जैसा की आपको पता है कि प्रतियोगी परीक्षा में इस अध्याय से 1-2 प्रश्न अवश्य ही पूछे जाते है इसलिए यह अनिवार्य हो जाता है की हम इस अध्याय की बारीकियों सो समझे और आवश्यक सिध्दांत याद कर लें .

लघुत्तम समापवर्तक :- दो या दो से अधिक संख्याओं का लघुत्तम (LCM) या ल.स. वह छोटी से छोटी संख्या है जिसमे दी गयी संख्याओं से पूरा पूरा भाग लग जाता है.

मान लीजिये की आपको उस छोटी संख्या के बारे में जानना है जिसमे 2, 3 एवं 4 से भाग लग जाता हो तो अवश्य ही आपका उत्तर 12 होगा और आपका उत्तर ही लघुत्तम है.

लघुत्तम समापवर्तक निकलने की विधियाँ :-

1. गुणनखंड विधि :- इस विधि में सबसे पहले संख्याओं के अभाज्य गुणनखंड कर उभयनिष्ठ गुणनखंड को केवल एक बार चुनकर अन्य सभी गुणनखंड को आपस में गुना करने पर आपको हल प्राप्त होता है, जिसे ल.स. भी कहा जाता है .

उदाहरण :- 12, 16, 18 का ल.स. निकालें.

हल :- 12 = 2 x 2 x 3

16 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2

18 = 2 x 3 x 3

ल.स. (12, 16, 18) = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 = 144

2. भाग विधि :- इस विधि के लिए सभी संख्याओं को कॉमा (,) लगाकर पंक्तिबद्ध करते है और फिर उन्हें सबसे छोटी अभाज्य संख्या जिससे कम से कम दो संख्या विभाजित हो से भाग देते है और प्राप्त भागफल को संख्या के नीचे और वो सभी संख्या भी जो विभाजित नहीं हुई हो अगली पंक्ति में लिखते है. यह प्रक्रिया तब तक दोहराते हैं जब तक की अंतिम पंक्ति में सभी अभाज्य संख्या न बच जाये.

उदाहरण :- 12, 16, 18 का लघुत्तम निकाले

हल : -

ल.स. = 2 x 3 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 = 144

3. समुच्चय विधि :- इस विधि में सबसे पहले प्रत्येक संख्या का गुणन लिखते है और ऐसा करने के बाद जो गुणन सभी समुच्चय में शामिल हो और सबसे छोटा हो को चुन लेते हैं और यही आपका ल.स. होता है .

उदाहरण :- 12, 16, 18 का ल.स. निकालें.

A = { 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96, 108, 120, 132, 144, 156, 168, 180 ......}

B = { 16, 32 , 48, 64, 80, 96, 112, 128, 144, 160 ......}

C = { 18, 36, 54, 72, 90, 108, 126, 144, 162, 180 ---}

यहाँ आप देख पा रहे हैं की तीनो समुच्चय में 144 सबसे छोटी संख्या है जो उभयनिष्ठ है. अतः ल.स. = 144

महत्तम समापवर्तक :- वह बड़ी से बड़ी संख्या जो दी हुई संख्याओं को पूर्णतया विभाजित कर दे संख्या का महत्तम समापवर्तक कहलाता है इसे HCF या म.स. भी लिखते है .

उदाहरण :- 12,18 और 24 का म.स. निकालें.

हल :- तीनो संख्या 12,18 , 24 का समापवर्तक 2, 3 एवं 6 है और इनमे सबसे बड़ी संख्या 6 है अतः इनका म.स. = 6 होगा

महत्तम निकलने की विधियाँ :-

1. गुणनखंड विधि:- इस विधि में सबसे पहले सभी संख्या का अभाज्य गुणनखंड निकला जाता है. इसके बाद उभयनिष्ठ गुणनखंड को लिखा जाता है जो इन संख्या का म.स. होता है.

उदाहरण :- 12,18 और 24 का म.स. निकालें.

हल :- 12 = 2 X 2 X 3

18 = 2 X 3 X 3

24 = 2 X 2 X 2 X 3

म.स. = 2 X 3 = 6
