Calculate the temperature at which Fahrenheit and Celsius scales have the same reading

Answer»

At what temperature are Celsius and Fahrenheit the same?
The formulas for converting between degree Celsius and degree Fahrenheit are:
°F = (°C * 9/5) + 32
°C = (°F - 32) * 5/9
To FIND the temperature when both are EQUAL, we use an OLD ALGEBRA trick and just set ºF = ºC and solve one of the equations.
°C = (°C * 9/5) + 32
°C - (°C * 9/5) = 32
-4/5 * °C = 32
°C = -32 * 5/4
°C = -40
°F = (°F * 9/5) + 32
°F - (°F * 9/5) = 32
-4/5 * °F = 32
°F = -32 * 5/4
°F = -40
So the temperature when both the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales are the same is -40 degrees.

Anilione cannot be prepared by gabriel phthalimide reaction

Answer»

In GABRIEL phthalimide reaction, nucleophilic ATTACK of phthalimide to the carbon of alkyl halide takes PLACE, leading to the BREAKING of alkyl and halide bond and forming new carbon-nitrogen bond between alkyl and phthalimide. for the synthesis of aniline, arylhalide must be the reactant in place of alkylhalide. As we know it is difficult to break aryl and HALOGEN bond so nucleophilic substitution is difficult in aryl halide and hence aniline cant be formed using gabriel phthalimide reaction.

6.025*10^23 molecules of acetic acid are present in 500 ml of its solution the concentration of solution is

Answer» ACTUALLY the concentration of solution is also CALLED molarity of that solution which is equal to no.of moles of solute DIVIDED by VOLUME of solution in LITRE....

so......no. of moles of solute =6.025×10(23)/6.025×10(23)...= 1 mole.....

volume of solution =500 ml =0.5L

so molarity or concentration = 1/0.5 = 2 molar...

In an ionic bond ' electrostatic forces r uniformly distributed around the ions . why ?

Answer»

"A chemical BOND is a LASTING ATTRACTION between ATOMS, ions or molecules that ENABLES the formation of chemical compounds. The bond may result from the electrostatic force of attraction between oppositely charged ions as inionic bonds; or through the sharing of electrons as in covalent bonds."

IF7 is a hypervalent compound. why ?

Answer»

HYPERVALENT molecule is a molecule that CONTAINS one or more main group elements apparently bearing more than EIGHT electrons in their valence shells. Phosphorus pentachloride (PCL5), sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), chlorine trifluoride (ClF3), IF7 are the examples of hypervalent molecules

The law of definite proportion is not applicable to nitrogen oxide because

Answer»

It ABSOLUTELY is. But there are three nitrogen oxides:

N2ON2O nitrous oxide

NONO nitric oxide

NO2NO2 nitrogen dioxide

Each of these is a different compound and FOLLOWS the law of definite proportions.

But when nitrogen and oxygen combine under forcing CONDITIONS, all three oxides form.

48.

calculate the mass of potassium chlorate required to liberate 6.72 dm³ of oxygen at stp, molar mass of potassium chlorate is 122.5 g/ mol.

Answer»

Answer: 24.5 grams of potassium chlorate.

Explanation:

According to avogadro's law, 1 mole of EVERY SUBSTANCE occupy 22.4 L at STP and CONTAINS avogadro's number 6.023\times 10^{23} of particles.

2KClO_3(s)\rightarrow 2KCl(s)+3O_2(g)

According to stochiometry:

2 moles of KClO_3 produce 3 moles of O_2

Thus 3\times 22.4L=67.2L of O_2 is produced from 2\times 122.5=245g of KClO_3

6.72 L of O_2 is produced from =frac{245}{67.2}\times 6.72=24.5gof KClO_3

6.72dm^3Thus mass of potassium chlorate required to liberate of oxygen at STP will be 24.5 grams.

49.

Please answer me ...and explain..

Answer»

→2 Na + Cl₂ -----------> 2 NaCl

In the above equation, Chlorine exists as a diatomic gas, and thus its subscript 2 cannot be altered. Instead you'll have to balance, only by PLACING suitable coefficients to each participant in the above reaction.

Since there are 2 chlorine atoms on the reactants side, You MUST balance the number of chlorine atoms on either side by placing 2 in front of NaCl .

But then, we have 2 Sodium(Na) atoms on the products side which too can be balanced by placing 2 in front of Na on the reactants side.

→2 H₂ + O₂ -----------> 2 H₂O

If you get the first ONE, then there cannot be a problem balancing this one.

→N₂ + 3 H₂ -----------> 2 NH₃

There are 2 Nitrogen atoms on the reactants side, which means that we have to place a '2' in front of NH₃ in the product side in ORDER to balance the number of nitrogens;

Now as there are 6 hydrogen atoms on the products side, Place a '3' in front of H₂, so that there are 6 Hydrogen atoms on the reactant side too)

→N₂ + O₂ -------------> 2 NO

This one's the easiest as Balancing any one of nitrogen or OXYGEN will balance the whole equation.

→HCl + NaOH ----------> NaCl + H₂O

This is a simple acid-base reaction (also called neutralisation reaction), the reaction doesn't need to be balanced as it already follows the law of conservation of mass.

Hope it helps!!
