1.

An object in shm oscillates with a period of 4.0s and an amplitude of 17 cm . How long does the object takes to move from 0 to 5.2 cm

Answer»

# ANSWER- 0.2s

# EXPLANATION-

# Given=

T=4s

A=17cm

x=5.2cm

# Solution

x = ASIN(WT)

5.2 = 17sin(wt)

But

w=2πf

w=2π/T

w=2π/4

w=π/2

Hence

SIN(πt/2)=0.3058

πt/2=17.81°

t=17.81/90

t=0.197s.

Approx t=0.2s

2.

Explain mirror formula

Answer» MIRROR FORMULA is the relationship between object DISTANCE (u), image distance (v) and FOCAL LENGTH. Mirror formula for concave Mirror = 1/f = 1/v + 1/u.
3.

An annular disc has a mass m, inner radius r and outer radius r 2 . The disc rolls on a flat surface without slipping. If the velocity of the center of mass is v, the kinetic energy of the disc is

Answer»

Total kinetic ENERGY = linear kinetic energy + rotational kinetic energy
= \frac{1}{2}mv^2+\frac{1}{2}I\omega^2

moment of inertia of ANNULAR DISC , I=\frac{1}{2}m[r^2+(2r)^2]

= \frac{1}{2}m[r^2+4r^2]=\frac{5}{2}mr^2

GIVEN, velocity of CENTRE of mass is v
in rolling motion,
v=r\omega
so, v = 2r\omega
hence, \omega= v/2r

now, total kinetic energy = 1/2 mv² + 1/2 × 5/2 × mr² × (v/2r)²
= 1/2 mv² + 5/16 mv²

= (13/16) mv²

Short note on Am modulator

Answer»

Amplitude modulation (AM) is a modulationtechnique USED in electronic communication, most commonly for transmitting information via a RADIO carrier wave. In amplitude modulation, the amplitude (signal strength) of the carrier wave is varied in proportion to that of the message signal being transmitted. The message signal is, for EXAMPLE, a function of the sound to be reproduced by a loudspeaker, or the light INTENSITY of pixels of a television screen. This TECHNIQUE contrasts withfrequency modulation, in which the frequencyof the carrier signal is varied, and phase modulation, in which its phase is varied.

Define reflection. explain the laws of reflection with suitable diagram

Answer»

law of reflection. NOUN. the principle that when a ray of light, RADAR pulse, or the like, is reflected from a SMOOTH surface the angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence, and the incident ray, the reflected ray, and the normal to the surface at the POINT of incidence all LIE in the same plane.

9.

Why do alpha particles affect the least penetrating power

Answer»

Beta particles have a mediumpenetrating power - they are stopped by a SHEET of ALUMINIUM or plastics such as perspex. Beta particles ionise atoms that they pass, but not as strongly as alpha particles do. This means that they have no MASS and no charge. ... Alpha particles are easy to STOP, gamma RAYS are hard to stop.

Which measures the variation among grays and refers to the darkness or lightness of a color.

Answer»

# Answer- value indicates lightness or darkness of a color

# Colour-
Color is the VISUAL byproduct of the spectrum of light as it is either transmitted through a transparent medium.

Any color have following three IMPORTANT aspects-
1)hue
2)value
3)saturation

# Value-
Value refers to the lightness or darkness of a color.

It indicates the quantity of light REFLECTED.
When REFERRING to pigments, dark values with black added are called SHADES of the given hue name. Light values with white pigment added are called tints of the hue name.

According to heisenberg's uncertainty principle, the product of uncertainties in position and velocities for an electron of mass 9.1 × 10–31 kg is

Answer»

According to Heisenberg's uncertainty principle
del x . del P > h/4 pi

del p = m . del V
so,
del x. m. del v > h/4 pi
so,
del x. del v > h/( 4 pi.m)

so putting values of h, pi, m (mass of electron)
we can get the MINIMUM uncertainty in product of position and velocity

What is the relation between surface tension and capillary action

Answer»

The surface TENSION acts to HOLD thesurface intact. Capillary action occurs when the adhesion to the surfacematerial is stronger than the cohesive FORCES between the water MOLECULES. The height to which capillary actionwill take water is limited by surface tension and gravity.

34.

Hey friends.....Good morning .....The potential energy of a freely falling object decreases progressively. Does this violate the law of conservation of energy? Why? Don't spam

Answer»

First Law of Conservation of energy states that "Energy can NEITHER be created nor destroyed".

It doesn't VIOLATE the Law of Conservation of energy because as the object is falling, its POTENTIAL energy is simultaneously being converted into KINETIC energy. And if the object now falls on some other body it will transfer this energy into that body.

Say if it falls on a ball then the ball will roll.
If it falls on the ground, this energy will get desipated in the form of heat.

I hope this helps.

And Good morning to you too. ☺️

Answer»

There are many things inside earth which constantly apply pressure TOWARDS there adjacent surface which is made up of tectonic plates. tectonic plates have their limits to be PRESSURISED when this pressure goes above the limit plates slide over ONE another which results in earthquake. this pressure is MOSTLY because of lava present inside earths surface.
