Why does AAA criteria does not work ? give reason with example

Answer»

Knowing only angle-angle-angle (AAA) does not work because it can produce similar butnot CONGRUENT triangles. When you're trying to determine if two triangles are congruent, there are 4 shortcuts that will work. Because there are 6 corresponding parts 3 ANGLES and 3 SIDES, you don't need to know all of them.

Diagonals of a rhombus BEST intersect at A.(i) If m∠BTS = 110°, then find m∠TBS(ii) If l(TE) = 24, l(BS) = 70, then find l(TS)= ?

Answer»
(i) now, ∆TBS ,
BT = TS
so, ∠TBS = ∠TSB ------(1)
Given, ∠BTS = 110°
we KNOW, sum of all angles of triangle is 180°
so, ∠BTS + ∠TBS + ∠TSB = 180°
=> 110° + 2(∠TBS) = 180° [ from equation (1)]
=>2(∠TBS) = 180° - 110° = 70°
=> ∠TBS = 35°
hence, ∠TBS = 35°

(ii) Given, length of TE = 24
length of BS = 70
we know, diagonals of rhombus are perpendicular bisector to each other.
so, BA = AS = BS/2 = 35
similarly, TA = AE = TE/2 = 12
now, ∆ATS is right - angled triangle.
from Pythagorean theorem,
TS² = TA² + AS²
= 35² + 12² = 1225 + 144 = 1369
TS = \sqrt{1369}
TS = 37

the polynomial ax^3+3x^2-13 and 2x^3-5x+a when divided by x+2.if the remainder in each case is the same find the value of a

Answer»

If a NUMBER 'a' and a number 'b' are DIVISIBLE by a number 'N' then, a+b and a-b is also divisible by n

=> let the number be n which divides 62, 132 and 237 leaving a reminder r

=> the REQUIRED number then becomes H.C.F of 62-r, 132-r and 237-r

=> it could also be the H.C.F of
(132-r)-(62-r) and (237-r)-(132-r)

i.e. 70 and 105

=> H.C.F of 70 and 105 = 35

the required number n is 35.

A shopkeeper bought a T.V set for 34500.78 and sold it at a profit of 4365.87. What was the selling price of one T.V. set? Find the selling price of 34 such T.V sets.

Answer»

Given cost price of article= RS . 3450

And

Shopkeeper marks the price of the article 16% above the cost price

So,

1) Marked price of the article = 3450+16% of 3450 + 16*3450 DIVIDED 100 = 3450 +16x34.50+552= Rs 4002

And

Sale tax on article= 10%

2) Price paid by customer= 4002+10% of 4002+ 10*4002 divided by 100= 4002+400.20= 4402.20 Ans

the lcm of two numbers is 567 and their hcf is 9 if the difference the two numbers is 18 find the two numbers

Answer»

answer is : a=81 and b=63

use LCM*HCF=a*b

where a and b are the two nos.

By this U will arrive to an eqn b^2+18b-5103=0

Solve this equation

b is obtained as EITHER -81 or 63

ignore the -ve VALUE.

USING the +ve value of b we arrive at a. (using |a-b| = 18)
