Explain about digestion proses with a flow chart

Answer»

The human digestive system consists of the GASTROINTESTINAL tract PLUS the accessory ORGANS of digestion (the tongue, salivary glands, pancreas, liver, and gallbladder). Digestion involves the breakdown of FOOD into smaller and smaller components, until they can be absorbed and assimilated into the body. The process of digestion has MANY stages. The first stage is the cephalic phaseof digestion which begins with gastric secretions in response to the sight and smell of food. The next stage starts in the mouth.

Explain Lac Operon Inducible Operon system????

Answer»

HELLO MATE

The lac operon is a negatively controlled inducible operon, where the INDUCER molecule is allolactose. In negative REPRESSIBLE OPERONS, transcription of the operon normally takes place. Repressor proteins are PRODUCED by a regulator gene, but they are unable to bind to the operator in their normal conformation.

23.

Explain the Operon Concept..........!!!!! give ANS.......

Answer»

OPERON CONCEPT

  • When E.coli cultured in a medium devoid of lactose the enzymes for lactose breakdown are not required.

  • So the three structural genes are not expressed.

  • In such a case the lac operon remains SWITCHED off or repressed.

  • Under such a CONDITION the repressor protein coded by regulator gene ( i gene) is produced.

  • The regulator gene is a gene which suppress the activity of structural genes.

  • The repressor protein bind to the operator and blocks RNA polymerase movement.

  • The operator gene thus directly control the structural gene as a result structural genes donot synthesis the mRNA and thus the enzymes are not synthesised this is called repression.

  • When E.coli is cultured in medium containing lactose, E.coli needs enzymes for the breakdown of lactose, so the lac operon is switched on or derepressed.

  • Under such a condition the lactose enters the E.coli and it GET modified into an inducer substance and binds with the repressor protein thus repressor protein structure is modified.

  • Repressor cannot bind to the operator gene. Therefore the operator gene is free it induces the RNA polymerase to bind with PROMOTER gene.

How is Eutrophication harmful to plants and animals in a watershed

Answer»

Eutrophication (from GREEK eutrophos, "well-nourished"),[1] or hypertrophication, is when a body of WATER becomes overly enriched with minerals and nutrients that INDUCE excessive growth of plants and algae.[2] This process may result in OXYGEN depletion of the water body.[3] One example is the "bloom" or great increase of phytoplankton in a water body as a response to increased levels of nutrients. Eutrophication is almost always induced by the discharge of nitrate or phosphate-containing detergents, fertilizers, or SEWAGE into an aquatic system.

Role of redox dysregulation in white matter anomalies associated with schizophrenia

Answer»

In schizophrenia, a developmental redox dysregulation CONSTITUTES one 'hub' on which CONVERGE genetic impairments of glutathione synthesis and environmental vulnerability factors GENERATING oxidative stress. Their TIMING at critical periods of neurodevelopment could play a decisive role in inducing impairment of neural connectivity and synchronization as observed in schizophrenia. In experimental models, such redox dysregulation INDUCES anomalies strikingly similar to those observed in patients. This is mediated by hypoactive NMDA receptors, impairment of fast-spiking parvalbumin GABA interneurons and deficit in myelination. A treatment restoring the redox balance without side effects yields improvements of negative symptoms in chronic patients. Novel interventions based on these mechanisms if applied in early phases of the disease hold great therapeutic promise.

Strain, switching and fluorescence behavior of a nine-membered cyclic azobenzene

Answer» CYCLIC azobenzenes with ring strain possess IMPROVED photochromic properties in comparison to their acyclic analogs. In this study, we report a nine-membered cyclic azobenzene. This cyclic azobenzene follows the STABILITY of the acyclic systems with the trans isomer as the thermally stable form indicating its flexible structure, YET at the same time, it displays FLUORESCENCE properties that are unusual for azobenzenes and require structural rigidity. The properties of the molecule are thus a result of a balance between the flexibility and rigidity of its structure.
