Answer:

very easy

the answer is 10g/13

Explanation:

let the tension on block A be T

therefore

the tension on the string connected to block B will be 2T

for block A

T=2a

therefore

2T=4a. --------(I)

for block B

mg-2T=5a

now let acceleration of block A be a so acceleration of block b will be a/2

now substitute the value

5g-2T=5a/2. --------(II)

from eqn I and II we get 5g-5a/2=4a

solve it and you will get a = 10g/13

Applications of pressure due to solids

Answer»

Answer:

Pressure is the ratio of force to the surface AREA over which it is exerted. Though solids exert pressure, the most interesting examples of pressure involve fluids—that is, gases and liquids—and in particular water and air. Pressure plays a number of important roles in daily life, among them its function in the operation of PUMPS and hydraulic presses. The maintenance of ORDINARY air pressure is essential to HUMAN health and well-being: the body is perfectly suited to the ordinary pressure of the atmosphere, and if that pressure is altered significantly, a person may experience harmful or EVEN fatal side-effects.

A thief drives his motorcycle at a speed of x km/hr. The Policemen started chasing him in a jeep after 4hours and catches in 4 hours. If the average speed of jeep of policemen is 40 km/hr, then calculate thespeed in km/hr for the thief's motorcycle

Answer»

Given :

Speed of motorcycle = X km/hr

Speed of JEEP of policemen = 40 km/hr

Policemen started chasing thief after 4 hour and catches the thief in 4 hour.

To FIND :

Speed of motorcycle.

Solution :

When policemen catches the thief jeep then distance traveled by both thief and policemen will be same.

Time TAKEN by thief = 4+4 = 8 hour

Distance traveled in hour hour = x×8 = 8X km

Time taken by policemen = 4 hour

Distance traveled by policemen jeep = 4×40 = 160 km

As both the distance is same

Therefore 8x=160

x = 20 km/hr

So speed of thief will be 20 km/hr

Is its possible for a moving body to be in equilibrium.

Answer»

Answer:

A body is SAID to be in equilibrium if the net force acting on the body is zero. By NEWTON's second law, the acceleration of such OBJECTS will be zero. Zero acceleration implies a constant velocity. So an OBJECT in equilibrium can either have zero velocity or a constant non-zero velocity.

What is stability factor

Answer»

The extent to which the COLLECTOR current IC is stabilized with varying ICO is measured by a stability factor S. It is defined as the rate of change of collector current IC with respect to the collector base leakage current ICO, keeping both the current IB and the current gain β constant.

S=∂IC∂ICO=dICdICO=ΔICΔICO

The collector current for a CE amplifier is given by

IC=βIB+(1+β)ICO

Differentiating the above equation with respect to IC, we get

I =β(dIB)(dIC)+(1+β)(dICO)(dIC)

Therefore, 1−β(dIB)(dIC)=1+βS

S = ((1+β))((1−β(dIB)(dIC)

From this equation it is clear that this factor S should be as small as possible to have better thermal stability.

Stability factor S’ and S”:

The Stability factor S’ is defined as the rate of change of IC with VBE, keeping ICO and β constant.

S’=∂IC∂VBE=ΔICΔVBE

The stability factor S” is defined as the rate of change of IC with respect to β, keeping ICO and VBE constant.

S’=∂IC∂β=ΔICΔβ

The small VALUE of stability factor INDICATES good bias stability whereas large value of stability factor indicates poor bias stability. Ideal value of stability factor is zero.

For fixed bias stability factor reduces to

S = 1 + β

Since β is large quantity, this is a very poor bias stable circuit.

For collector to base bias stability factor is

S =((1+β))(1+β(RC(Rc+RB))

As can be seen, this value of the stability factor is smaller than the value obtained by fixed bias circuit.

For self-bias,

S =(1+β)(1+RBRE)(1+β+RBRE)

As can be seen, the value of S is equal to one if the ratio RB/RE is very small as compared to 1. As this ratio becomes comparable to unity, and beyond towards infinity, the value of the stability factor goes on increasing till S = 1 + β. This improvement is the stability up to a factor equal to 1 is achieved at the cost of POWER dissipation.

calculate potential energy when a point charge Q is placed on the equator of a short dipole of dipole moment p at a distance of r from it

Answer»

electric potential energy WOULD be zero

we have to calculate potential energy when a point CHARGE Q is placed on the EQUATOR of a short DIPOLE of dipole moment P at a distance r from it.

we know, potential energy , U = charge × potential difference.

electric potential at a point on equatorial line of a dipole P, V = Kpcos90°/r² = 0

[ in case of equatorial line, angle between dipole moment and r is 90° ]

distance of charge from the point on equatorial plane remains constant. so, potential difference on equatorial line , ∆V = 0

so, electric potential energy, U = Q × 0

= 0

therefore, electric potential energy would be zero

There are two kids playing on the terrace of building of height 20 m. The first kid throws a stone up with 2 ms-1. The second kid throws a stone vertically down with same speed. What is the velocity of the stones when they reach the ground

Answer»

The initial speed of both the stones are same. Even the STONE is thrown vertically upwards or downwards, their VELOCITY at the ground is the same.

Here the two stones are considered simultaneously.

Given,

  • \sf{u=\pm2\ m\,s^{-1}}

because one is projected vertically upwards while the other, downwards. We consider DOWNWARD motion as positive.

  • \sf{a=g=10\ m\,s^{-2}}

Both the stones EXPERIENCE the ACCELERATION due to gravity.

  • \sf{s=20\ m}

The stones have to travel the height of the building as the displacement to reach the ground.

Then, by third equation of motion,

\longrightarrow\sf{v^2=u^2+2as}

\longrightarrow\sf{v^2=(\pm2)^2+2\times10\times20}

\longrightarrow\sf{v^2=4+400}

\longrightarrow\sf{v^2=404}

\longrightarrow\sf{\underline{\underline{v=20.1\ m\,s^{-1}}}}

37.

During the RCB vs CSK match, while batting Virat kohli edges a ball vertically with a velocity of 30ms-1. Dhoni standing behind the stumps runs to catch it. If he is standing 3 m behind the stumps and runs at 0.5ms-1 will he be able to catch the ball? (g=10ms-2)

Answer»

We consider vertical motion of the ball, where,

  • vertical velocity of the ball \sf{=30\ m\,s^{-1}.}

We consider upward motion as POSITIVE.

  • acceleration acting on the ball \sf{=-g=-10\ m\,s^{-2}.}

Let the ball come back to the ground after a time \sf{t} seconds of rising up.

On coming back to the ground, the ball attains a zero vertical displacement. Hence by second EQUATION of motion,

\longrightarrow\sf{s=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}\,at^2}

\longrightarrow\sf{0=30t-5t^2}

\longrightarrow\sf{5t(t-6)=0}

Since \sf{t\neq0,}

\longrightarrow\sf{t=6\ s}

So the ball should reach the ground after 6 seconds. This time should be taken by Dhoni too, as minimum, to catch the ball.

Now we have to check WHETHER Dhoni should reach there to catch the ball, by covering the distance of 3 m in 6 seconds or not.

  • Displacement to be covered by Dhoni \sf{=3\ m.}

  • Dhoni's speed \sf{=0.5\ m\,s^{-1}.}

  • Dhoni experiences no acceleration.

Hence, by second equation of motion,

\longrightarrow\sf{s=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}\,at^2}

\longrightarrow\sf{3=0.5t}

\longrightarrow\sf{t=6\ s}

Therefore, Dhoni will be ABLE to catch the ball!
