Why does Inert gases placed in zero group? |
Answer» Here is your answer...☺☺☺ ➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡➡ That is because elements of inert gases have an OCTET structure whichhas fully paired electrons. Inert gasesor noble gases have already completed their octet (zero VELENCY) an hence are STABLE and do not react with other elements or make any compounds. Hence, it makes a lot sense that they are placed in GROUP zero. ✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔✔ I hope this answer is helpful to U...❤❤❤ Keep Asking...✌✌✌ ✨✨✨If help you. Mark my answer as a brainliest✨✨✨ |

What is esters? how are esters prepared? write the chemical for the reaction involved? what happens when an esters reacts with sodium hydroxide? write the chemical equation for the reaction and also state the name and use of this reaction? |
Answer» What is esters? => Ester is an organic compound in the field of chemistry , which is produced by the reaction of acid with alcohols. It is denoted by R - (OR')C=Owhere R and R' are alkyl groups. how are esters prepared? write the chemical for the reaction involved? => Esters can be prepared with many reactions but mostly used and preferred reaction is the reaction of carboxylic Acid with alcohol with RESULTS in FORMATION of ester and water molecule. The yield can be improved using a little of suphuric acid as the catalyst will increase the rate . The process of FORMING ester is called esterification. R-CO²-H + HO-R' == R-CO² -R + H²Owhat happens when an esters reacts with sodium hydroxide? write the chemical equation for the reaction and also state the name and use of this reaction? When ester reacts with Sodium hydroxide , the corresponding products formed will be carboxylic acid of sodium salt and a alcohol group. R-CO²-R' + NaOH ==> R-CO²-Na + R'-OHThis process is called saponification. The name is due to REASON because this is used in preparation of soap |

Liquid and gas are commonly known as fluid . Compare their properties and show that they can flow? Which property of fluid is essential for the survival of aquatic life? |
Answer» Properties of Fluids The term fluid includes both liquid and gases. The main difference between a liquid and a gas is that the volume of a liquid remains definite because it takes the shape of the surface on or in which it comes into contact, whereas a gas occupies the complete space available in the container in which it is kept. In hydraulics in civil engineering, the fluid for consideration is liquid, so, we will examine some terms and properties of the liquids. Mass Density: It is the mass of the fluid PER unit volume. It unit is kg per cubic meter. Specific Weight: It is the weight per unit volume of the fluid. This quantity depends on the gravitational force of the place where the fluid is kept. The units for it are NEWTON per cubic meter Specific Volume: It is the volume occupied by the unit mass of the fluid. Its unit is cubic meter per kg. Relative Density or Specific Gravity: It is DEFINED as the ratio of mass density of the fluid concerned and the mass density of water at standard pressure and temperature, i.e., 4 degrees Celsius and atmospheric pressure. Viscosity: Viscosity is the property of fluid which defines the interaction between the moving particles of the fluid. It is the measure of resistance to the flow of fluids. The viscous force is due to the INTERMOLECULAR forces acting in the fluid. The flow or rate of deformation of fluids under shear stress is different for different fluids due to the difference in viscosity. Fluids with high viscosity deform slowly. Compressibility: When pressure is applied on a fluid, its volume decreases. This property of a fluid is called compressibility. Elasticity: When the force generating the pressure on the fluid, is released it returns to its original volume. This property of a fluid is called elasticity of the fluid. Vapor Pressure: Molecules of a liquid escape from its surface to fill the space above the liquid surface and the container until such time when the pressure due to these molecules above the liquid surface reaches the vapor pressure of the liquid. This is how the vapor pressure of a liquid is defined. Surface Tension: The molecules on the surface of a liquid, that is, the interface between the liquid and the air are bound together by a week force called surface tension. This force makes the liquid form a layer and is caused due to the cohesive force between the molecules of the liquid. Capillarity: The molecules of a liquid have two types of forces acting on them. One is, cohesive force, the force among the molecules of the liquid only, and the other one is adhesive force, the force acting between the molecules of the liquid and some other substance. When the ADHESION between the liquid and the container wall is more than the cohesion among the liquid molecules, the liquid sticks to the container walls and this results in capillary rise. The opposite of this behavior happens when the cohesion is more than the adhesion – the capillary level dips. |

What is observed when dry rose petals are placed in the jar of sulphur dioxide |
Answer» In the said query, one of our users asked that what will be OBSERVED when dry red rose PETALS are placed in a jar of sulphur dioxide. In the answer, it was explained that sulphur dioxide is a good reducing agent and decolourises substances in the presence of water. THUS, when moisture is present, then sulphur dioxide will decolourise substances. Fresh rose petals have some moisture CONTENT, because of which they can be decolourised by the ACTION of sulphur dioxide. But since the rose petals are dry, therefore they are not decolouirsed by sulphur dioxide. In other words, no action is observed on rose petals. The same has been explained in the answer. |

Write the chemical formula of hydrated copper sulphate and anhydrous copper sulphate giving an activity illustrate how these are interconvertible |
Answer» a) HYDRATED copper sulphate – CuSO4.5H2O Anhydrous copper sulphate – CuSO4. Activity : (i) Heat a few crystals of copper sulphate in a dry boiling tube.
(ii) Add 2-3 drops of WATER on the sample of copper sulphate obtained after heating. After heating, water is REMOVED and salt turns white. If crystal are moisten again with water, blue colour reappears. Water of crystallization is fixed number of water molecules present in one formulae UNIT of a salt. Five water molecules are present in one formula unit of copper sulphate.
