A stone is dropped from the adge of a roof.find the speed of the stone at 2 second after the stone was dropped.

Answer» FINDING acceleration
a = vf - vi \div t
vf =0m/s
vi=0m/s
t=2sec

hence
a=0.5m/s^2

now, for distance
2as = vf {}^{2}  - vi {}^{2}
2(0.5)s=0^2-0^2
1s=0
s=0/1
s = 0m
for speed
s = distance \div time

speed=0/2
hence s=0m/s

A body dropped freely has covered (16/25)th of the total distance in the last second. It's total time of fall is?

Answer» Hi.

Here is the answer---

_________________

Let the Total Distance covered by the Body be x and the Total time taken by the body in covering the distance x is y.

Given Conditions,

  Distance covered by the Body in last second = (16/25) of total distance
                                                                         = (16/25) × x
                                                                         = 16x/25

Using the Equation of the Motion for the Free Fall,

  S = ut + (1/2)gt²

Initial Velocity(U) = 0
 [Since the Body starts from the REST at the Certain Height]

 Thus, The Formula will be,

 S = (1/2)gt²

Where, S = Distance
                =  (16/25)x

           g = Acceleration due to gravity
               = 10 m/s²

            t = time
              = 1 second [ As per as the Question]

Putting these Conditions in the Question,

 We get,

  (16/25)x = (1/2) × 10 × (1)²
     16x/25 = 5
      16x = 25 × 5
      16x = 125
         x = 125/16
        x = 7.8125 units.

Total Distance covered by the Body is 125/16 units.

For the Total Time,

 Again using the same equation of the motion,

          S = (1/2)gt²
  125/16 = (1/2) × 10 × t²

     t² =  (125 × 2) ÷ (16 × 10)
\frac{250}{160}     t² =
\frac{25}{16}     t² =
     t = √(25/16)
      t  =5/4
      t = 1.25 Seconds.

Thus, the total time taken by the body under free fall is 1.25 Seconds.

Answer»

From Young’s Modulus FORMULAE:
Y = Fl’/Al
where L’ = 2l/1000
putting all the values we get,
7 x 10^9 = 10^4 * 2l/1000*A*l
solving we get,
A = 1/1400 m^2.

25.

two equal force act on an object.is this information enough to say which way the object will move? give reason.

Answer»

Heyy...

No, as we have to mention in which direction the FORCES are acting.
If both equal forces are in same direction then BODY will move in the direction to which FORCE is applied.
If both forces are OPPOSITE to each other they will cancel out (because they are equal) and body will be at rest only.

Hope it HELPS:-)

three resistance each of 4 ohms are connected to form a triangle . the Resistance between any two terminals is ???????????????

Answer»

<klux>R</klux>=\dfrac{8}{3}The Resistance between any two terminals is ohms.

Explanation:

GIVEN,

The three resistance (R) = 4 ohms

To find, the Resistance between any two terminals = ?

The two  resistance are CONNECTED in series

=R_{1}+R_{2}

= 4 + 4 = 8 ohms

The two  resistance are connected in parallel ( 8 ohms and 4 ohms)

\dfrac{1}{R}=\dfrac{1}{R_{1}}+\dfrac{1}{R_{2}}

\dfrac{1}{R}=\dfrac{{R_{1}}+{R_{2}}}{R_{1}{R_{2}}}

R=\dfrac{{R_{1}}{R_{2}}}{R_{1}+{R_{2}}}

R=\dfrac{8\times 4}{8+4}=\dfrac{32}{12}

R=\dfrac{8}{3}⇒ ohms

R=\dfrac{8}{3}Hence, the Resistance between any two terminals is ohms.

Two tuning forks have frequencies 380 and 384 hz respectively . when they are sounded together then produce 4 beats after hearing the maximum sound how long will it take to hear the minimum sound

Answer»

Beat PERIOD is GIVEN by
T = 1/(f₁ - f₂)

Given, f₁ = 384 Hz and f₂ = 380
So, T = 1/(384 - 380) = 1/4 sec

∵ time period between maximum and minimum sound = beat period/2
= (1/4 sec)/2 = 1/8 sec

Hence, 1/8 sec will TAKE to hear the minimum sound = 1/8 sec

A motorcyclist drives from place A to place B with a uniform speed of 30 km/h and returns from place B to place A with a uniform speed of 20km/h . Find his average speed.

Answer»

Let distance = X

Total Distance = x + x = 2x

Time = x / 20 + x/ 30 = 5x / 60

Average SPEED = Total Distance / Total Time

2x / (5x /60) = 2x * 60 / 5x = 24 KM / hr

The pole strength of a bar magnet is 48 ampere-metre and the distance between its poles is 25 cm. The moment of the couple by which it can be placed at an angle of 30o with the uniform magnetic intensity of flux density 0.15 Newton /ampere-metre will beA) 12 Newton x metre B) 18 Newton x metre C) 0.9 Newton x metre D) None of the above

Answer»

The torque will be τ = 0.9 N-m

Option (C) is correct.

Explanation:

We are given that:

  • Strength of bar MAGNET =  48 Am
  • Distance = 25 cm = 25 x 10^-2 m
  • Angle = 30°
  • Flux density = 0.15 N / Am

τ = mBsinθ  ---- (1)

M = m x L

M = 48 x 25 x 10^-2

τ = 48 x 25 x 10^-2 x 0.15

τ = 0.9 N-m

Thus the torque will be τ = 0.9 N-m

The net force experienced by a bar magnet placed in a uniform magnetic feild is

Answer»

The correct answer should be - Zero.

When a bar magnet or magnetic DIPOLE is PLACED in a uniform magnetic field, it will not experience any force but it is BOUND to experience a torque. This torque will align the dipole MOMENT of the bar magnet to align along the direction of magnetic field.

However, if a bar magnet is placed in a non-uniform magnetic field, then it will be subjected to a force and torque.
