THUS, when moisture is present, then sulphur dioxide will decolourise substances. Fresh rose petals have some moisture CONTENT, because of which they can be decolourised by the ACTION of sulphur dioxide.But since the rose petals are dry, therefore they are not decolouirsed by sulphur dioxide.
