By selling a cd of rs 150 a shop owner lost 1/6 of its cost price.what is the cost rice of the cd.

Answer»

Hye

==============================

let the cost PRICE be x

By selling a cd of rs 150 a SHOP owner lost 1/6 of its cost price

s.p = 150

so lets FORM an equation

=> 150 =  x - 1/6 of x

=> 150 = x - 1x/6

=>150 = 6x/6 - 1x/6

=>150 = 5x/6

=> x = 150 * 6 / 5

       = 30*6

       = rs 180

lets check

180 *1/6 = 30

X^m y^n = (x+y)^m+n show that dy/dx = y/x

Answer»

The answer is given below :

Given,

x^m y^n = (x + y)^m

Now, taking log to both sides, we get

log (x^m y^n) = log (x + y)^(m + n)

⇒ log (x^m) + log (y^n) = log (x + y)^(m + n),
since log (ab) = log a + log B

⇒ m LOGX + n log y = (m + n) log (x + y),
since log (a^b) = b log a

Now, differentiating both sides with respect to x, we get

d/dx (m logx) + d/dx (n logy)
= d/dx [(m + n) log (x + y)]

⇒ m d/dx (logx) + n d/dx (logy)
= (m + n) d/dx [log (x + y)],
since d/dx [k f(x)] = k d/dx [f(x)], where k is a constant

⇒ m/x + n/y dy/dx = (m + n)/(x + y) d/dx (x + y),
since d/dx (log x) = 1/x

⇒ m/x + n/y dy/dx = (m + n)/(x + y) (1 + dy/dx)

⇒ m/x + n/y dy/dx = (m + n)/(x + y)
+ (m + n)/(x + y) dy/dx

⇒ n/y dy/dx - (m + n)/(x + y) dy/dx
= (m + n)/(x + y) - m/x

⇒ [n/y - (m + n)/(x + y)] dy/dx
= [(m + n)/(x + y) - m/x]

⇒ [{n(x + y) - (m + n)y}/{y(x + y)}] dy/dx
= {x(m + n) - m(x + y)}/{x(x + y)}

⇒ (nx + ny - my - ny)/{y(x + y)} dy/dx
= (mx + nx - mx - my)/{x(x + y)}

⇒ (nx - my)/(x + y) 1/y dy/dx
= (nx - my)/(x + y) 1/x

⇒ 1/y dy/dx = 1/x

⇒ dy/dx = y/x [Proved]

THANK you for your QUESTION.

0.75(7x+10)-12=0.25(10-2.5)+11.25

Answer»

0.75 ( 7X +10)-12 = 0.25(10-2.5)+11.25

5.25x+7.5 -12   = 0.25 (7.5) +11.25

5.25x -4.5 = 13.125

5.25x = 13.125+4.5

5.25 X = 17.525

x= 17.525/5.25

x = 3.338

Answer»

Let the original PRICE = x
Increase % in the article = 16%
New price = Rs. 1479

Original price can be FOUND out by MAKING the following EQUATION:

x+16/100*x= 1479
(100+16)x/100 =1479
116x = 1479 *100
x= 147900/116 = 1275

How many terms of the arithmetic series 5/6 + 2/3 + 1/2 ......... must be taken in order to obtain a sum of -121/2?(a) 33 (b) 34 (c) 35 (d) 36Aligarh Muslim University +2 Science/Diploma Entrance Test - 2018-19

Answer»

Hey FRIEND, Harish here.

Here is your answer:

Given:

\frac{5}{6},  \frac{2}{3} ,  \frac{1}{2}......1) An series in AP.  :

\frac{-121}{2}2) Sum of n numbers is

To find,

The value of N.

Solution:

Here:

First\ term\ (a) =  \frac{5}{6}⇒

Common\ Difference\ (d)=(  \frac{2}{3} -  \frac{5}{6} )= (\frac{-4+5}{6}) = \frac{-1}{6}⇒

S_{n} =  \frac{-121}{2}⇒

We know that,

S_{n}= \frac{n}{2}(2a + (n-1)d)⇒

\frac{-121}{2} =  \frac{n}{2}(2( \frac{5}{6}) + (n-1)( \frac{-1}{6}))⇒

\frac{-121}{2} = (( \frac{5n}{6}) + (n)(n-1)( \frac{-1}{12}))⇒

\frac{-121}{2} =( \frac{(10n + [n(n-1)(-1)])}{12})⇒

-121 \times 6 = 10n + (n^{2}-n)(-1)⇒

-726 = 10n -n^{2} + n⇒

n^{2} -11n - 726 = <klux>0</klux>⇒

n^{2} +22n -33n -726 =0⇒

n(n+<klux>22</klux>)-33(n+22) =0⇒

(n+22) (n-33) =0⇒

If this equation must be zero Then,

i) (n+22) = 0.

⇒  n = -22   (This is not possible, Because the number of terms must always be positive)

ii) (n - 33) = 0

⇒  n = 33. (This is possible).

THEREFORE sum of 33 terms in AP series is -121/2. (OPTION - A).

P. Maheswari (1950) divides development of EMBRYOSAC or female gametophyte in three major groups

Monosporic — In this type of development 3 megaspores of tetrad get DEGENERATE one remain functional and forms embryosac.
Bisporic — when two megasporic nuclei takes part in formation of embryosac. Both the nuclei are genetically different.
Tetrasporic — In this type due to failure of CYTOKINESIS I and II a four nucleate coenomegaspore tetrad is FORMED and all 4 nuclei participate in formation of embryosac.
Angiosperms exhibits great diversity in the development of embryosac which is as follows
