Can we have any n £ n , where 7power n ends with the digits zero

Answer»

Let , if possible 7^n ends with digits ZERO

As 7^n ends with DIGIT zero
=> 7^n must have factor 2 and 5 ----(i)

but according to fundamental theorem of arithmetic, it gaurantees that 7 ^n can have only factor as multiple of 7 ----(ii)

(i) and (ii) CONTRADICTS each other
Thus 7^n can never end with digit zero for any natural number n...

on a particular day 2 by 15 of the total were absent. If 1950 were present on that day, find the total strength of school

Answer»

2 by 15 of the total were absent means 13 by 15 were present in the school.
In the given question the no. of present students is given that is 1950
Means there are 15 total PARTS out of which 2 parts students are absent and 13 parts students are present
Let the total no. of the students be x
So we can use DIRECT variation for this,
Parts         No. of students
  13              1950
   15                 x
∴13×x=1950×15
∴x=1950×15÷13
∴x=2250
So the  total no. of students are 2250.

A boat goes 30 Km upstream and 44 KM downstream in 10 hours.In 13 hours, it can go 40 KM upstream and 55 KM down- stream. Determine the speed and that pf the boat in still water....????kindly explain this question....

Answer»

Let the speed of the stream be = u kmph
let the speed of the boat be = v kmph

speed upstream will be = v - u  kmph
speed downstream will be =  v + u  kmph

30 km  upstream in TIME duration  =   30 / (v - u)  HRS
44 km  down stream in time duration  =  44 / (v + u)  hrs

       44 / (v + u)  + 30 / (v -u)  = 10 hrs     --- (1)

Similarly,

      40 /(v - u)  + 55 / (v +u)  = 13 hrs         Multiply with 3/4:
      30/(v-u) + 165 / 4(v+u) =    39/4        --- (2)

Now (1) - (2)  =>    [44 - 165/4] / (v+u) = 10 - 39/4 = 1/4
                   =>     v + u = 11      --- (3)
SUBSTITUTE this in (1) to get:
             44/11 + 30/(v-u) = 10
           =>  v - u = 30/6 = 5      --- (4)

Solving  (3) and (4) ,  we get :  v = 8 kmph    and  u = 3 kmph

the digits of a two digit number differ by 3.If the digits are interchanged and added to the original number the number obtained is 143. Find both the numbers.(use only one variable)

Answer»

The answer is given below :

Since, the difference between the digits of the NUMBER is 3, we consider the numbers as (x + 3) and x at tens and ones place respectively.
where (x + 3) - x = 3.

Then, the number is

= 10(x + 3) + x

= 10x + 30 + x

= (11x + 30)

When the digits are interchanged, the number is

= 10x + (x + 3)

= (11x + 3)

By the given condition,

ORIGINAL number + New number = 143

⇒ (11x + 30) + (11x + 3) = 143

⇒ 22X + 33 = 143

⇒ 22x = 143 - 33

⇒ 22x = 110

⇒ x = 110/22

⇒ x = 5

So, the digit at ones place is 5 and the digit is tens place is (5 + 3) = 8.

So, the numbers are 85 and 58.

Thank you for your question.

A person spends 88 percent of his salary. expenditure amt is 22,000rs. wat is total salary?

Answer»

Here that person spends 88 percent of his salary
Let the total salary of that person be 100 percent be x rs
In given QUESTION , that persons expenditure is 22000 which is given
It MEANS that his 88 percent salary is 22000
we need to know his total salary ,
For this we use direct variation
percentage          salary
     88                     22000
   100                       x
By doing CROSS multiplication,
∴88×x=100×22000
