Dhara has a total of Rs 9100 as currency notes in the denominations of Rs 500, Rs200 and Rs 100. The ratio of the number of Rs 500 notes to Rs 100 notes is 4:5. If she has a total of 35 notes, how many notes of each denomination does she have ?

Answer»

Question :-

Dhara has a total of Rs 9100 as currency NOTES in the denominations of Rs 500, Rs200 and Rs 100. The ratio of the number of Rs 500 notes to Rs 100 notes is 4:5. If she has a total of 35 notes, how many notes of each denomination does she have ?

Solution :-

It is given that dhara has Rs.500 and Rs.100 notes in ratio 4:5.

Lets say that, she as 4x notes of Rs.500 and 5x notes of Rs.100 .

Now, it is given that, she total has 35 notes .

So, Notes of Rs.200 left = (35 - 4X - 5X) = (35-9x) Notes .

Now, it is given that, she Total has Rs.9100 as currency .

So,

⟼ 100*5x + 200(35-9x) + 500*4x = 9100

⟼ 500x + 7000 - 1800x + 2000x = 9100

⟼ 500x + 200X = 9100 - 7000

⟼ 700x = 2100

Dividing both sides by 700, we get,

⟼ x = 3

So,

☛ Notes of Rs.500 , she has = 4x = 4*3 = 12 Notes .

Notes of Rs.100 she has = 5x = 5*3 = 15 notes .

Notes of Rs.200 she has = (35 - 12 - 15) = 8 notes .

Hence, Dhara has 15 notes of Rs.100 , 8 notes of Rs.200 and 12 notes of Rs.500.

Can someone explain Heron’s formula for area of triangle to me

Answer»

s=a+b+c/2

area of triangle=

\sqrt{s - (s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}

Heron's formula is NAMED after HERO of Alexendria, a Greek ENGINEER and Mathematician in 10 - 70 AD. You can use this formula to find the area of a triangle using the 3 side lengths. Therefore, you do not have to rely on the formula for area that uses base and height.

If the area of square is 16 cm2.

Answer»

Answer:Given :-

diagonal = 37 m

one of the side ' L ' (length) = 35 m

Let width (breadth) = x m

{(width)}^{2}  +  {(length)}^{2}  =  {(diagonal)}^{2}  \\ \\   ({x)}^{2}  +  {(35)}^{2}  =  ({37)}^{2}  \\  \\  {x }^{2}   + 1225 = 1369 \\  \\  {x }^{2}  = 1369 - 1225 \\  \\  {x}^{2}  = 144 \\  \\ x =  \SQRT{144}  \\  \\ x = 12

breadth (width) = 'x' m = 12m

Area of rectangle = length*breadth

Q1If 5 kg wheat costs Rs.225,then how much wheat you can buy for Rs.450?Q2First bus travels 50 km in 45 min and second bus travels 75 km in40 min. Which is faster?Q3 A rectangle field is 90 m by 70 m. A man walks around it at rate of 4 km per hour. In how much time he will cover 5 rounds?Q4If perimeter of triangle is 100 cm and two sides are 35cm and 30 cm, find the third .

Answer»

Ans.1

Given,

Price of 5 kg of wheat: ₹225

Price of one kg: ₹225/5

= 45

Amount of Wheat which can be brought with 450:

450 \div 45 = 10

So, 10 kg of wheat can be brought with 450.

Ans.2

Given,

Time taken by First bus to cover 50 km: 45 MIN = 3/4 hour

Time taken by Second bus to cover 75: 40 min = 2/3 hour

SPEED of First Bus:

50  \div \frac{3}{4}  = 66.67

Speed of Second Bus:

75 \div  \frac{2}{3}  = 112.5

Hence, The second bus is faster.

Ans.3

Given,

Dimensions of Rectangle FIELD: 90m × 70m

Perimeter of Rectangle field:

2(l + b)

= 2(90 + 70)

= 2 \times 160

= 320

Speed of man: 4KM per hour

Total Distance travelled: 320×5 = 1600m= 1.6km

Time taken by man to cover the rectangle field 5 times:

\frac{distance}{speed}

=  \frac{1.6}{4}

= 0.4

Hence, the time taken by the man to cover the field 5 times is 0.4 hours or 24 minutes

Ans.4

Perimeter of Triangle: 100 cm

Length of First side: 35 cm

Length of Second Side: 30 cm

perimeter = \: sum \: of \:  length \: of \: all \: three \: sides

100 = 35 + 30 + third \: side

length \: of \: third \: side = p - (35 + 30)

= 100 - 75

= 25

Hence, the length of third side is 25cm.
