And, as far it dulling the senses, I believe it depends on what type of music you listen to, the amount of time, the volume level, etc. Indeed, contrary to what you say, some evidence indicates listening to certain types of music at certain times may increase mental functioning. See: Music and learning. And, concerning deafness, that is due to LACK of awareness of the consequences of long term exposure to high noise levels and absence of good judgement in listening to music. Constant exposure to very loud noise of any type can cause damage to one's hearing. I don't enjoy having music playing at a volume that shakes the walls; those who do are at risk. By the way, I don't know what city you're talking about, but I'm glad I don't live there. Yes, I have an iPod *hang head*. It has its Pros and Cons. But for me the cons outway the pros. I really need to get me something else that is not an iPod.
