Hey friends.....Good morning .....The potential energy of a freely falling object decreases progressively. Does this violate the law of conservation of energy? Why? Don't spam

Answer»

First Law of Conservation of energy states that "Energy can NEITHER be created nor destroyed".

It doesn't VIOLATE the Law of Conservation of energy because as the object is falling, its POTENTIAL energy is simultaneously being converted into KINETIC energy. And if the object now falls on some other body it will transfer this energy into that body.

Say if it falls on a ball then the ball will roll.
If it falls on the ground, this energy will get desipated in the form of heat.

I hope this helps.

And Good morning to you too. ☺️
