My work 720 at uniform speed of 2 metre per second then runs at uniform speed of 4 metre per second for 5 metre and then again walk at speed of 1 metre per second for 3 what is the average speed

Answer»

Answer:

Average Speed = Total Distance/Total Time

Total Time = 1 minute (60s) + 2 minute (120S) = 3 minutes or 180 seconds

Total Distance = (Speed1 x Time1) + (Speed2 + TIME2)

= (1m/s x 60s) + (3m/s x 120s)

= 60m + 360 m = 420 m

Average Speed = 420m/180s = 2.333m/s or 8.39999 kmph

Good LUCK

Mosquitoes are growing at a rate of 10%a year. If there were 200 mosquitoes inthe begining. Write down the number of mosquitoes after (i) 3 years (ii) 10 years(iii) n years.

Answer»

ANSWER:

I)260

II)400

iii)20n

Explanation:

(I) I = PTR/100

200*3*10/100

=60

so 60+200=260 mosquitoes after 3years

(ii ) 200*10*10/100

= 200

so 200+200=400 mosquitoes after 10 years

iii 200*N*10/100

= 20 n

so 200 +20n mosquitoes after n years

TWO CONDUCTING WIRE OF THE SAME MATERIAL AND OF EQUAL LENGTH AND EQUAL DIAMETER ARE FIRST CONNECTED IN SERIES AND THEN PARALLEL IN A CIRCUIT ACROSS THE SAME POTENTIAL DEFFERENCE THE RATIO OF HEAT PRODUCED IN SERIES AND PARALLEL COMBINATION WOULD BE ? A)1:2 B)2:1 C) 1:4 D) 4:1 PLEASE TELL EXPLANATION ALSO

Answer»

let RESISTANCE of each resistor be R then

EQUIVALENT resistance in parallel CONNECTION is R/2

and equivalent resistance in series connection is 2R

HEAT produced = IR*2

ratio of heat produced is I(2R)*2/I(R*2)

ANS = 4:1

7.

A bus starting from rest moves with a uniform motion acceleration of 0.2 meter per second square for 4 minutes .what is the speed and distance.

Answer»

Initial velocity of BUS(U)= 0m/s
Let the FINAL velocity of the bus be v.
acceleration=0.2m/s^2
time=4s
we know that a=(v-u)/t
0.2=v-0/4
0.2=v/4
v=0.8m/s

Now distance (s)=ut + 1/2 at^2
s=0*4+1/2*0.2*16
s=4 meters

A train is travelling at a speed of 90 km per hour .breaks are applied so as to produce a uniform acceleration of 0. negative 5 metre per second . find thow far the train will go before it goes to rest?

Answer»

v=u+at 90km/hr=90*1000/3600m/s=25m/s

0=25-0.5t

t=50s

s=ut+0.5at^2

s=25*50-0.5*0.5*50^2

s=1250-625

s=625m

11.

Why does resisitivity of a material increase with temperature whereas in case of semiconductors, it decreases ?

Answer»

In semiconductors free electrons available for conduction are very LESS, hence when temp increases valence electrons jumps into upper energy layer & BECOMES free electrons, hence conductivity increases , hence resistance decreases.
in metals there are already many free electrons, which is called 'ocean' of electrons, but when temp increases atoms i.e. their crystal structures starts vibrating( this phenomenon is difficult to understand bcoz its quantum physics phenomena) which OBSTRUCTS free electrons, hence resistance decreases.
but still resistanse increased in metals at any particular temp is far far less than that of decreased resistance in semiconductors.

Why friction is called as necessary evil ??

Answer»

Is is a general MISCONCEPTION that friction always OPPOSES motion between two bodies in contact ,but actually it opposes relative motion between two bodies in contact .In many CASES friction is found as the cause of motion .without friction it is impossible to imagine this world.Friction is evil in mechanical machines CAUSING wear and tear of parts.Friction causes wear and tear of tyre but in turn is impossible to ROTATE tyre…and many more.

a boy of mass 50kg running at 5m/s jumps on to a 20kg trolley travelling in the same direction at 1.5 m/s .what is their common velocity

Answer» M1V1 + m2v2 = (M1+M2)V

M1 - MASS of boy =50kg

V1 - SPEED of boy= 5m/s

M2 mass of trolley = 20kg

V2 - speed of trolley = 1.5 m/s

V - final velocity

Solving for v , we get , v = (250+30)/70

V = 4m/s

an athlete completes one round of a circular track of diameter 200m in 40 seconds what will be the distance covered and the displacement at the end of 2 minutes 20 seconds

Answer»

length AB=200m=2R

time taken to complete ONE round=40 sec

let the starting point be A

in 140 sec or 2 min 20 sec number of rounds completed=14040=3.5

distance traveled=3.5 * (2*π*R)=3.5*2*π*100 m=2200 m (approx)

displacement refers to change in position from the starting point.the final point is B

as after 3.5 revolutions(starting from A) the athlete will be at B.

displacement=200m
