Find the HCF of 963and657 and express it as a linear combination of them.

Answer»

Using Euclid’s Division Lemma

a = bq+r , o ≤ r < B

963 = 657×1 + 306

657 = 306×2 + 45

306 = 45×6+36

45 = 36×1+9

36 = 9×4+0

∴ HCF (657, 963) = 9.

Boys = 40
GIRLS = 30
if x girls new ADDMISSION
then no of girls = 30 + 5
and total students = 40+30+5=70+5=75

Find the zeroes of p(x)=(x-1)³(2x+5)

Answer»

The answer is given below :

The given function or polynomial is

p(X)=(x-1)³ (2x+5)

= (x-1) (x-1) (x-1) (2x+5)

ZEROS OF A POLYNOMIAL :

The value of x for which the given polynomial will be valuing zero (0) is called the zero of the polynomial.

In this case, to FIND the zeroes, we must have

p(x) = 0

⇒ (x-1) (x-1) (x-1) (2x+5) = 0

So, we have

x - 1 = 0

⇒ x = 1

and

2x + 5 = 0

⇒ 2x = -5

⇒ x = -5/2

Therefore, the zeroes of the given polynomial are
x = 1, 1, 1, -5/2

Thank you for your question.

If a^x =b^y =c^z and b^2 =ac. Prove: y =2x/x+z

Answer»

Hi...☺️

Here is your answer...✌️

GIVEN THAT,

b {}^{2} = ac \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: .....(<klux>1</klux>)

ALSO,
{a}^{x} = {b}^{y} = {<klux>C</klux>}^{z} \\ \\ let \: \\ {a}^{x} = {b}^{y} = {c}^{z} = p \\ \\ we \: have \\ {a}^{x} = p \\ \\ = > a = {p}^{ \frac{1}{x} } \: \\ \\ similarly \\ b = {p}^{ \frac{1}{y} } \: \: and \: \: c = {p}^{ \frac{1}{z} }

Putting value of a, b and c in eq(1)
We GET,

{( {p}^{ \frac{1}{y} }) }^{2} = {p}^{ \frac{1}{x} } \times {p}^{ \frac{1}{y} } \\ \\ {p}^{ \frac{2}{y} } = {p}^{ (\frac{1}{x} + \frac{1}{y} )}

On equating the power of p
We get,

\frac{2}{y} = \frac{1}{x} + \frac{1}{z} \\ \\ \frac{2}{y} = \frac{z + x}{xz} \\ \\ \frac{1}{y} = \frac{x + z}{2xz} \\ \\ = > y = \frac{2xz}{x + z} \:\:\:\:\: [Proved] \:

in an examination, a student requires 40% marks to pass. if a student gets 302 marks and fails by 18 marks, find the total marks.

Answer»

Marks OBTAINED by the student =302
fails by 18 marks
So, 40 PERCENT of total marks =302+18=320
1 percent =320/40=8
100 percent / total marks=8*100=800marks

so, total marks=800

the differece between the sides at right angles in a right angled triangle is 7cm . the area of the triangle is 60 cm square . find its perimeter.

Answer» LET one side be x
Other is x-7

Area of TRAINGLE = 1/2 * b * h
= 0.5 * x * (x-7) = 60

Multiply both sides by 2
x*(x-7)=120
x^2 - 7x - 120 = 0

(x-15)(x+8)= 0

So x = 15 since x cant be negative
x-7= 8

Using Pythagoras theorem,
64 + 225 = h*h
h=17
Perimeter = 17+15+8 = 40cm

Find square root of 2-2√3i

Answer»

The answer is GIVEN below :

Given COMPLEX number is (2 - 2√3i) and we need to find the square root.

Now, 2 - 2√3i

= (3 - 1) - 2√3i

= 3 - 2√3i - 1

= (√3)² - (2 × √3 × i) + (i)², SINCE i² = -1

= (√3 - i)²

So, √(2 - 2√3) = ± (√3 - i).

IDENTITY USED :

(a - B)² = a² - 2ab + b²

If 2x x 2x= 4x square then why not cos thita x cos thita = cos square thita square

Answer»

2x * 2x = 4x
Means
2*x*2*x
= 2*2*x*x
=4*x*x

But
COS(theta)*cos(theta) is not same as
Cos * theta * Cos * theta

Thats why
Cos(theta) * Cos(theta) = Cos^2(theta)

A woman bought 2500 coconuts at Rs 7 each. She sold 45% of the coconuts at Rs 10 each, 38% at Rs 8.50 each and the remaining at Rs 6 each. Find her profit percent.

Answer»

Thanks for asking the question.

SOLUTION::

Women BOUGHT 2500 coconuts at RS. 7 each i.e. 2500×7 = 17500 Rs.

1. Sold 45% of 2500 coconuts at Rs. 10 each.

45% of 2500
(45/100)×2500
45×25
1125 coconuts at Rs. 10 each i.e.
1125× 10 = 11250 Rs.

2. Sold 38% of 2500 coconuts at Rs. 8.50 each

38% of 2500
(38/100)×2500
38×25
950 coconuts at Rs. 8.50 each i.e.
950× 8.50 = 8075 Rs.

3. Remaining coconuts at Rs. 6 each

Remaining coconuts = 2500 -(1125+950) = 2500 - 2075 = 425 coconuts sold at Rs. 6 each i.e.

425 × 6 = 2550 Rs.

2500 coconuts bought in 17500 Rs.
2500 coconuts sold in = 11250+8075+2550 = 21875 Rs.

Total Profit = SELLING price - Buying Price = 21875 - 17500 = 4375 Rs.

Profit Percent =( Profit / Buying Price ) × 100 = (4375/17500)× 100 = 4375/175 = 25%

25% is the profit percent on 2500 coconuts.

if the sum of the zeros of the polynomial x square - K + 3 X + 5 k minus 3 is equal to one fourth of the product of the zeros find the values of k

Answer»

X^2+3x+5k-3
In above QUADRATIC equation
So here a=1
b=3
c=5k-3
SUM of the zeroes (ROOTS ) =-b/a
Product of the zeros =c/a
Here
Sum of the zeros=1/4 of product of the zeroes
-b/a=1/4×c/a
-3/1=1/4×5k-3/1
-3=1/4×5k-3
-3×4=5k-3
-12=5k-3
-5k=-3+12
-5k=9
5k=-9
K=-9/5
So the answer is K =-9/5
