I GUESS it SHUT off. Let's move on. Make sure your cpu fan is operating. If fan is out the system will shut off durring or right after boot-up.THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME A COUPLE OF TIMES, AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE ON/OFF SWITCH THAT WAS STICKING. IT COULD BE DUE TO ANY NUMBER OF THINGS OF COURSE, BUT IT'S WORTH CHECKING THIS OUT.YIKES! IT'S THE CAPSLOCK VIRUS! Quote

Miss-read, post corrected. Although the demo version shows a Mac keyboard layout, its supposed to work for every OS, and of course, the BUTTONS are changeable.

What I meant was just a flat (maybe curved) SURFACE, like an image. Any program COULD have a custom keyboard layout.

That's one COOL keyboard there, Homer. I hope Microsoft makes it first!Quote
I don't get the deal with these TV COMPUTERS. Ok having them to manage movie files and stuff I can understand, but I don't see why that would need such good components. And a graphics card? I use my computer to play games, and my TV to watch TV...

Well you would have a wide screen T.V for normall games, it would look really cool!

ChrisIf a perfect PC were to be designed, there wouldn't be a need for new computers anymore and companies would lose business; so whatever you expect from future technology, expect for there to be something left out.Quote

Solve : Need help buying a laptop?

Answer»

I am looking at getting a new laptop. Acer, Asus, or Fujitsu.

1. I want to spend around $2000.
2. Something with a weight around 4-5lbs, not over 5lbs tho.
3. I want a dedicated video card. I do a lot of Autocad work.
4. 1-2gigs of ram
5. 80-100GB HDD.
6. 13.5 - 14 inch screen, or LARGER if the weight will be low.
7. good warranty coverage.
8. Preferably Intel.

Thanks.have you tried going to those companies and seeing what they offer??

unlovedwarriorI have but there is so much to pick from I dont know what to buy.

When the site says this "Video:Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Dynamic Video Memory" That isnt a intergrated video card is it?

How do the integrated cards work, do they all steal memory from the computer, or does it have its own?
How can I tell if it has its own memory

Thanksunless they give you the option to pick a differnet vid card then its intergated.

http://computer.howstuffworks.com/graphics-card.htm

maybe this will help.

but intergraded vids are on the motherboard and im not sure if they use the system memory or not.I think an Alien-ware would suit your needs. They are HIGHER technology LAPTOPS, but very expensive. (Still available for under $2000)
These are gaming laptops, (and PC's) and should be able to handle what you want it to.

I'll find the address for their site...

http://www.alienware.com/

Theres quite a few. You may be able to find one without the "Alien" type style, you should be able to find a normal skin for it.

BTW: Intel Integrated Graphics cards are the worst! I doubt Alien-ware has them, but watch out for other laptop MANUFACTURERS!Also Autocad has some very extensive and informative Forums as well...maybe a post there for suggestions might get some good ideas goin.
My architect buddy bought a vid card 2 years ago because he does a ton of ACad work.
That vidcard even 2 years old still smokes some of the BEST gamer cards out there.

Solve : Can't connect to company intranet?

Answer»

Hello, I hope someone can help me. I have a LAPTOP. It is HP COMPAQ NX7010. Microsoft Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 2, Intel Pentium M Processor 1700MHz 592MHz, 512 MB of RAM, 55.8GB HD. I work at differant locations throughout the city and I use my laptop at each location. I can connect to the internet wirelessly everywhere I go without any problems. I can also connect to our company intranet at any of the various locations I work from. The other day I went to my homeoffice to do some work and tried to open the company intranet just as I had earlier in the day from a differant location. But I got the "page not found" error. I wasn't sure if it was just me or not so I asked some of the other people working in the office if they could connect to the company intranet, and they were all able to do so. Normally when I click the intranet button from my company website a white page pops open with a smaller window sitting on top of it. The smaller window is the "Connect to mycompany" window, where I put in my user name and password. Then the smaller window dissappers and the larger white page now displays the intranet homepage. But this time when I clicked on the intranet button the only thing that POPPED up was the "page not found" error.... the little "Connect to mycompany" window never opened. I couldn't figure out what the problem was, so I turned off the laptop for the night. The next day when I was around the city I tried showing some of the other users the problem I experienced the night before, hoping someone would be able to help me fix the problem. But now I wasn't GETTING the error. I was able to access the company intranet without a problem. So at that point I thought the problem was fixed but was still puzzled as to what had happened the night before. Later that day I got called into the homeoffice to do some work, and guess what.... I experienced the same problem as the day before. And just as the day before, nobody else was experiencing the problem. My internet connection works from all locations, and logging on to the company intranet works everywhere except for when I'm in the homeoffice. Does anyone have any suggestions? You have provided a lot of information, which is brilliant and refreshing. Unfortunately though, we need more. It sounds like you have a bespoke kind of connection to your office, and you may need to be guided by your I.T. department. Sounds like a problem with the router at your home office, but without a LOT more information about your equipment and network connections, we're pretty much stabbing in the dark. Thanks for your reply ROB. I ended up figuring out the problem. It was such as easy fix I feel dumb I didn't catch it sooner. I went into the TCP/IP properties for the wireless connection and found that someone entered a static IP address for the DNS server. I simply changed the settings to Obtain DNS server address automatically and everything now works fine.Great! Thanks for reporting back.

UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH!!!
Yes, I used to have Freewebs. Mbhosting is much better. I can upload entire directories at once, instead of having to upload files FILE-by-file...

Plus:
No limits on other services within Mbhosting like Freewebs. For example, freewebs limits the amount of polls and forms you have, when Mbhosting allows unlimited. Plus with Mbhosting, you get MySQL databases, more useful than you would think!
cPanel makes it all worth the while.

The only thing with Mbhosting is that it requires that the person has some knowledge of building web pages since there is no site creator for you. But its easy, MSWORD can do it for you.Yes, having to upload file by file is kinda annoying and I do have enough knowledge of sitebuilding to start from scratch.
[size=18]But you have not convinced me!! I shall not turn to the DARK side!!(YET?)[/size]Try the cPanel demo. If you are a site creator like me, cPanel is a must!

And check out what comes with Mbhosting package 1:
MB One
Disk Space - 500 MB
Bandwidth - 30 GB
Price - FREE
cPanel 10 - Yes
Domain/subdomain Hosting - Yes
Account Activation - 24-48 Hours

MySQL Databases - 10
Mail & FTP Users - 10
E-Mail Autoresponders - 10
Spam Assassin - Yes
Webmail - Yes
Anonymous FTP - Yes
AWStats - Yes
Web Access & Error Logs - Yes
Password Protected Directories - Yes
Perl 5.8.6 / PHP 4.4.1 - Yes
mySQL 4.0 - Yes
Server Side Includes - Yes
Sendmail Support - Yes
FrontPage 2002 Support - Yes
POP3 / IMAP / SMTP Server - Yes

Fantastico - Yes

and look at the other packages:

Its all a great deal.
Need I mention that Mbhosting has MUCH less obtrusive ads?
They are not GRAPHIC filled, and you can choose where they go.
And no popups!
Web form feature is available only in paid version of freewebs.

Solve : Which connection is faster, dial up 0r cable??

Answer»

Hey

Can Ne 1 give me info- on Internet connection and speed, which one is FASTER, Cable or a dial up?!...

Thnx

MikeCable is many times faster than dialup. And, usually costs more.Quote

which one is faster, Cable or a dial up?!...

...Can ANYONE reads better.
It also depends on where you live...in the U.K. some DSL Telcos are offering speeds as fast and faster than cable.dail up comes threw you phone line. and if you would look at the size of your phone line and compare it to the size of your cable, then you would be able to tell that much more info can come threw the cable and greater speeds then dail up,

but like patio said it depends on where you live and what is offfered.Well, looks can be deceiving. L0L. If you cut a cable line and look at it, you see one strand of metal wire in the center, surrounded by insulation and sheilding layers. A telephone line has more strands of metal wire but less thickness of SURROUNDING material.

And, keep in mind that DSL looks like, indeed is, normal telephone line, at least from the main box outside a building to the phone line in the building, yet provides much faster data transfer than DSL. I'm on DSL. I needed no installation of additional lines inside my residence to use DSL; it uses the regular telephone wiring.Quote

This would be true in plumbing only...remember looks can be decieving.Okay, a joke, REALLY... but most will see the grain of truth... The more it costs, the faster it goes! Good luck in your search. A note about purchasing DSL vs Cable vs Satellite

DSL is probably the most affordable High Speed Internet (HSI) connection that you can get. It can run at many megabytes per a second, (Though average seems to be around 728KBS - 1MBPS) , and is capable of loading web pages fast.
Cable is best for businesses, simply because it does run fast and can provide content on demand when you want it. Not only that, but it sends and receives fast. (As Patio said, DSL can be faster than Cable)
Satellite has a few PROBLEMS, but is a great solution for anyone who lives out in the middle of nowhere without DSL.
The only problem is that Satellite is not great for servers or for sending large amounts of data because it sends slower then it receives. (Normally sends half the speed it receives. )

Cable is best when it comes to speed (unless you are near your DSL provider and can obtain even higher speeds) and is probably a more practical option for servers and businesses.

DSL is great for the average home user, its fast, and browses the web fast.

Satellite is best for people who don't live in an area providing DSL or Cable.

Another note: Although in many cases, Cable is faster than DSL, (but sometimes its slower than DSL), you will not notice it when browsing the web. Servers are to blame for the non-noticed increase in Internet speed. When downloading files, you will definitely notice a difference.

How satellite Internet works:
http://computer.howstuffworks.com/question606.htm

Why the difference in my Cable Modem speed?

Hope that helps. I know my writings are somewhat tedious to read...

Solve : wireless network printer?

Answer» OK i was on the phone for almost 2.5 hours last night with dell tring to get my printer hooked up so i can print over the wireless network i put up last night. but dell said the only way to use the printer was to turn off the firewalls on both computers. i think there is a better way than that.

both dells

both xp home sp2

both clean

ones a desktop (where the modem and router are)

the other is my laptopNot much to GO on, but just some thoughts:

If you use MAC address FILTERING on your router, make sure you added the MAC address of the printer to the allowable list

Check your firewall, make sure the internal IP address of the printer is allowed to pass through.

How is this all setup? Is there a printer server that needs to be configured?

I'm sure others will have some more ideas/solutions.

8-)the printer is hooked up to my desktop.

how do i do the mac adress and ip stuff??

thanks,

unlovedwarriorYou're right in thinking that the Dell advisers (as usual) don't know what they're talking about, not if you deviate from their "script". Have you enabled file and print sharing on the desktop computer? If so you then need to share the printer from the desktop (right click-->sharing) and install it from the laptop. (Add new printer-->from network...) MAC/IP filtering doesn't apply in your case. Windows manages all the connection issues.

If you get no joy, it may be that you need to open the NETBIOS ports on your desktop, but lets FACE that if we come to it.i did the file printing sharing i did install the print on my laptop i can print from it but i have to turn off the firewallsYou should be able to configure your firewall with "exceptions" to let your printer work.

Alan <>< how do i do that in zonealarm and in pc-cilin internet sercuirty
I don't have PC-Cillin Internet Security and Zonealarm is set up on my laptop (which isn't on at the moment), but you should be able to get into each program, poke around in Preferences / Options / etc. and configure your printer there.

Sorry I can't be more specific. I don't RUN wireless printer servers on my network and had a dickens of-a-time getting one set up on my landlords home network

Alan <>< thnx for the information

Solve : weak wireless signal?

Answer»

My family just moved and being in a new house we decided to switch to wireles DSL. We set it up so that my moms pc still runs wired but mine being upstairs and away from the router is wireles. The problem is that i get a very weak signal and i play online games (if you have an end game char in WoW then you know why this is a huge problem.). Now i dont want to have to buy something so are there any ways to boost the signal for free? i know i could in most cases move the router but there is only one phone line in this house (yeah its that old). For a reciever i have a linksys "compact wireless-G USB network adapter with speedboost" and the router is what the phone company gave us its a westell high speed router...i know nothing more about it. if you guys know of any way to help that WOULD be beyond great

thanks

P.S i hope i put this in the correct place You could go out and buy some better antenna's for the router, assuming that the router allows adding better ones to it. These can be found many places, Walmart even sells them.would that help alot? the layout in my house sucks.... the router is up high about under where my pc is but there are realy no open spaces till the stairs which then im the farthest room from the top of them........how much would a very good antenna cost? roughlyRed

I think I should tell you this:

The layout of your house does not matter. The wireless signal can go though walls, you don't need open areas. (If your walls were all metal, it would be a different story... )

Are you getting any signal at all? Can you gain access to the Internet?Quote

You could go out and buy some better antenna's for the router, assuming that the router allows adding better ones to it. These can be found many places, Walmart even sells them.

you could be right but; I basically live at our Walmart couple days a week, never saw any antenna's for for a router ?
ohh-well
maybe try restarting your computer and unlpugging and replug the adapter in..

did this just start happening or has it been happening??its been weak sense i hooked it up last night... though it SEEMS to fluctuate it was really bad when i went to sleep but now it is at good... i will be going to wall-mart some time today i will check and see if they have any antennasis it secure or unsecure?? if not then ppl can use you signal and make it really slow..lol i hope its secure i think it is though...you need a WIP code to use it....even if it wasnt i wouldnt be to worried about people war driving around where i liveits secure if you need to put some kind of code in it to access it..

heres a thought maybe the signal is weak because you are using different products a linksys adapter and and whatever router..

but im not sureQuote

I suspect that's the IP address of your web server. It's shared in the sense that several different web sites are located on the same server, hence share the IP address. Try a DNS look up your web address and see if it matches. No, not in this case Quatroking, but well done for trying.

Solve : Sending files to email addresses?

Answer»

Is that possible to send game file to email address. The size of the file is 150MB.If that is possible how can i do this?emildilov......... Wow ......... why don't you use a file transfer as opposed to trying to Email it ......... Most Email APPS have a size limitation.........
Use the file transfer function thats built into say ...... msn messenger ...... Simply ZIP or Rar the file and transfer it that way.......

dl65 Because i want to store some of my files in my email accounts if that is possible. My computer soon will crash down and i will loos my data because my computer don't have utility to record the files on CDBuy a burner and quit choking off e-mail servers...150MB is totally unsuitable for email transfer. Emails are TRANSMITTED in plain text by virtue of the constraints of the SMTP protocol. Binary ATTACHMENTS have to be encoded into plain text before transmission, which significantly increases the size of the file. FTP is far better SUITED to this purpose and can handle binary transfers efficiently. Furthermore, FTP is point-to-point, whereas SMTP may involve several different mail servers along the way, all of which would barf on such a huge file.

My company does not allow attachments larger than 100MB, and to be honest, that's pretty generous. Most ISPs limit it to 10MB or less.

Constantly listening to music is dangerous and distracting. Since when is the city a safe place? It ain't in my EYES, people with bad intentions on every street corner. I really wish they'd make it legal for me to carry a firearm but I guess sleeping with a baseball bat next to my bed will have to do.

Besides that, it dulls the senses. And makes you go deaf.

Having an MP3 player doesn't mean you're "Constantly listening to music". Well, maybe it does for some people but that's an individual choice. I don't Constantly listen to music; I occasionally listen.

And, as far it dulling the senses, I believe it depends on what type of music you listen to, the amount of time, the volume level, etc. Indeed, contrary to what you say, some evidence indicates listening to certain types of music at certain times may increase mental functioning. See: Music and learning. And, concerning deafness, that is due to LACK of awareness of the consequences of long term exposure to high noise levels and absence of good judgement in listening to music. Constant exposure to very loud noise of any type can cause damage to one's hearing. I don't enjoy having music playing at a volume that shakes the walls; those who do are at risk.

By the way, I don't know what city you're talking about, but I'm glad I don't live there.
Yes, I have an iPod *hang head*. It has its Pros and Cons. But for me the cons outway the pros. I really need to get me something else that is not an iPod. For some strange reason, I just cant imagine you listing to music. What kind do you listen to?I wonder why not? I am a classic rock kind of guy (grew up with it) but also enjoy jazz, blues, some country, and a few current artists (though not many!) Rap is not music, so that doesn't count, of course.

Maybe we should have a post section where we list the 3 most listened to CD's currently?

Bob Dylan - Modern Times
Chris Rea - The Road to *censored* And Back
John Mayall - The Turning Point (Remastered)Quote

Did you create a folder named forums in photobucket? Let's look at your code:
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y256/talismanp/forums/pic 2jpeg It has errors in it. No dot before JPEG. Is the file extension really jpeg or is it jpg? Is there supposed to be a space between pic and 2? In other words, please post the correct URL, as I did in a PREVIOUS post (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y256/farmpond/forums/soybean4.jpg) so that we can see the image outside of this forum.Quote

Oh boy,. I looked at the properties of the file, and it was jpg, .. I must have typed jpeg in when I saved the image. also there was a gap in the url .. as you noticed.. it must not have been the url which I coppied out of photobucket.. anyway.. I understand how it works now.

Solve : Just a graphics question....?

Answer»

I have a Compaq presario 6000 computer that is completely stock. i WANT to upgrade my graphics to be able to play a game (eve) and the minimum system requirements for graphics say an NVIDIA GeForce 2 class card or equal. i'm deciding on a RADEON 9250 pci graphics card, and i want to know if this card is equal to a geforce class 2 and if my system can support it. i have a VIA VT8375 ProSavageDDR KM266 chipset. any comments will be appreciated. thanksThe Radeon 9250 is a later generation card than nVidia's GeForce 2 series. So, it's more than equal to the nVidia GeForce 2 series.

By the way, if you have an AGP slot, go with that instead of PCI. AGP is specifically designed for video and out-performs PCI.i definitely know there is a pci slot, but is there a way to check if i have an agp slot?Download, unzip, install and run Everest Home Edition
http://www.comcen.com.au/~fed/everest.zip

Select Computer>Motherboard>Motherboard from the left HAND panel.
Then READ the Motherboard Physical INFO from the right hand panel.does it matter if the card has 2x or 4x or 8x agp? and i do have 1 agp slot.Open the case and look for a brown slot. See this illustration for an example of a motherboard with both PCI slots and an AGP slot: Accelerated Graphics Port . The illustration also has ISA slots; you probably have none of those; they are older technology.
i figured i'd keep it on this topic....is it possible to upgrade my agp slot? it only supports 1x and 2x, and it's hard to find graphics cards that have it.You cannot upgrade an AGP slot. That's a fact.

offering fun and gaiety; "a festive (or festal) occasion"; "gay and exciting night life"; "a merry evening"

Now my grandchildren laugh when we sing"Deck The Halls"

You know:"Don we now our gay apparal"

Everyone knows Gai is French and changed to gay in America to goof up
things that were already part of our heritage. That's why I still say"homosexual"or queer or..........................

http://www.babylon.com/definition/gai/Englishhehee,.. Brilliant Street 1 I like that. The naked sivil-servant (Quentin Crisp) once said to a critic "We are as Good As You". that is SUPPOSED to be how the word GAY was associated with errrm queers.

Hello Linux!
Can Vista BETA's still be downloaded right now?Nope. MS decided it had enough rabbits and closed down the RC2 (newest Beta) DLoad site...

You had to be registered with MS to take advantage of it.

Solve : 100 $ laptop to roll-off assembly line?

Answer»

[highlight]Ask your brother to go kick-start the "laptop". I kinda like the last SENTENCE in this article about- "where is the hardrive" [/highlight]

The laptop PC at the heart of the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) initiative aimed at schoolchildren in developing countries will start rolling off production lines in the second quarter of next year.
Taiwan’s Quanta Computer, the largest contract notebook PC manufacturer in the world, was tapped by the OLPC project to produce the low-cost devices, and says it’s gearing up to play its part.

OLPC Concept Photo
Although the final numbers will depend on how many orders come in for the “$100 laptop,” Quanta expects to produce 10 million of the devices in the first year of production, a company REPRESENTATIVE said Monday.
The OLPC group, led by Nicholas Negroponte, chairman of OLPC and a cofounder of the MIT Media Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, plans to offer the low-cost laptops to governments and organizations around the world as an EDUCATIONAL tool to ensure schoolchildren in poor nations keep up in the digital age. A number of academic and industry groups worked together on the project to come up with the $100 laptop design.

An improvement to inexpensive liquid crystal display (LCD) technology was key to pushing the cost of the laptop so low, according to the OLPC website. OLPC improved LCDs commonly found on inexpensive DVD players, resulting in a laptop screen costing $35. Normally, such screens make up hundreds of dollars of the cost of a notebook PC.

OLPC also reduced the amount of software in the laptops, cutting the fat out of the system. "Today’s laptops have become obese. Two-thirds of their software is used to manage the other third, which mostly does the same functions nine different ways," the OLPC website says.

In addition, the group believes that mass producing the laptops in very large numbers will keep costs down. The group had said it would not begin production until 5 million to 10 million of the laptop PCs had been paid for in advance.

The machine will run the Linux OS on a 500MHz microprocessor from Advanced Micro Devices, will be wireless broadband-ready, and contain 128MB of DRAM and 500MB of flash memory for storage. The only major component missing will be a big hard disk, according to the group.

Wonder if it has a pull rope like a lawnmower?

I read a good bit of the article and the links.

Seems UNCLE Billy don't like it.

All I get out of it is the old "See and Say" toys.

THE FRICKIN FARMER SAYS.LOL
Uncle Billy doesn't like it because he can't sell a license for Windows. If he made $20 a pop he would LOVE it.I think its a good idea.

Although I don't quite understand the group they're trying to reach; The starving kids in Africa or the homeless criminals in America?Quote

Solve : whats up with hotmail forwards??

Answer»

why is it that when I or someone with a hotmail email, forwards an email with photos with wording below it, that the receiver gets them seperated?
for exsample, I got an email from my brother with a photo and the comment below it was funny, he got it from a website, so I forwarded it to my SISTER who has a hotmail account, the words are first, then the photos are at the bottom of the page, so its stupid and makes no sense, now IF I would have received my brothers email at my servers email address,[ my home email,] and I would have forwarded it, it would be the same.
for some reason hotmail is spliting the photos from the words every time its forwarded. really sucks when someone forwards me some cartoons and all the pictures are at the bottom, sort of takes the fun out of it. I end up searching for it on line to send it out directly
anything I can do? I ve not had this problem till the last few months.
tammyoCut , copy and paste it into a new message instead of forwarding it...[rant]I NEVER see a forwarded email. I hate them so much that I filter and delete them before they reach my inbox. NEXT to SPAM it is the worse thing that ever happened to email. Every time one is forwarded a ton of garbage gets added. If I wanted to be a spammer, I could collect thousands of email addresses, doing nothing more than examining the headers of forwarded emails. Ever wonder how a private address winds up on a spammers list?[/rant]Man that even made me feel better ! !

People who forward E-mails should be knee-capped.Quote

And fed to the Rabbits...well to put all of you at ease, I get no spam at my hotmail, yay, and the forwards Im talking about are girl stuff like ANIMATED greetings , man bashing, woman bashing, redneck humor, and junk.Im online about three times a week , dont have time for much.
so your saying to copy and paste, but then wouldnt that be an attatchment?
many times when people forward me attatchments I open it and theres just a whole long paragraph of jumbled up letters.
I dont get that at all.
Im about as computer savy as my grandma.
But Ill try it out
thanks.Quote
but then wouldnt that be an attatchment?
No. You paste it into a new email. No attachments, no forwards, decreases transmission time, received email is MUCH cleaner.

Solve : Signature pic?

Answer»

How can you put picture for your signature??Go to Profile, MODIFY, Options, and add the LINK to the signature pic in the Signature box. Thanks and did you see this??:
Yes, I did. I'll try putting it in my signature block.OK, here's what I had to insert in for Signature:

{url=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y256/farmpond/forums/Soybean1.gif}{IMG]http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y256/farmpond/forums/Soybean1.gif[/IMG][/url}

Where I have { or }, replace them with [ or ]. I had to do that to show the code; otherwise, it would show the IMAGE again.

I also downsized the image; it's now only 5,924 bytes.

Open the image in 'Paint', click 'Image', 'Stretch/Skew...'
Under 'Stretch', ADD the correct percentage and click ok. (Use the same percentage for 'Horizontal' and 'Vertical' so the image is not DISTORTED.)OR you could CONVERT it to GIF or JPG....

Solve : Attention Physicists?

Answer»

Ok I am BUILDING a project for my Physics class, and I would like some ideas. What I have is an insulated enclosed container, only about 1’x1’x1’. Inside the box, I am trying to produce as MUCH heat as possible, as efficiently as possible. I have a rotating wheel inside of the box, so I would like to use that to produce the heat. The wheel doesn’t have much power so it can’t do anything too extravagant. I was thinking about maybe setting it up to generate electricity which would produce heat. Any kind of friction would… Oh one last thing, I don’t want to use the sun or anything like that, but I’ll take anything to build off of, Thanks!

So what have you thought of so FAR?

Edit:I must disqualify myself.I thought you Said"Psychiatrist"haha! nice, ok to clarify. This needs to run for a long long long time... PUT a lot of phosphor in a match box. Quote

electrical heaters need alot of power to start producing heat i really would not recommend electric heating. Thanks for the helpful reply! I wasn't thinking so much electrical heating as generating the electricity itself.i failed physics. What can i see the TEACHER was hot............
