews of these sites and only found one for WatchTVOnPC and it said positive things, but it had very few details (no mention of quality or availability of shows/programs). I found no reviews for SportsTVLive. Also, most sites say that WatchTVOnPC is free, and only a couple of months ago, SportsTVLive was $6. Also, neither site looks very professional and their FAQ pages are oddly similar. So, the verdict is...I don't know...the sites sound shady to me. It's your decision, but I personally wouldn't trust them. UPDATE: You may want to take a look at this forum thread that I just found: http://boards.buffalobills.com/showthread.php?t=11453 UPDATE 2: It looks like this free site I saw mention of is actually a different WatchTVOnPC. And unfortunately, I am not permitted to post these links, as it is against the forum policies. It looks to me like the sites you found are just scams. From what little info I found, they apparently just send you to free sites once you fork over your money.I tried one of these just recently because I was desperate to watch a football game. It was a site offering sports for a little over $20.00. When I went to download the necessary software (or whatever it was I had to download, I'm not a COMPUTER person) my antivirus program would not let me download it, as it contained content that could harm my computer. Lucky for me, I had bought this through PayPal and immediately applied for a refund, which I received shortly thereafter. If I had bought it in any other way I would have been out of the money.Quote from: bbtmhmr on October 25, 2009, 08:15:38 AM I tried one of these just recently because I was desperate to watch a football game. It was a site offering sports for a little over $20.00.Let that be a warning to everyone else, you pay them, yet they still want to get more money out of you. Their idea is probably get you infected with a keylogger and when you log in to paypal, they got your money. |

This can happen when the burn project is not "finalised"... It worked! About twenty, or so, documents can't be found, or can't be opened, but everything else is there, so I am very happy. Solve : Whats going on!!!? |

Answer» About 2 days ago my computer just started to restart out of no where. Just TODAY it started that my computer began to get very very slow. So, I went to uninstall some things. When I TRIED to my computer went to a black screen. But, when there is one, when I hit enter it goes away and whatever i was trying to download or uninstall disappears. I am lost. Please help. Thanks. When was the last time, you cleaned inside the case?I've got two cats and a dog, PLUS I live in the mountains on a dirt road. I've heard recommendations against it but the only way to clean my machine is with a Hover. Either that or a shovel. Every time I clean it I wonder how my fans work at all.Vacuum cleaner is the worst tool to use to clean the case. It produces a lot of static electricity, a KILLER for electronics.I agree, and I don't recommend it, but I've got a six foot plastic hose and plastic nozzles and I keep the motor away from the PC. It's either that or SHOOT the animals. The rapidly moving air will produce static...plastic hose or not...Quote from: rthompson80819 on October 26, 2009, 12:01:04 AM I agree, and I don't recommend it, but I've got a six foot plastic hose and plastic nozzles and I keep the motor away from the PC. It's either that or shoot the animals. please don't say shoot the animals, thats just horrible. you can buy a compressed air(or something) at staples for around $8 Quote please don't say shoot the animals, thats just horrible. Nobody is going to shoot any animals. They live better than most people do. |

I know they are highschool dropouts but they are not dumb. *****sigh******* Well the reason i think they don't want to talk about ways to do it because they know most people who need to do this have to do it for a not so good reason are a reason they shouldn't like accessing a sight they were banned from. Are going to sights on library and school computers and so on and so farth, there should be no reason to want to hide and ip address only in very few cases people should need to change there ip like if they want to go to a sight but they have a new ip the previous user of that ip was banned so there also banned are if you worried about internet sucurity when you see stuff like computercommandos logo that shows your operating system internet provider and ip address but hiden an ip i don't think makes you any less amune to viruses and other threats but Unpluggin your modem and cords for 5 minutes might change it you could try it overnight if that doesn't work WEB proxys will hide them. Solve : How to design a Motivation game? |
|
Answer» I would like to build a motivation system for my grand children. It would need a transmitter receiver with voice outputs installed by myself. The transmitter would call out a number from 1-2, or 3. Each child would have a number. the number called would be followed by a color Red, Blue, or yellow pad with a transmitter to send signal to receiver. A timer would START when the color was called. When the player reaches the color a 2ND color is called. The player runs to that color, then the 3rd color is called out, when the 3rd color is touched, time displays time and then the 2nd player listens for there number to be called. The transmitter would randomly call players numbers and COLORS. Is there anyone who can help me to get started designing this game. THANKS |

Solve : question in Automata Theory? |
|
Answer» A one Person game can be converted into an NFA as follows. Let every possible board situation be a state. If any move(there may be SEVERAL types of moves, but we are not interested in distinguishing among them) can change some state x into some y, then draw an edge from x to y and label it m. Label the initial position - and the winning positions +. "This game can be won in five moves" is the same as saying "m raise to 5" is accepted by this NFA." Once we have the NFA, we USE the algorithm of automata Theory to convert it into a regular expression. The language it represents TELL us how many moves are in each winning sequence. |
