Found a strange file after adding a file to Microsoft OneDrive. After adding a file to my One Drive another file (batch file named security.bat) popped up the content of which contained the FOLLOWING text;
secedit /CONFIGURE /db test.sdb /cfg c:\windows\security\templates\valkergold.inf /quiet  Anyone SEEN this before. A GOOGLE search yielded no results at all, even after breaking it down into smaller search patterns. THANKS!

My laptop will not load windows, i keep getting an unmountable boot volume blue screen of death. Problem is my laptop doesnt come with a vista cd or recovery cd. So i need to purchase a vista disc from ebay and Im not SURE if my vista is 32 or 64 bit. Will either 32 or 64bit disc allow me to use recovery console? Or does it have to be an exact match? Im trying to avoid having to format and lose everything! Windows SERIAL sticker says windows vista HOME premium OEMAct. Any help is greatly appreciated!
THANKS!What Make/Model is this laptop?... maybe the model only came with 32 or 64 bit and you will then know which one it is. Another factor is how much memory the laptop has. If it came with less than 4GB then its almost always 32-bit, especially if 3GB in memory capacity from laptops i have worked with of that period.

If your Windows 7 installers is a full RETAIL version with product keys, then it's just a matter of connecting the hard drive and booting your disc and doing a clean install. I am confused.

I have been running Microsoft Publisher for 2 years. I write a newsletter on it, then save the file as a pdf and then email it to my staff. Today I tried to do that and it SAYS publisher cannot save the file. I called Microsoft directly but they will charge me $150 for the help. I did reinstall my PROGRAM today but nothing works. I WOULD appreciate any help. I am running an Acer laptop on Windows 7. I am not a user of  Microsoft Publisher, but I do WORK with PDF  a bit.

This program did not INSTALL properly. It didn't create a logo, a WINDOWS 8 app tile, Can't even find it in C:/ programfiles or in the uninstall program on windows. However when I START my computer it shows up in a little window on the desktop screen for a second. It bumps me out of any web page with anything remotely ADULT, even a page with the f word on it. I also tried looking in registry editor. Nothing. Any TIPS?Check their site for proper uninstall info...

If I go to the Dashboard and select Appearances and THEMES, I can see the home page of the site I am looking after. But how would I change the font, font-size, etc.

I can't see any CSS files?

You will need to have an area where  you can make adjustments w2ithout trashing the main site. One way is to have a local implementation of  WordPress s on your own computer. One I like is called 'Instant WordPress' and is free for personal USE.

EDIT: The font type size is fixed unless you install the font plug-in. Or else create your own template. Myself, I like to use templates off the shelf and make minor changes using plug-ins.

 But from my experience purchasing software on student discount while in college, the software that I bought back in 2002 on student discount through gradware.com (which went out of business) installed on my systems with no issues beyond 2004 when I graduated with my degree. Although the only software that I still use to date that I got on student discount is my Windows XP Pro OS, everything else is out of date.

 As well as the Visual Studio .Net 2002 had an annoying blat on COMPILED programs stating that its the "Student Edition" and "Not to be used for commercial use", and so other than tinkering with it and making programs for myself and ignore the annoying blat message, I couldnt really continue use with it past college because why have to work in this and then export the source and compile with a different fully paid version of Visual Studio .Net ... you pretty much need to buy the full blown OFFICIAL license if your going to continue to use it beyond college for commercial use. You might find the same problems with the software you have or get that it has a watermark or some sort of blat that gets tagged to projects and cant get rid of unless you buy the full blown official commercial use package of the software.If the MSDN AA is similar to other MSDN subscriptions, the keys will still be valid after the subscription expires. MSDN AA likely differs from an Ultimate subscription, though- so as others have said, check the EULA. In this case, it would be in the MSDN Terms of Service.

Hi everyone,
Sometime ago I ran an automatic BIOS update to my laptop. This was the second TIME since I bought it and the first time I had no problems. A short while after the update, I noticed that the sound driver always went inactive if I switched off my laptop and switched it on the next day, i.e. a full shutdown or a restart maybe necessitated by Windows updates or something of that sort. When I switched it back on, the sound driver was inactive. The first time I did not think much of it and simply reinstalled the driver. I had to re-download it, though from the HP website. After that it has happened twice. This does not occur when I hibernate or put it to sleep. Only after a full shutdown or re-start. Last time I checked the programs folder to see if the driver had vanished. It was there, but simply inactive on the status bar. Normally I can see the driver in the Control Panel as well, but when that happens, it is nowhere to be found. When I re-install it, at some point it tells me that the folder already exists and will be overwritten, which proves that it is actually still installed, but the speaker icon on the status bar tells me that there is no hardware plugged in (whereas it is). I did some research on this through Microsoft updates to see if I had any updates that were causing this. I read somewhere about a particular update, but when I checked through my update history, I did not have that update installed that was purported to cause this PROBLEM, so I left them untouched.
Also I have had problems with computer restart. I use AVG free for antivirus. If I install updates that require restart and I do so it works without fail, but if I initiate restart myself, or it has to go through Windows updates that require a restart, the laptop pretends to shut down (i.e tells me shutting down), the screen goes dark after going through the motions, but stays on (fan running, power LED on).
Both of these problems began a short while after the last BIOS update, not immediately, maybe like 2 to 3 weeks, that is why I initially did not link them to that.
My laptop is HP Compaq Presario CQ58, running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit, 4.00 GB RAM, Processor type, AMD E-300 with Radeon HD graphics 1.30 GHZ. Sound driver is Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Updated Realtek HD Audio Drivers and lost all sound
It seems a few have issues with Realtek sound.
I have already checked out the device manager angle. I forgot to mention this initially. There is no indication any driver is missing. jason2074, I will try the update link and give you feedback

I plugged in two USB FlashDrives into XP.
Both had been formated on this XP and then put data on them. One was a 4GB, FAT formated for my W98SE, AT machine. The other was a 16GB, NTFS formated for USE between the XP and a VISA Laptop. My only Internet is the VISTA.
I MISTAKENLY allowed the XP to do a ScanDisk /with fix and a Defrag on the 4GB, Fat Flashdrive.
Is this legal? Did I trash the data? I thought things were fine untill I DISCOVERED some bad checksums.
With the two USB FlashDrives in XP, I did a "COPY" the entire 4GB to an empty folder on the 16GB. And begin to find bad checksums in the "Copied" data.
I used MemTest86 on this XP an it passed fine.
Help?Personally I never  had that exact problem.
My problem has always been the cheap flash chips I got off eBay.
All of the brand name stuff is good, IMHO.
An I use Windows XP a lot.

If it is not a hardware failure, most likely thing is the wrong drivers were installed somehow. Windows sucks when it has  the wrong drivers.
Look in device manager.  Any yellow  marks?

If two or more users wish to share objects in the same visual layer, they NEED to used the shared documents area.

I have these custom file icons i use to label all my movie folders but im trying to figure out how i can keep them when transfering the file from one computer to another. But do you really mean icons or images?
Actual icon are of type ICL and can either be by themselves, in a library or embedded inside a file.

The folder image can be called 'folder thumbnail' and can be altered.  Is this what your want? In windows 8 it has to be on the  desktop before you can change it. You can use a image file inside of the folder. A GIF with size 72 by 64 will work.

If so, that information will be stored in a desktop.INI file stored within the folder. This file is normally hidden, even if you have Explorer set to show hidden files. Depending on how you are copying the data, desktop.ini might not be being copied, or the icon setting might not apply (It uses a local SYSTEM path to point to the icon file or resource). O I didnt realize you couldnt see the custom tab in propeties on windows 8 w/o the folder being on the desktop.

Im actually making renders from anime and using converticon.com to create the .ico file type to make the renders appear instead of the yellow folders. Their all being saved into my document folder so they arent hidden or anything in the case of what BC_Programmer was saying.

He is incorrect- the Customize tab appears on any folder.
I was not referring to the icon being hidden. The data dictating the Folder icon is saved in a desktop.ini file. Since it is an external and you are talking about moving it between computers, it is likely it appears under different drive letters. On the PC you set the icons on for example the folder might be S:\somefolder and the icon is S:\somefolder\youricon.ico, so that specific path get's stored in the hidden desktop.ini file. When you plug it into another PC, the external might be a different letter, which means the icon is P:\somefolder\youricon.ico, but the desktop.ini still specifies S: so the folder icon cannot be retrieved.

If you use notepad, you should be able to enter the folder path of desktop.ini; for example, P:\somefolder\desktop.ini and open it, even though it won't normally be shown. You can then edit it to remove the path specification, and just say "youricon.ico" for example.

Hi there, I have some data for 10000 cases in 10000 raws in Excel RANGED from Column A to S. I want all the raws transposed and been copied in the same column i.e., column T. I have tried Macros but it does not go beyond the first two raws. A database has to be indexed  to be useful.

The subject is much to wide and deep to cover here. It is more that knowing how to program. In fact, you will have more good RESULTS if you just skip over the theory and the programming. LOOK this over:

It is helpful  if the full text is in manuscript form. Which MEANS no SPECIAL formatting or fonts. Just tests. Or else choose a tool that will ignore the formatting of a Word document and just index the text.

While DOWNLOADING a game my son managed to turn .exe files to .exe.lnk. files.    Now none of the programs work.  Anyone know how to fix this??  There is a batch file fix that can cure this. Had to rely on this in the past for a friends system that somehow tons of files got double file extensions, and only the first extension belonged and the last extension was wrong etc.

A simple Code: [SELECT] rename *.exe.lnk *.exe will not fix this as I have tried, as for the rename function by itself can only change the last .xxx place holder in the file name, so if you ran rename *.exe.lnk *.lnk you end up with FileName.exe.exe in which now you need to drop one of the .exe's, although the files would probably launch ok now that the file association is met that STATES that its an exe which it is, however the EXTRA .exe is still sloppy, especially if anything calls to the FileName.exe explicitly where FileName.exe.exe would be different and a mismatch.

I have recently update to windows 8, DUE to errors i lost my partitions and lost most of my passwords to all my sites. I had all my passwords saved on passcards, I used roboform and never NEEDED to remember them. I have used hiren's boot to recover them and did find them but EVERYTIME I go to open them it says "wrong file format", and I put them in the same folder as the other passcards. Im lost 100%!

I dont know if my recovery program didnt recover all parts of the file... or is there another way to fix this issue. Im in need of some desperate HELP because I have many sites I cant get into and a little relieved that this is only password I remember... probaly because all the rest of my sites I used a roboform autogenerated passwords + some prifix...there aint no cracking it.

According to the detections, it is a VARIANT of Zbot (Zeus), a trojan that attempts to steal confidential information (online credentials, and banking details) from a compromised computer and send it to online CRIMINALS via a command-and-control server.

I know it's old.  Does anyone else still use PALM Desktop?  (I stopped using the PDA a long time ago, but I love the Desktop).  I've got Version 4.2.

Two weeks ago, when I opened it...6 to 7 weeks of calendar and contact data were missing -- plus ALL my entries no longer had any Categories that I had assigned them.  Just like that.  The day before it worked PERFECTLY.  The next it didn't.

I retrieved a backup from Carbonite, and learned that I cannot IMPORT the backup...because that file extension is .dat - the only type of FILES Carbonite has been able to find.   All elements of Palm (Calendar/Datebook, Names, Memos, etc) have an extension (when exported) of .dat   However, the Pilot Archive file extension is .dba. 

Just like Carbonite, I do not see .dba files in any of the PALM folders on my computer.

Any suggestions from those of you still using Palm Desktop?  Would GREATLY appreciate it!  I'm resigned to not using the application in future.  But I would like to restore full database for reference, if at all possible.

I am having an issue when I start up my laptop (windows 7), I loaned my laptop to my brother, and now every time I stat up/log onto my COMPUTER, an image of a *censored* girl pops up. I have tried deleting the file but it didn't work. I USE this computer as a communal computer at work and WOULD greatly appreciate if someone could help!!! (p.s I asked my brother and he says he 'forgets' how to do it, and after asking him for the millionth time, he still can't remember) PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! Does it come up in Safe Mode?
Try logging in as another user. BTW, having separate user accounts for family members helps control this kind of problem.
If it is a SPECIFIC program. scan for start up programs that would do that.

I am fairly new to excel and have a question in regards to an easy way to retrieve data from another table using an ARRAY formula.
I have two files that I am using that contain 2 sets of data with columns for name, address, city, and state. The red highlighted data needs be used to find the blue data’s first column, which is a possible name for the company found from the red data. The issue is that the blue data is LARGER and has ROWS of data that will not be found in the other table. I have a small sample of the spreadsheet attached.

I attempted to use an if/and statement :
=IF(AND(D2=C8I:I,E2=J:J),H2,0), but found out that it does not work with arrays and only found the first address by DEFAULT.

How would I set up a formula to retrieve the possible names using criteria from the blue data such as if the address and city match, then input that company name? Or is there a way to format it to try another formula?

Whever I open my profile I am notified that the dolby audio driver has failed to start. I have attempted repairing and reinstalling. I get sound when on youtube, and skype, but Team Fortress 2 and the like are completely mute. How can I repair this, or, alternatively, how can I get sound through games in some other way.Welcome to the forum.

Not all PCs or laptops have Dolby sound. Some USERS report problems with Dolby only after making a change to the SYSTEM, such as a n update.

When it comes  to editing PDF I am a novice. Never e3ver done it.

Here is what I am doing. I have some PDF,  just t four pages.  Page three has a list of questions that I need to study. I also has the references whee I can FIND the answers.  I do this about about once every 6 weeks.

What I want is a new document with just the questions on that page. It can be in another format. It could be in DOC or REF or even TXT format. Then I can edit it in my word processor and create page breaks as nee4eed. I will find the answers  and  write down my comments under each question.

So, basically, how can I convert the PDF to a format I KNOW how to edit. I have tried a few things and the results were not what works for me. I tried Foxit and got stuck. I tried Libre Office and DESTROYED the document. The on-line service wants my email. I don't want more SPAM.

Any suggestions?   


Something that you can edit is either JPG or Word document, so you are looking for a decent PDF to JPG or Word converter. At Cnet 123 PDF Converter and Able2Extract have pretty good rating from both users and editors and in description it says they can convert to both doc and jpg. Try these 2, they should work.
And yes I 100% agree that Libre Office is a weird software because after I installed and deleted it, all my documents (doc and spreadsheets) were of unknown format (my PC stopped recognizing the type of the document).THANKS for the tip. I downloaded the program you mentioned.

With a home assembled computer running Vista Ultimate, and as one who has struggled with a dial up connection a number of years, I am totally thrilled with my new DSL connection. I have some questions for those 'in the know'.

Would I benefit from a brand new operating system such as Win7 or 8?

I have several home telephones, the sort that operate off one UNIT powered by house current and the two others merely plug into AC outlets. I am having difficulty getting the modem noise off these. (My provider gave me some filters that I put in the phone lines that seem to help a little) How can I improve this situation?

I hear modem noise (sometimes) on an AM radio in the same room with the computer. ?

I had Win mail with the dial up. My provider has given me a Yahoo mail program. This seems to work OK but if I could keep Windows Mail I would probably do so, (Thataway I wouldn't need learn the new program, (I'm old) but could keep my contact list. I've had some difficulty transposing my contact list into the new program. Can I have both concurrently?

There is no significant difference when using different operating systems with DSL.

The DSL uses frequencies above human hearing, starting about 19,000 cycles. However, the spectrum extends well up into higher regions and AM radio may pick up some of the artifacts of the modem.

Filters have to be installed on every phone in your house. If you continue having a problem with your telephones, you may wish to consider upgrading some of your telephones. But nothing fancy as needed, just a plain telephone should work fine as long as it has a filter on it.

My personal experience with DSL reach me to believe that most of the time it's the telephone companies fault. A good DSL service requires the telephone LINE to be in pristine condition with no access drop wires and bad connections. Sometimes aligned MANNER just too lazy to check and see if there are unused drop wires on your line.

Local phone company has tried to convince me. There's something wrong with my indoor wiring and the water be do it for me for a one-time fee of $55. Each time I have declined because I know how to use a voltmeter two and my indoor wiring does not have bad connections.
After calling the phone company for many, many, many, many times  he finally got fixed. The problem was somewhere in one of their lines.
Hope you don't have as many problems as I did. But if you do, call them up on a regular basis and be very polite and explained to him what the problem is. Once in a while you'll get one other operators that will really help you with your problem and do everything they can to fix the problem. It just takes patience.

About a month AGO I started taking an on line computer class- the beginning guide to MICROSOFT Word 2010.  I have been going to the public library for a few hour everyday to do my course work.  When I signed up for the course I called the library and asked what version of Word was installed on the computers.  They said version 2010 so I started the program.  I found out today August 1st that the library has updated all its software to Microsoft 2013.  I don't have a lot of computer experience and I am taking a 6 month online class.  Can I continue using a 2010 workbook and perform my practice activities and tests on the 2013 version at the library? Microsoft takes care to make its software backward compatible. You should have not trouble using the new software with an older tutorial.
Now if you com e upon some detail that  does not seem right, just  use the help feature.
Example: Let's say you want to enter a  symbol into the test. The method in the tutorial does not seem to be right.  Go to the help menu and kook for 'insert symbol' to see how it is done.

All MS Office 2010 documents will work in MS Office 2013. By the way, if the two versions of Word involved were 2003 and 2007, this idea of using the newer version for a class on the older version would definitely not be practical.  The 2003 and earlier versions had the older menu bar design, not the newer ribbon design.

My good friends son is in college and needs software to use in his classwork. Personally owned computers hardly existed in the 1970's when I was in school so I don't know what to download for him. He knows it will cost $. What criteria do I need to ASK him what the software is needed for. I'm guessing maybe something like Microsoft 2007 suite SP3, Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. Suggestions?

In some places use of Linux based material is acceptable. Linux is free to use and commercial support is available for those that need it.

Cameron, can you clarify that?  Why would he need to purchase the new version all over again?  If he bought Office 2013 as a freshman, he could surely use it during 4 years of college.

since you are getting Office on a subscription basis, you will get updates for free so when the next version of Office comes out, he will get it free of charge whereas if you bought a copy of 2013 outright you would need to purchase the new version all over again.

Nothing would stop you from using it the entire time and I doubt any possible 2015 features could really make said new version particularly desirable, myself.

I'll use the laptop in general for programming, and development. I'm not advanced, I'll only start the university this year, but I have some experience with C++ , java and android development.

HELP!!! I am so FRUSTRATED!!! While we were preparing to switch from Windows 7 to Windows 8 my boyfriend SAVED all of his music that was in iTunes to a portable hard drive. We checked to make sure they were all there and made the switch. Now we are trying to put all the music back onto the DESKTOP and ALL of his music is now in XML format!! We have searched for a converter online but nothing will take it from xlm to mp3. The files were originally music files........ HELP!!!! There are HUNDREDS of songs and dozens of albums. We will never be able to find them all again if we need to start over........I've not really got the best NEWS unfortunately.

XML is a file format that stores lots of text data, not music.  What I imagine this file contains is in fact your library information such as names of songs, their artists.etc and not the music itself.  However, if this music was bought from iTunes themselves you should be able to download it again.

You could try opening this XML file in a text editor like Notepad to view the contents as it may at least give you a list of the tracks that need replaced.

A year or so ago I successfully restored my C drive backup image onto a new internal HD. I can not remember the details though. Yesterday I was trying to use Reflect Free Edition to image an external HardDrive and restore that image onto another external HardDrive. Thought that would be faster/easier than copy/paste. Neither the source or DESTINATION external drives are partitioned. I could not do the restore because I kept GETTING an ERROR message that the source image could not be found. I have watched several YouTube videos and read the Macrium forums and can not understand what is going wrong. I do know the major limitation of the Free Edition is that it can only image/restore WHOLE partitions. Is that my problem? Do I have to store my back-up images in separate partitions? RIGHT now I do not. My back-up images are in folders along with other folders on my external HardDrive. Similarly, does the destination drive have to be a separate partition with 100% unallocated space? IOW, is it not possible to restore an image onto a drive which already has other folders/files on it? Finally, one of the videos talked about initializing drives. Neither of the external harddrives have been initialized although both are recognized by my PC. Thanks for your help.Biggest issue is usually USB connectivity ( drivers loaded ) at the lowest level such as DOS or Linux command shell, which then allows for the system to access the external HDD's data. Otherwise you can get file not found errors because it can not access the file.

Are you using a boot cd or dvd to get an OS loaded with the driver support for accessing the external HDD that is USB?

Does this program (some PROGRAMS have that) have the function, which alerts you if you do a MISTAKE and where you did it? THANK you

The TOUCHPAD on my Dell Inspiron 1525 (Win 7) will not scroll so I was going to check the settings but I see none for this on the Synaptics control panel. The vertical and horizontal scrolling zones are indicated via viewing the touchpad itself, but the control panel has no 'settings'. My HP 6715b machine has Synaptics touchpad with the settings that I need on my Dell. I'll attach screen shots of both machines to show the difference in control panel options.
I've tried updating the driver and I see no downloads available on Dell support site. What can I do to get this fixed?

[attachment deleted by admin to conserve space]The options in the Synaptics control panel seem to vary depending on the make and model machine.  I just opened the panel on my HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC and it is similar to your HP but not identical.  For example, I see no option for one-finger scrolling, only two-finger scrolling.  Since my version of Synaptics is 7.5, a later version than yours, I would think it would feature the one-finger scrolling option.  But, my notebook PC was a model at the lower end of the price spectrum.  So, again, the make and model machine may be the key factor here. The touchpad top has the lines on it indicating vertical/horizontal scroll zones (shown in the attachment below).
This was my brother-in-law's PC until recently when he bought a more POWERFUL all-in-one, then sent this Dell to me.
I just talked to my sister earlier today but I forgot to ask if this touchpad had scroll ability when they had it.
It had Vista Hm Basic 32bit OS on it when I got it, and I've since transferred the hard drive with Win 7 Hm PREM 32bit from a Toshiba I own. But I don't see why a change in OS from Vista to Win 7 would have anything to do with touchpad function.
I believe this machine did have scroll function at one time and I'd sure like to get it back.

My friend and I have the exact same computer: a Toshiba SATELLITE C55t-A5305 with an AMD A6 processor. We run Windows 8.

The only difference, though, is that when our computers are idle, with nothing running, when we open up the task manager we see that my computer is running an incredibly high percentage of its memory while her's isn't. I don't KNOW much about the technical aspects of computers, but I'm sure that's not right.

When she and I try to run games, we can be running the exact same game and mine has far more lag than her's does. My computer just doesn't run nearly as fast as her's, even though our computers should be identical.

Here's a picture of what my task manager looks like when my computer is idle. Does anyone have any ideas about what's wrong, or any suggestions of what I should do?

I showed the things that are running the most memory, and I figured if anything stood out as strange it would be up there.

Unless you're talking about a description of my problem. I really don't know what else I can say about it. I noticed this problem within 2 months of me purchasing the computer, but I really didn't think anything of it until my friend bought the same one and her's ran faster than mine did. I bought this computer back in January.

If there's any more information I can give to help figure out what the problem might be, let me know.Even when I shut my computer down and restart it, my memory is as high as it is right now. Unfortunately I don't have a snapshot of my friend's task manager for comparison...

I don't know about a virus; I ran a virus protection program and didn't find anything, but of course, that doesn't always work. I am hoping someone can help.
I have one spreadsheet where we log data and we REGULARLY will add new lines to the bottom.  The data is logging non-compliance's so will be numbered sequentially.  What I need to see if it is possible to do is we have a second sheet which we want to automatically update from the first, the second sheet though is SET out differently and so only some of the information needs to be pulled across.  I can link the two sheets on 1 line, but not sure if I can automatically get it to use the next line from the first spreadsheet to update when I create a new sheet in the second.

Linking to other cells, sheets, books and objects is a standard f thing  of most spreadsheets. You can have more that one spreadsheet open at the same time.

You need to do some tutorials
When you come up with a formula that has use in many areas, you need to DECIDE if you just want to use copy and past to duplicate the formula or if you shouyld do something more advanced.
Most spreadsheet programs have a script language beyond the simple math formulas. One is VBBA for Excel.  The script is put in a hidden area and used as a new function. I like  to imagine that the spreadsheet is a sheet of paper and I write t he script on the backside of the paper.

But VBA does have a learning curve. It is a full language.

I have a file that it now says it can't open because the file is invalid or corrupted. I have tried all the basic and obvious fixes like the built in recovery in word and rename the file extension, trying to export it out, EVEN mess with the file header (had help on that one). Even downloaded some 3rd party software that was supposed to be able to recover these files, but no luck.
It either gives me the error message again or have been able to get it to open, but it just comes out as joberish or pages of little boxes. Hope someone has miracle fix quick. Need this file for work quickly. Was this file originally created in Word 2013?  If not, then what software was used to create it? I'm trying to email myself a copy of lab RESULTS from my hospitals patient portal. It says:
  "Health records are sent via Direct, a secure email system used to transmit health information to participating organizations and individuals. You can only send health records to a Direct email address - normal email addresses from services LIKE Gmail or Yahoo will not work. Contact your doctor's office to get their Direct email address so you can securely send them a copy of your records.

Your information will be sent to your doctor from a Methodist Healthcare Direct email address. Because this is a hospital-to-doctor communication, you will not receive a confirmation that the message was received or receive any replies to the message.

How do I find out if my ISP provides a direct email account or not? Call them...most ISP's do.I called my ISP and set up an email account but it looks to be similar to yahoo mail only it ends with .net instead of .com. I tried sending the secure hospital records email to this account which also failed. Same error message. Quote

there are clauses that restrict what you can do with installation media.

b.   Electronic Download. If you purchased and downloaded the software online, you may make one copy of the software on a disc or other media in order to install the software on a computer. You may also use it to reinstall the software on the licensed computer.

Even when  thee is  no violation on Copyright Law, there are restrictions on use of media. Therefore an IT department that wanted to make installation easier for technicians would have to run it by the legal department. Microsoft does have special provisions for an enterprise  that wants to install Windows or Office  on many computers at once.
