a fast train takes 3 hours less than a slow train for journey of 600 km. if speed of the slow train is 10 km per hour less than fast train. find speed of both the trains.

Answer»

Slow train speed be x and fast be y
y-x = 10 km/hr (given)
Time difference is 3 hours

t2 = T1+3
For JOURNEY of 600 Kms, fast train takes 3 hours less time
Distance d= 600
d= speed * time
for fast train d = y*(t1+3)
slow train d= x*(t1)

600= YT1 +3y
600= xt1
By combination of the speeds , trial and error as the difference is given.

12 and 15 hours journey is an ideal case
Fast train takes 12 hours to cover 600kms with speed 50km/hr

And slow train takes 15 hours to cover 600kms with speed 40km/hr

Shamu purchased a dozen umbrellas and sold them at a loss equal to the selling price of 4 umbrellas. Find his loss percent and selling price of each umbrella, if he purchased those umbrellas for Rs 9072.

Answer»

Hi friend, here's your answer. ↓

Cost PRICE = ₹9072 for 12 umbrellas
cost price of ONE umbrella = 9072/12 = ₹756

selling price = that of 4 umbrellas
= 4 X 756 = ₹3024

Loss = CP - SP
9072-3024
= 6048

Loss %= L/CP x 100
= 6048/9072 x 100
= 3024/4536 x 100
= 1512/2268 x 100
= 2/3 x 100
= 200/3
= 66.66%

Loss = 66.66%

SP of each ☔ = SP/Total no. of umbrellas.
= 3024/12
= 756/3
= 252

SP of each ☔ = ₹252.

Therefore, Shamu INCURRED a loss of 66.66% and the selling price of each umbrella was ₹252.

A and B take 6 hr and 9 hr respectively to complete a work. A works for 1 hr and B works for 2 hr.(1) How much work is done in these 3 hrs?(2) How much work is still left?

Answer»

A completes full work in 6 hours and B in 9 hours

Work that A completes in 1 hour = 1/6 of the total
Work that B completes in 2 hours = 2/9 of the total

If both work one by one, work COMPLETED altogether will be 1/6 + 2/9

(LCM = 18)

= 1/6 X 3/3 + 2/9 x 2/2
= 3/18 + 4/18
= 7/18

Work DONE = 7/18
Work remaining = 18/18 - 7/18 = 11/18

There's your answer. Hope you found it useful, my friend .

A thief sees a jeep at a distance of 250 m, coming towards him at 36 km/h. Thief takes 5 seconds to realize that the police is approaching him by the jeep and started running away from police at 54 km/hr. But police realized after 10 seconds, when the thief starts running away, that he is actually a thief and started chasing at 72 km/hr. What is the total distance and total time covered if thief is caught?

Answer»

We convert the speeds to m/s

36 × 5/18 = 10m/s

54 × 5/18 = 15 m/s

72 × 5/18 = 20 m/s

In 5 seconds the police covers :

10 × 10 = 50m

Remaining DISTANCE = 250 - 50 = 200m

In 10 seconds the thief covers :

15 × 10 = 150m

The police covers 10 × 10 = 100m

The remaining distance out of the 200m is 100 m

The distance between the police and the thief is :

150 + 100 = 250 m

This is the relative distance between the thief and the police at the time the police BEGIN MOVING at 72km / h

The relative speed is :

20 - 15 = 5m/s

The time TAKEN to catch up with the thief is :

250/5 = 50 seconds

The distance covered is 250 m

Length 58cm height 25cm width 23cm equal to how many litres

Answer»

Length = 58 cm

BREADTH = WIDTH = 23 cm

HEIGHT = 25 cm

We KNOW,

Volume of cuboid

= (length × breadth × height) cubic units

Volume of the given cuboid

= (58 × 23 × 25) cm^3

= 33350 cm^3

Quantity of given Cuboid

= Volume of cuboid / 1,000

= (33350 / 1,000) litres

= 33.35 litres

Hence, the quantity of cuboid is 33.35 litres

Plssss answer..............

Answer»

9) 70 trees were planted by parth
90 trees were planted by pradnya
out of this 25 trees were planted by both of them
Trees planted by parth and pradnya = 70 + 90 - 25 = 135

10) TOTAL no of students = 125
out of this 80 students drink tea
60 students drink coffee
20 students drink both
125 = 80 + 60 + x - 20
x represents students who don't drink both
125 = 120 + x
x = 125 - 120
x = 5
so 5 students don't drink both tea or coffee

Please help............ Give solution

Answer»

I HOPE it can HELP you PLEASE MARK it BRAINLEIST

45.

Please solve my question step by step ☺☺☺☺if any one is give write solution then I will mark as brainlist

Answer»

Hey !!!

(A + B )'s work in ONE DAY = 1/20 ---1)
(B + C ) 's work in one day = 1/30 ----2)
(C + A ) 's work in one day = 1/40------3)

Adding thrice EQUATION

we get ,

(A + B + B + C + C + A ) = 1/20 + 1/30 + 1/40

2( A + B + C ) = 13/120

(A + B + C )'s work in one day = 13/240

A's alone work = 13/240 - 1/30 = 5/240 = 1/48

since A's alone work = 48days

SIMILARLY .
for B's alone work = 13/240 - 1/40 = 7/240 days

since B's alone work = 34 + 2/7 days

And finally

c's alone work = 13/240 - 1/20 = 1/240

c's alone work = 240days
