4) the amount of money in the account every yearwhen Z10000 Pol deposited at compound in tuest bt8% per annum.

Answer»

Given,Principal amount P = 10000, Rate of Interest R = 8%, Time period n = 1 year, Amount = A

For compound interestA = P(1 + R/100)^nA = 10000(1 + 8/100)^1A = 10000(108/100)A = 108*100 = 10800

Therefore,Amount in account after one year = Rs 10800

30. In a parallelogram ABCD, E and F the mid points of sides AB and CD respectively Show that theline segments AF and EC trisect the diagonal BD.CD

Answer»

Given ABCD is a parallelogramHence AB || CD⇒ AE || FCAlso AB = CD (Opposite sides of parallelogram ABCD)⇒AE = FC (Since E and F are midpoints of AB and CD)In quadrilateral AECF, one pair of opposite sides are equal and parallel.

∴ AECF is a parallelogram.⇒ AF || EC (Since opposite sides of a parallelogram are parallel)

In ΔDPC, F is the midpoint of DC and FQ || CPHence Q is the midpoint of DQ by converse of midpoint theorem.⇒ DQ = PQ → (1)Similarly, in ΔAQB, E is the midpoint of AB and EP || AQHence P is the midpoint of DQ by converse of midpoint theorem.⇒ BP = PQ→ (2)From equations (1) and (2), we getBP = PQ = DQHence, the line segments AF and EC trisect the diagonal BD of parallelogram ABCD.

Answer»

A + B = 180-Ctake tan of both sides(tan A + tan B)/(1-tan A tan B) = - tan Cor

tan A + tan B + tan C = tan A tan B tan C

dividing both sides by Tan A tan B tan C

We get 1/tan B 1/ tan C + 1/tan A 1/ tan C + 1/ tan A 1/tan B = 1or cot B cot C+ cot A cot C + cot A cot B = 1

a parallelogram ABCD, E and F are themid-points of sides AB and CD respectivelyee Fig.8.31). Show that the line segments AFand EC trisect the diagonal BD.

Answer»

Parallelogram :

A quadrilateral inwhich both pairs of opposite sides are parallel is called a parallelogram.

Aquadrilateral is a parallelogram if

i)Itsopposite sides are equal

ii)its opposite angles are equal

iii)diagonals bisect each other

iv)a pair of opposite sides is equal and parallel.

Converseof mid point theorem:

Theline drawn through the midpoint of one side of a triangle, parallel to anotherside bisect the third side.

=========================================================

Given,

ABCD is a parallelogram. E and F are the mid-points of sides AB and CDrespectively.

To show: line segmentsAF and EC trisect the diagonal BD.

Proof,

ABCD is a parallelogram

Therefore, AB || CD

also, AE || FC

Now,

AB = CD

(Opposite sides of parallelogram ABCD)

1/2 AB = 1/2 CD

AE = FC

(E and F aremidpoints of side AB and CD)

Since a pair of opposite sides of aquadrilateral AECF is equal and parallel.

so,AECF is aparallelogram

Then, AF||EC,

AP||EQ & FP||CQ

(Since opposite sides of aparallelogram are parallel)

Now,

In ΔDQC,

F is mid point of side DC & FP || CQ

(as AF || EC).

So,P is themid-point of DQ

(by Converse of mid-point theorem)

DP = PQ — (i)

Similarly,

In APB,

E is mid point of side AB and EQ || AP

(as AF || EC).

So,Qis the mid-point of PB

(by Converse of mid-point theorem)

PQ = QB —(ii)

From equations (i) and (ii),

DP = PQ = BQ

Hence, the line segments AF and EC trisect the diagonal BD.
