Answer» Which power state do you prefer when using standby or HIBERNATION? S0, S1, S2, S3, S4, or S5 I realize that using a higher power state like S4 or S5 would save money, but when considering thermal expansion/contraction it seems that S1 or S2 would prolong the life of your motherboard and/or components, aiding in the prevention of chips and SOLDER joints cracking, and other STUFF... Money is not really an issue to me so I would use S1 or S2. edit: I suspect that laptop users would prefer anything from S3 - S5, considering that battery life/power CONSERVATION is a concern.
