Answer»

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ANSWER ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

✔ TERMINAL BRANCHES ➡ We already learn about NEURON STRUCTURE. The endings which are observed after the MAIN or primary axon are called as terminal branches, OFTEN known as AXON TERMINALS / AXON ENDINGS.

✔ FUNCTIONS OF NERVOUS SYSTEM :

➡ The nervous system control all the body activities and also co-ordinate their functioning.

➡ The nervous system provides special responses to all types of stimuli LIKE light, sound, smell, touch and pain.

➡ Neurons send and receive sensations in the body in the form of electrical impulses.

✔ ACETYLE-COLIN ➡ It is actually located at the exact position of NEURO-MUSCULAR JUNCTION generally resulting in ACTIVATION of co-ordinating muscles and their functioning. One of the primary functions of acetylcolin is to carry signals from motor neurons to the body's skeletal muscles. Its actual formula is  C7NH16O2+

Why in glycolysis there is no need of oxygen?

Answer»

Some carbohydrates in the food you eat CONTAIN up to several hundred glucose molecules. These glucose molecules are a prime source of energy for your muscles, brain and red blood cells. However, your body must break down the glucose into ATP, or cellular energy, through a process called glycolysis. If oxygen is available, glycolysis is followed by TWO processes in the mitochondria -- the KREBS cycle and OXIDATIVE phosphorylation, respectively -- that further increase ATP yield.

in a patient with known history of allergy to contrast medium, the chance of getting reaction in subsequent injection is increased by ......fold.

Answer»

Though allergic reactions have been DOCUMENTED in ANCIENT Greek and Roman history, the modern era of the study of allergies REALLY began in the 1800’s when hay fever was described by Dr. John Bostock in 1819. This continues to be one of the most common allergic reactions, affecting approximately 15 million people in the United States.

In 1869 the first skin test for allergies was described when a scientist PLACED pollen into a small CUT in the skin and watched for a reaction.

The concept of immunotherapy, which is building up the immune system through the administration of injections to help people cope with their allergies, was introduced in 1914.

Answer»

Allopolyploids are polyploids with chromosomes DERIVED from DIFFERENT SPECIES. Precisely it is the result of MULTIPLYING the chromosome number in an F1 HYBRID. Triticale is an example of an allopolyploid, having six chromosome sets, allohexaploid, four from wheat (Triticum turgidum) and two from rye (Secale cereale).

41.

What are efficiency of oxidation pond and oxidation ditch

Answer»

The oxidation ditch (OD) is a sort of equipment used for a long-term aeration. It consists of a long channel of an elliptical or circular shape equipped with an aeration equipment called a rotor for generating a water flow and stirring water in the channel to supply oxygen. Thought it requires a relatively large area, it has a simple structure and can be easily operated as well as being able to remove nitrogen easily. Thus, it has recently been widely used in relatively SMALL wastewater treating plants.

#Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages of the oxidation ditch are as follows.
1) It can be easily maintained.
2) It is hard to be effected by load fluctuations and forms only a little sludge.
3) OD can be easily controlled by changing the rotation of the rotor and the dipping depth.
4) It requires relatively little energy as the rotor is operated efficiency.
5) It can perform nitrification and denitrification easily.

Disadvantages of the oxidation ditch are as follows.
1) As the tank is large and the depth is small, it requires a large area.
It can be said the OD method is particularly suitable for a small scale equipment.

Oxidation pond is one of the biological systems which are used for the treatment of wastewater. It is considered as the secondary treatment method by which natural purification and stabilization of wastewaters like domestic sewage, trade waste and industrial effluents is accelerated. The biological treatment process in oxidation pond mainly involves an interaction between bacteria, ALGAE and other organisms.

Oxidation pond typically operate in an extended aeration mode with long detention and solids retention time [5] and is a widely adopted technique for the treatment of domestic and trade wastes. It is one of the METHODS used extensively in the TROPICAL areas of the world for treating the wastewater

This method would also have disadvantages that it requires extensive land area, potential odour problem, mosquito menace, little control over the effectiveness of the treatment process and the main disadvantage is seepage of effluents into soil which may also LEAD to ground water pollution.

Oxidation Ditch is preferred over oxidation pond !

In a siphon aqueduct the most severe condition of uplift on the floor occurs when

Answer»

Siphon aqueduct refers to the HYDRAULIC composition in which an irrigation canal is passing over the drainage, HOWEVER, the drainage water cannot pass clearly underneath the canal. In siphon aqueduct, the H.F.L of the drain is situated above the canal bed.

In a siphon aqueduct, the most EXTREME condition of uplift on the FLOOR takes place when the canal is DRY, the drainage floor is at the H.F.L, and the water tables are at the H.F.L of the drainage flow.
