The length and breadth of a rectangular sheet are 16.2 cm and 10.1 cm, respectively. The area of the sheet in appropriate significant figures and error is (A) 164 + 3 cm2 (B) 163.62 £ 2.6 cm2 (C) 163.6 + 2.6 cm2 (D) 163.62 + 3 cm.any one please ans me fast

Answer»

Given Length and breadth of a rectangular sheet are 16.2 cm and 10.1 CM respectively the AREA of the sheet in APPROPRIATE significant figures and error is

Let Δa = error in measurement of a

   Δb = error in measurement of b

   Δx = error in finding x

 Now maximum fractional error in x is

So  Δx /x = (Δa/a + Δb/b)

Now given length = (16. cm^2 ± 0.1) cm

       Breadth = b = (10.1 ± 0.1) cm

        Area = L x b

                  = 16.2 x 10.1

                  = 163.62 sq cm

Now rounding off the area we get area = 164 sq cm

If ΔA is error in area, then RELATIVE error is given as ΔA/A = Δl/l ± Δb/b

      = 0.1/16.2 ± 0.1/10.1

      = 1.01 ± 1.62 / 163.62

       = 2.63 / 163.62

It implies ΔA = A x 2.63 / 163.62 sq cm

                      = 163.62 x 2.63 / 163.62

                      = 2.63 sq cm

By rounding off to one significant FIGURE we get

ΔA = 3 sq cm

Now Area = A ± ΔA

                = (164 ± 3) sq cm

Conduct an experiment to find the diffusion of any two gases with a neat diagram

Answer»

Answer:

In the experiment to study diffusion using hydrogen chloride (Hull) gas and ammonia (NH4Cl), the experiment is CONDUCTED as follows:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The required apparatus are:

- 2 COTTON buds

-A test tube

-2 Glass stoppers

-Ammonia solution

-Hydrogen Chloride acid

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Procedure for the experiment:

1)Soak 1 cotton bud into ammonia solution and fix on one end of the testate.

2)Soak the other cotton wool on concentrated hydrochloric acid and fix on the other end of the test tube.

3)Use the glass stoppers to close both ends of the test tubes.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The results of the experiment:

-In the test tube, the two gases will diffuse towards each other.

-When the two gases meet inside the test tube they react with one another and form a ring of Ammonium chloride that is white in color.

- The ring is FORMED closer to the end where hydrogen chloride is. This is because hydrogen chloride gas is heavier and diffuses slower than ammonium chloride.

This experiment is used to test the rate of diffusion of gases and the speed at which they diffuse.

Or

In the experiment , of diffusion of two gases namely Ammonia and HCL gas, we observe that:

1. Ammonia being lighter in weight [ Molecular weight=17u] diffuses at a greater speed than HCl gas [molecular weight=36.5 u].

2. So NH3 gas travels a greater distance and after reacting with HCl gas a white dense solid ring called Ammonium Chloride is formed

Chemicals Equation:

NH3+ Hull ----->NH4Cl

Conclusion:

Lighter gases diffuse faster than heavier gases.

Explanation:

Correct option is

C

6 hours 50 MIN

Let the speed of the motorboat be 36x km/hr and that of the current water be 5X km/hr.
