heres the thing my sister had given me her old laptop TOSHIBA, the thing is that the battery charges but only last for half hour so I have to plug it in and use wall power. Usually from what I've seen, once implemented, within a few weeks it's pretty much forgotten about. It is not necessary to delete temporary files and cookies every day.

By DELETING your temporary files, you are clearing your browser's cache. This means all files and images on every website has to be re-downloaded.
If you don't clear your cache, the images can be KEPT in storage where, when you visit the site again the next day, not everything has to be re-downloaded.

I suggest, as an EXPERIMENT, leaving your Cookies, Temp files, and History for a few days and see how it goes.Sounds like a plan, Thanks.Happy Testing!

Digital rights management (DRM), designed to prevent the piracy of digital content, has failed. The sooner the entertainment industry recognises this fact the sooner it can get on with reinventing itself for the era of digital distribution.

SA IT billionaire Mark Shuttleworth, the man behind Ubuntu Linux, says DRM is a stupid IDEA. In a recent post to his blog, Shuttleworth decries attempts by the music and movie industries to build restrictions into music and other digital content that people buy legitimately online. DRM prevents them from copying content they have purchased to play back on devices of their choosing.

The entertainment industry has taken on Luddite trappings as it tries to protect its analogue business model in an increasingly digital world. Instead of embracing the Internet, the powerful Recording Industry Association of America, a US body that represents the MAJOR music companies, has stuck its head in the sand and taken to suing the customers of the companies it represents, among them young children, for copying music from online file-sharing networks.

The lawsuits are shortsighted and have inflicted enormous PR damage on the music industry, which is now widely regarded as being avaricious and unwilling to embrace the future. As Shuttleworth says on his blog: “The content owners need to be thinking about how they turn this networked world to their advantage, not fighting the tide. [They also need to be thinking about] how to restructure the costs inherent in their own businesses to make them more in line with the sorts of revenues that are possible in a totally digital world.”

Shuttleworth points out that DRM can never work, because it’s so easy to circumvent. New strategies are needed. “The truth is that, as the landscape changes, different business models come and go. Those folks who try to IMPOSE analogue rules on digital content will find themselves on the wrong side of the tidal wave.”

The message finally seems to be getting through. Last week, Apple and EMI, one of the big four music companies, reached a landmark agreement whereby EMI’s music will be sold on Apple’s iTunes Music Store without any DRM infections. The EMI deal comes just weeks after Apple CEO Steve Jobs decried DRM schemes and said he’d switch to selling DRM-free content “in a heartbeat” if he could. It was a PR coup for Jobs, who has won plaudits from consumer rights activists.

DRM has alienated law-abiding consumers. Some have turned instead to file-sharing networks where they can get music that is free of DRM restrictions. The entertainment industry is also losing the battle to hackers, who quickly reverse-engineer whatever DRM schemes the industry comes up with. It’s already possible to copy the latest high-definition Blu-ray discs and HD-DVDs, for example.

Says Shuttleworth: “For any given piece of content, all it takes is one unprotected copy and you have to assume that anyone who wants it will get it. Whether it is software off a warez [online piracy] site, music from an MP3 download service in Russia, or a file-sharing system, you cannot plug all the holes. Face it, people either want to pay you for your content, or they don’t, and your best strategy is to make it as easy as possible for people who want to comply with the law to do so. That does not translate into suing grannies and school kids, it translates into effective delivery systems that allow everyone to do the right thing, easily.”

Therein lies the rub. Most people don’t want to steal from the artists who make the music they love. They want to pay for the music they listen to and movies they watch. It’s time the entertainment industry stopped treating its customers like criminals.

So now that Adobe Flash is a memory, the pickings in the online video realm are slim. However, there are places like ArchadeSpot where we can play online. To that end I was playing a game of Mother 3 and into the 4TH Chapter when the Download Saves State stop working. I can load (Upload) a play but I cannot save them. Does anyone have an answer to this. Also, has a certain Platformer placed another DMCA on video game site online, all the site that have Mother 3 seem to have this game grayed out so it cannot be PLAYED. The biggest issue is that the computer expects only one keyboard and mouse to be in use. So even with 2 displays and a game set to each display and plenty of CPU GPU and RAM to run both at the same time, the system is going to only want to FOCUS on one game and keyboard and mouse input at a time, so with 2 keyboards and mice you would be constantly competing for controls as the system expects a single user.

What he says is true. For a home user it makes more sense to just buy another computer. A true multiuser computer for use in your home is just not in the future.
Years ago, before the cost of the hardware went down, there were methods used to allow network users to share the resources of a central server. This is commonly done in systems based on UNIX. But the performance level is very low for each individual user.
You might read about efforts to make a multi-user Windows server, but this is only in the early stages and is not going to be of any help to the individual home user. It is intended for the people that operate a central server in a company that has several users tied into terminals.
It is much more practical for the home user to just get another computer. And when that happens you then will fight over which one gets to use the newer computer.
So in the final case you will have to buy two brand-new computers and sell your old one.

Really, I'm just trying to help. You can't have two people playing at the same time with GPU technology. If you want to compete or play together EITHER get two consoles or two PC's.

You can do this with Virtual Machine software. Though it is non-trivial. You need to install three graphics cards (two 'gamer' cards and one for admin), the system itself uses the "third wheel" card, and you create two VMs, both of which are given hardware passthrough (using VT-d or similar) to one of the two capable graphics cards. Connect a monitor to each card and you get each VM's output; connect an extra pair of keyboards and mice and then use the VM software to connect one of each to the Virtual Machines.

What I described has been used by people to create single PC builds which provide multiple workstations and users can game on them simultaneously. The hardware passthrough/Directed I/O is what makes it feasible. It would require more than one graphics card, however.

What game and what performance level?

You would need to allocate the minimums for each game in each VM. That's not practical from any angle.

The one I saw was done back in 2015, using 32GB of RAM, a 980GTX and a Titan X Graphics card, and an Intel 5960X (An 8-core processor with hyperthreading). It used "Limetech Unraid" to provide the virtualization featureset. Both virtualized systems were playing the game simultaneously and appeared to run the title competently, with the benchmarks they ran giving something like 100+FPS averages in the title, which I think was Star Wars Battlefront II.

While it was excessive at the time, Nowadays for a "powerful" Desktop, I don't think 16GB or even 32GB is a particularly heavy "ask" of a system. And with AMD Ryzen CPUs having a large amount of cores, there is a lot to go around, even setting aside 2 cores for the host OS. The reason the idea isn't practical (And why I noted it as being non-trivial) is largely because you don't just install a program and magically get one PC to be two, and it requires some rather involved setup. It's not a case of installing VMWare or VirtualBox and checking off a few options. The one I saw used Unraid but maybe it would work with VMWare vSphere.

I don't think it's possible on any realistically consumer-available virtualization software, which is why I said it wasn't realistic for the OP. I think it requires an enterprise-level hypervisor, like vSphere. Only one I've seen actually used is Unraid.

As I understand, The way software detects it is running in a VM is usually by checking hardware for virtualized device names, or by checking BIOS copyrights and stuff. Most Virtual Machines virtualize that information. (eg. for VMWare devices like VMWare SVGA II, VMWare network bridge, and a bunch of stuff software could check for like VMWare Tools) Unraid- at least from what I can find- has the ability to pass-through the "real" information to Virtual Machines instead. Which is intended largely to deal with these sorts of software checks. I think games do that to prevent hacking or cheating since that could be done via a VM.

I wish I could find somebody else that did it, because they annoy me, but LinusTechTips did a "7-gamers, one CPU" system doing more or less what they did with the 2-workstation setup. (I think that video largely covers the hardware, and a follow up has all 7 being used in Crysis 3. Allegedly that game has VM detection which (presumably) didn't get tripped because of how they were setting stuff up.

of course, it could all be smoke and mirrors, but as much as I can't stand the channel I don't think they've outright lied like that before. And I'm pretty sure this sort of thing is done for enterprise stuff, for things like VPS setups, so it doesn't seem like a big leap that the same approach could be taken to spin out separate gaming setups.

EDIT: SnapRAID might be a free/Open Source alternative? It seems to have hardware passthrough though all I can find relates to it passing through Disk controller cards.

I want to change the email address associated with this account. I changed the email address in the "email" field in my profile. When I CLICKED on the "Change profile" button in the LOWER right-hand corner of the screen, a pop-up at the top of the screen appeared. It says I NEED to enter my password for security reasons to change my account BUT it is not clear where to do this. Why not just have a pop-up with instructions to enter the password and a field to enter the password? Where do I enter the password? So we replaced 2 systems in the office with refurb computers with Windows 10 and connected them to a network connected HP Laserjet P2055dn printer and if you print a single copy of anything you get a single copy which is correct. However both systems if you print 2 pages you end up with 4 and if you print 6 pages you end up with 12 pages printed.

Trying to figure out why its doing this when it doesnt matter what program your printing from, but if you select a value greater than 1 for pages to print you end up with multiple unwanted copies as it prints selected page count x 2.

Looking in printer properties on both systems I dont see why it would do this. Was wondering if ANYONE had any suggestions on what to try to fix this. Could it be a driver issue even though I have the latest driver for this printer and Windows 10.

The prior decommissioned Windows 7 systems didnt have this problem with the same printer so it has to be SOMETHING that these 2 new refurb systems have in a setting somewhere that is causing this. Connecting the Windows 7 back up to the network and printing it prints the proper pages and no extras.Check printer properties that Duplexing is not enabled if it is, un tick it then try. Thank You for your help... The issue was FOUND. I should have verified that all locations printed from were doing the same thing as I took the end users input as all places printed from.

What I discovered is that the old Filemaker Pro 5.5 that they are running has a bug with Windows 10 64-bit to where a single page will print a single page and if you select to print 2 pages it acts like the page value multiplied by itself is printed and so 1 x 1 is 1 and 2 x 2 is 4 pages printed.

I opened notepad and wordpad and typed something and then selected to print 2 pages and only got 2 pages, so its a Filemaker Pro 5.5 bug with Windows 10 64-bit.

The work around fix for this is to tell the end users of the 2 systems to select to print 1 page at a time and not to select a value other than 1 page. For the fact that they normally print just 2 or 3 pages tops per document in that database that they are using they have no problem with selecting to print twice or 3 times to avoid WASTING paper and toner.

The Filemaker Pro 5.5 they have been running on since 2002 with Windows XP and it seems as though I may have to suggest that they eventually move on to a newer database or newest version of Filemaker if able to import this really old application and bring forward to MODERN Windows 10 64-bit without a bug.

Sorry I am kinda new to this. I'm using a python API for Kik Messenger app and I've been struggling to wrap my head around this problem.
I'm trying to ask the user for a command, that command is a prefix command which calls my bot and is followed by secondary command which does a specific task, in this case the task is asking for an image. Kik is built using XMPP if anyone isn't already aware. "It basically lets you do the same things as the offical Kik app by pretending to be a REAL smartphone client; It communicates with Kik's servers at talk1110an.kik.com:5223 over a modified version of the XMPP protocol." -tomer8007.

Now that I have mostly everything figured out, I now have issues getting the variables "img_name" and "img_path" to pass from "on_group_message_received" to "on_image_received" as stated above. I have tried looking everywhere for a solution and either I do not fully comprehend it or its not even specific to my situation. You might be wondering why I want to do this, the answer is SIMPLE. I'm trying to store users images as a trigger by saving the image's name as a call back. Similar to how a text based trigger works except in this case I can save the image on my computer and call it back by name via app/group chat.

I tried to handle this through a moderator via the PM system, but many hours later there is no answer and the "Who Is Online" window showed me that moderator had moved around the board before I decided to get to other Net work and now many hours later I still see no answer, so I ask out here in the open.

I always do screen grabs of my posts, so I can clearly show that the post done some hours ago was properly showing after I did it. I then returned about an hour later and that post was gone.

I am referring to a thread in the Windows 10 section of this forum and that post of which I am asking about was not moved. Well, if it was moved I should have received some indication it was moved, but it shouldn't have been moved as it was answering a question about the Windows 10 OS. So if it was moved, I would have to ask why. If it was not moved and simply disappeared, well --- if it were my site I would start to worry if posts started simply vanishing. I replaced it with another post 10 hours and one minute later. You see, as I wrote in my PM to your colleague I keep a record of all posts I do. A screen grab record and sometimes, when odd things happen, a screen grab and text record.

In addition, I was quite polite to ask via the PM system what might have been the cause --- I asked that of one of your colleagues --- and waited for an appropriate period of time (that 10 hours NOTED above) and --- well, still no answer, and it is many hours beyond the original 10 hours I have made note of twice now in this reply.

On another matter that seems to be very interesting; if we have questions about matters related to a technical question about the operation of this forum we are supposed to post that question under the heading of Other?

I still don't understand why you are upset...if Posts land in the wrong spot they get moved to the appropiate spot regularly...it's part of maintaining a Forum.

I returned to this site about 9 and a half hours later and there was no answer from your colleague and the post had not been returned, as if it had been replaced from a recycle bin.

At 02:40:37 PM MST on February 11th I did a second very similar post in that same thread, of course, and you can see that one is still there.

Sorry for any confusion.And that was all I was thinking was needed --- just an explanation --- and also a quick notification of possible software trouble to any site management person was also on my mind because I know from experience that finding out about a weird glitch early is very good, so as few members as possible are inconvenienced by a weird glitch, like posts disappearing.

Well, that isn't completely true --- I have a problem with a website owner in Ireland that decided he wanted to sort of punish me and he put me on some weird list that then caused me some trouble with another site in the United States and as my IP address at this work station doesn't change I was sort of wondering if that could have caused a problem. I did notice that you changed something related to the record of a post's IP address and so that was why I had some added concerns.

But I still know that quick information about glitches sent to management can be very helpful to management.

Anyway, now I understand what happened and that was all I was looking for.

On ANDROID 5.0 when there is a BOX to fill some times not always when you want to type say cat123 you can type CAT and then 1, but then after you try to type 2 it backs up and erases the one so you now have cat2. I have over come this by typing the numbers first then going to the front and typing the letters. NEVER have this problem when using windows on a desktop. Any IDEAS?

Recently, I had an urge to learn about hacking (Ethical hacking). Unfortunately, I was not studying computer science at my university, and I need to know where can I start as a complete BEGINNER in the Ethical Hacking world? I need to know what TYPE of courses I can take online that will teach me about ethical hacking as a complete beginner and from scratch? Suggestion I have is read up on Ethical Hacking by getting books on it. They are out there and I have a few of them. There are also websites on it, but books have so much more on it.

Plan on also reading on White, Grey, and Black Hat Hacking to be aware of where your place is in what you will be doing on your systems as well as you will then be aware of what is and isnt illegal etc.

If you dont already have computers other than the one that your on right now. I suggest getting at least two of them as a sandbox area to play around with OFFLINE on its own network that is not connected to the internet. A simple cross over cable can be used or they can be connected to a network switch.

Then find tools out there to try on your sandbox computers to exploit software vulnerabilities, memory injection, and all that fun stuff while not connected to the internet but connected on your private isolated network.

Most start off as script kiddie's and remain as such, some dig deeper into becoming computer programmers who are skilled in knowing how to gain control of and ALTER systems behavior through targeting memory with memory injection, overflow conditions, and altered local files that programs use that change the behavior of targeted programs such as programs that require dll libraries and a altered/replaced dll opens up greater control over a system.

If there are suggestions of setting up a honeypot. I would advise to avoid setting up a honeypot to fish for hackers to target a decoy system and leave behind scripts etc, as for you can get pulled into legal issues if that system compromised on the web on the DMZ is suddenly hosting illegal content as the hacker turned it into a FTP server with illegal content for others to download etc and now your the host of it.

I have a problem similar to casse2go's post on 1/18/20. My laptop is giving me multiple "Last USB device you connected malfunctioned and is not recognized" error messages when I haven't connected anything. But unlike casse2go's problem, it has not affected any other computer process or operation. It will start by sounding a USB device removal tone, then about two seconds later a USB insertion tone and malfunction alarm. The frequency of this cycle can vary widely. Sometimes it will repeat the pattern every 10 or 15 seconds for several minutes; other times it might not do it for ten or fifteen minutes or even an hour or more. It often starts when I first go online or shortly thereafter, but not always, and seems to involve Internet Explorer although I use a different browser. Also, it will even sometimes do it when the computer is asleep.

I have an LG Gram laptop running Windows 10 Home Version. I have not recently installed any new programs, and I have done multiple virus scans, including boot-time scans, with Avast but they always come up clean. Task Manager shows a momentary 7 or 8% SPIKE in CPU usage when it occurs, but I cant find one particular program causing it.

Although it doesn't seem to affect any other processes, it does get annoying when it keeps making alarms when I'm trying to do something else like watch a video or eat dinner. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You need to change the port of UsB you are plugging.Please excuse my being sort of blunt, ZmMalika, but the OP seemed to state that no device was plugged into any port.

There are several parts on your laptop which even thou they are built in a considered usb devices. The Touch pad, touch screen and Keyboard if any of these are damaged it could cause the disconnect/reconnect. Are you using the power supply supplied with the laptop the 1 with a round connector or are you using a USB C charger ? If USB C, some chargers will cause that fault.

I wasn't sure I understood that part about the keyboard or touchpad, etc. were built in --- not connected to an actual port --- yet they were considered to be USB devices.

I can't get into my Hotmail email account! [AKA Outlook email]
It says i'm putting in the wrong password, so i get a code sent to my Yahoo email account. I put the code in, it accepts it. Then it ASKS me to choose a new password, but EVERY time i put in a password & press "NEXT" it says i've TYPED in my old password. 😮
the same thing happens on my computer & my mobile.
I don't know what to do or who to contact about this.Just choose another password. And if you want to have your old one, you can change it once again when you log in. There is an oddity about MICROSOFT email accounts that used to be true --- maybe still is --- and that is a password can be too long. I forget what sort of popup that produces when it is too long, but I thought I'd make a note here about that.

Now another bit of thinking is if you might be accidently re-using an old password and forgot that you used it once before. I think these companies seem to store old passwords for like forever. But, again, my memory on some of this is suspect, because I am an old fart that isn't doing so great in that bit of mental ability.

i keep getting a "unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" message pop up on my mobile phone. each time i press ok & it goes away...until minutes later when it happens again...& again.

The hardest question of all... how do you get new users?

I was browsing this 9 year old topic for ideas, when I realized that getting new users is not a question for me.

My forum has been quiet for two years. No ONE posted anything. The negligent admin (= me) didn't even bother to upgrade it. NEVERTHELESS, every now and then someone signed up.
I got an email from someone who was unable to register, which was a wake-up call, because there was a whole bunch of registrations waiting for me to activate. My forum was dead and people still wanted to sign up.

How to get new users is not the hardest question.
Harder than 'the hardest question of all' is this one: how do you encourage new users to start posting? And even harder: how do you encourage them to stay active?

Oh, and I realize that abandoning your own forum may not be the most effective strategy I really hate to tell you this, but forums are dying these days..

You could chalk that up to the collective IQ dropping, no interest, or whatever, but it's true.
Personally I only check in every few years, but I have no interest in solving problems for people who think Windows 10 is a good thing.
Trading anything away, is a bad trade.. Freedom for security, ease of use for privacy...

So, if you're wondering how to keep a forum active. You have to put in the work, make the topics RELEVANT, and if nobody stays active, be willing to throw in the towel and call it a day.

This might be the last forum account I ever bother myself with. Too many 'stupid' 'self-serving idiots', who think the world is supposed to revolve around them, expecting people to solve problems for them they could easily have Googled if they even bothered to put that much effort into solving their own problems.

Believe it or not, that's how many of the solutions are aquired these days. A bored computer tech logs into a forum account with nothing better to do, sees a post asking for help with problems that seem easy/simple/trivial to them, (easily resolved by using Google), and does the legwork for the lazy sob's that can't figure out how to type a proper search question and follow it to a useable conclusion. Then filters the answer based on their own knowledge, to sugarcoat the answer, and make it easy for even an idiot to comprehend. Then, when said idiot responds, that they don't know how to fix their own problems based on simple logic, lays it out even simpler, so a 5 year old can understand it..

I hope you get my point.

I might seem jaded and burned out, but just read some of "Patio's" posts and you will see what I'm talking about.

Btw, that's how I feel about the question you asked, but I'm trying to be nice...A lot of those "new users" might be spammers.I've noticed that forums are generally quieter than they used to be, especially computer forums. I think this shows that computers aren't so problematical these days. Hardware and software, by and large, just works better and more reliably than it used to. Think back to the W.95 - XP - Windows 7 - 8 days and there were always comparisons to be made, discussed and argued over. People asking how to make the change, should they make the change etc. Praising or rubbishing various releases. A lot of that seems to be subsiding now and a much more stable situation exists.

I can see that a tech person could become bored with that and I've often said there is nothing more BORING than a computer that works properly, although that might be just mine because I have nothing really useful to do on it ..and it does just work.

Regarding answering questions and helping, yes people could search for answers themselves but I think sometimes, the pages they find won't always be the best ones. Far better that an experienced tech person searches out the best links/pages on their behalf, possibly along with comments based on knowledge and experience. That can be just as helpful as anything else.

I'm no tech but have had experience of some aspects of computing and it's mostly only those that I'll post about if I spot them. However I might refresh the memory with an Internet reference or two simply because the memory needs jogging. Even then, perhaps wait a day or so to see if anyone else might know more about the subject. Any pages linked to are (I hope) carefully chosen for the best information.

Forum tiredness can EXIST and having been posting in computer forums and general forums for about 24 years, there isn't quite the enthusiasm for it that there once was. I just get the odd burst of it from time to time ..like now.

I have a refurb. iphone 8+. I just installed the waze app. Here is my question. Let's say I do a map UPDATE after a police sighting. When I INITIALLY press the orange button to report, is the general location (GPS COORDINATES) of where I saw the police car captured at that point (after I press the orange button to report) or only after I press send? The reason I ask this is if you are traveling on the interstate (for example) going 70 MPH and see a police car, by the TIME to react to report by pressing the waze send button, you are probably already a mile or more past where you saw the cop. Does the app account for this so that other waze drivers behind you get a fairly accurate, TIMELY alert of where the police vehicle is?

For some reason whenever I search for ANYTHING on Getty and Corbis Images the WEBPAGE is greyed out. I've tried four BROWSERS: Chrome, Opera, Yandex, Firefox, all give the same result, I've EVEN cleared data from these browsers. Any IDEAS?

I tried to transfer some photos from my USB MEMORY stick to my computer as I had done countless times before. D:) disk showed up in Disk Management but when I went to open it, it wouldn't say DClM 101MSDCF for me to click on to open up all the pics so I could transfer them. There was nothing there. In the column to the left under USB Drive(D) it says 101MSDCF but it won't open there either. I tried "EXPLORE", "EXPAND" and just about everything else. Then I noticed at the very bottom of the box it said "470 items)(those are my pics) and then it has a logo type thing that's very small and when I hover the mouse over it it says " displays INFORMATION about each item in the window press Alt + Ctrl + 6 . I tried that, it does nothing. How do I GET to my pictures? Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 1tb micro sd card with mp4 and mp3 files on it,but the dj MIX mp3 audio files cannot be recognised when i play them on a media player, the albums and video files work, just not the dj mixes that i have downloaded from mixcloud and elsewhere. It is like they have been changed somehow because they aren't recognised now and they used to work.PLEASE HELP ....

After i have downloaded the mp3 file / dj mix, it worked fine. Then i save it to the HUAWEI 1tb micro sd card, which i just use for STORAGE. Now they won't play anymore. I have other mp3 files/mp4 files saved on it and they work fine, just not the dj mixes. Thats as best as i can explain it...sorry not a techy guy...tried to repair 1 or 2 files but no luck...its doing my head in...

Have you checked whether the files you can't open are protected with DRM (digital rights Management)

You needed to select Gmail in the drop down list...not google.I assumed the OP dumped the gmail app, not Libre. Not SURE now.

OP - Are you using an email client app or are you accessing gmail via the web browser? If accessing via web browser, it will not work.There was no Gmail in the drop down box, Thanks for your help but I have uninstalled it, lost patience with it. I am not NEARLY as clued up as you guys.

Hello, with the loss of Adobe Flash I have been relegated to suing Javascript to play games online. I am currently playing "Terranigma" by ENIX. There is a game within that game where to win you must beat or equal a certain amount in a certain time. However, the person to beat eats more than TWO times faster than I can press the control keys. Is there ANYTHING I can do to set the Java to slow that clock? Can you tell me why using my supposed gaming keyboard, (Lenovo) I am less than half his SPEED. By the time I GET one bowl of noodles down, the other guy(game eater) has downed 4 bowls of noodles. By the time the clock reaches the prescribed 30 seconds limit I have only 15 or so bowls.

Please tell me if there is something I can do, keeping in mind, I am techy challenged. Be safe. Masks up. Get vaccinated.

So I kept having to remove my CAT from my laptop as the cat learned that it gives off heat and ASSUMED it was a heated bed when left idle. After removing her nicely from laying across the keyboard for the 3rd time in a day I decided to get a shoe BOX and place it to the side of the laptop that has the heat venting from the CPU/GPU heat sink and cut open a rectangle area with it not completely cut out but flap of it bent up to rest onto the top side of the laptop, and this way most of the heat was venting direct to the shoe box for her. She was a very happy cat as you can see in the picture, and it was lots of purring going on as she had the heat that she wanted and on top of that she absolutely LOVES to be inside boxes.

Figured I'd share this as a possible SOLUTION for those who like their cat being with them at the computer but they don't want their cat constantly smothering the laptop. Neccessity is the Mother of Invention...

I live in Canada but for some reason a couple of months ago my Google Play Store got switched to Japan. As a result, the available apps were quite different from what was USED to and what I needed. I googled the issue and managed to SWITCH my home country setting back to Canada. A couple of months later, I noticed that somehow this HAPPENED again - my home country got switched again to Japan.

When I INITIALLY was able to change it to Canada, I read that you can only switch your home country once per year. I tried to switch it back to Canada a second time and it doesn't seem to want to allow me to do so. I assume it is because of this regulation.

Can anyone assist by providing a way to rectify this problem? I suggest you check your google account for other computers/devices logged into the account. If there is more than 1 device is one in Japan?
If you don't have 2 step authentication turned on it may be a good IDEA to enable it

I have just tried to RIP the tracks off some CDs to PUT onto amemory stick for the car.I have always used this programm but it qwould not work today.When I clicked on RIP it said Error:Mps WRIT could not see end of word could be write.The programm is FreeRIP Mp3 Converter I uninstalled it and installed it again but still got that message.Can someone help or SUGGEST another programm.My car does not have a CD PLAYER which is why I am doing this in case anyone wonders.You could use VLC player. Very good and reliable.I installed Express RIP Cd Ripper which worls ok I have got VLC on my laptop but NEVER thought of using it.Need to Rip some more tracks today so will try LC.

I HAVE Brother DCP J315W it works great but just lately i cant get it to print large it SHOWS it large on screen, but it comes out tiny.
inothing i have done (it is not MUCH) because i dont' KNOW what i am doing. seems to HELP , so i thought id' ask an expert. i hope you can help.
