Solve : MIDI Keyboard Help? |
|
Answer» I have a Yamaha DGX-220 USB MIDI keyboard. It can play MIDI files on the computer through a USB cable. However, doing so requires that you change a registry value, so that instead of the MIDI PLAYING through the computers speakers, it plays through the keyboard's speakers. The only reason it's done via the registry is because Vista lacks the MIDI settings for the keyboard.
I'm not sure what to do now. I don't really want to buy a NEW keyboard now as it's not that important. All I really wanted was to listen through the keyboard because I think it sounds nicer than the inbuilt MIDI for Windows. Anyone else have any ideas? They would be much appreciated. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (may switch to SP2 soon). Have installed the latest drivers for the keyboard and software. Thank you! |
