The cost of turfing a uniform circular road around a circular garden at Rs 20 per sq metre is Rs21560 and the area of the garden is 1386 sq metre. Find the width of the circular road.Give answer in a proper and disciplined way.......

Answer»

Given:

The cost of turfing a uniform circular road around a circular garden at Rs 20 per sq metre is Rs21560

The area of the garden is 1386 sq metre.

To find:

Find the WIDTH of the circular road.

Solution:

The total cost of turfing the uniform circular road around the circular garden = Rs. 21560

The cost of turfing per sq. meter of the circular road = Rs. 20

∴ The area of the uniform circular road around the garden is,

= \frac{21560}{20}

= 1078 m²

The area of the circular garden = 1386 m²

∴ The area of the circular garden along with the uniform circular road is,

= 1078 m² + 1386 m²

= 2464 m²

Let's assume,

"R" → represents the radius of the garden + road

"r" → represents the radius of the circular garden

∴ Area of garden + road = 2464

\pi R^2 = 2464

\frac{22}{7} R^2 = 2464

R =\sqrt{  \frac{2464 \times 7}{22}}

R = \sqrt{784}

R = 28 m

ALSO,

Area of garden = 1386

\pi r^2 = 1386

\frac{22}{7} r^2 = 1386

r =\sqrt{  \frac{1386 \times 7}{22}}

r = \sqrt{441}

r = 21 m

Now,

The width of the circular road is given by,

= [radius of the garden + road] - [radius of the garden]

= R - r

= 28 - 21

= 7 m

Thus, the width of the uniform circular road is → 7 m.

1. The numbers x + 3,2x + 1 and x-7 are in Arithmetic progression.(1) Find the difference between the second term and the first term.(ii) Find the difference between the third term and the second term.(iii) Using the results of (i) and (ii), find the value of x and thus find the value of three numbers.

Answer»

a1 = x+3

a2 = 2x+1

A3 = x-7

a2-a1 = 2x+1-x-3 = x-2

a3-a1 = x-7-2x-1 = -x-8

SINCE a2-a1 = a3-a2 = d [COMMON Difference]

x-2 = -x-8

2x = 2-8 = -6

x = -3

Therefore, the numbers are

Plz explain and answer

Answer»

Answer:

x =  \frac{<klux>5</klux>}{13}

STEP-by-step explanation:

In the very FIRST STEP:-

We have cross mulitplied the denominator as we have learnt in earlier classed to solve fractions.

Nextly,

when we GOT,

\frac{15x - 1}{9 {x}^{2} - 1}  =  \frac{5}{3x}

we again cross multiplied the 3x to 15x-1 and 9x²-1 to 5.

so,

we got the value as,

-13x= -5

=>

x =  \frac{5}{13}

and which is the required answer!

The standard form of linear polynomial

Answer»

Step-by-step explanation:

the standard form of linear polynomial PUTS the X and Y terms on the left hand SIDE of the equation, and MAKES the coefficient of the x-term positive. While standard form is commonly, we sometimes rewrite a line in slope-intercept form in order to GRAPH it. The standard form of a linear equation looks like AX+by=c.

Any linear polynomial in variable x with real coefficients is of the form f(x) = ax + b , where a, b are real numbers and a ≠ 0.

1. In circles radius is denoted as r and area is a. what is the relation between a and r.2. is radius proportional to area.why?

Answer»

Solution 1..

SUPPOSE we have a circle with RADIUS (r).

Now we can find the relation between radius and area of circle as follows:

The Area of circle is product of PI and square of radius of circle.

Pi is a constant whose VALUE is 22/7 or 3.14.

So we can write the relation in numerical form as follows:

a=\pi r^{2}a=πr

2

where a is area of circle and r is radius of circle.
