what is meiosis? what is haploid and diploid cells and what does half number and full n.o of chromosomes mean? Please explain each and every single concept........i have paper tomorrow. |
|
Answer» rsuppose an organism has diploid no. of chromosomes that means '2n'. if it undergoes meiosis then it's chromosome no. will be REDUCE to half that is 'n'.now compare this to humans.we have 46 chromosomes.we are diploid organism. that means our '2n' is 46. and we know that the gametes formed by humans are sperms and ovumnow SUPPOSE a sperm and an ovum fuses to form a zygote and that zygote gives rise to a human being (let's call him x). now x should also have 46 chromosome. if the sperm carrying 46 chromosome and the ovum also carrying 46 chromosome fuses TOGETHER then the resulting zygote will have 192 chromosomes.THAT IS NOT THE DESIRED RESULT.so to produce a zygote having 46 chromosome, the sperm and the ovumust have 23 chromosomes each.how can a diploid organism produce haploid gametes ??the answer is by meiosis. so diploid organism produce haploid gametes by meiosis and then when fertilization occur a diploid organism is formed.here I would like to mention that meiosis completes in two steps 1 reduction DIVISION2 EQUATIONAL division (which is similar to mitosis)Some organisms are haploid. no.of chromosomes in them is n .they produce gametes by mitosishope this helps if you have not understood yet, feel free to ask me. if you find it helpful please mark it as brainliest. |

"Experiences of an individual during its lifetime cannot be passed on to its progeny and cannot direct evolution ".justify the statement giving an example. |
|
Answer» ement is absolutely correct!experiences aquired during lifetime cannot be incorporated into the genome. hence it cannot be passed on to the progeny via the gametes. for example almost all the human females get their ear LOBES pierced but a female born to such a mother will not have her ear pierced since birth. another example if you cut the tails of a few mice and then they are allowed to reproduce, the new born mice will not be TAIL less. this is BCOZ piercing of ear LOBE or cutting of tail does not AFFECT the genetic constitution of any organism and hence their progeny will not inherit the aquired characters.hope this helps you. |

Cactus plants have thick, fleshy and green stems. why? |
| Answer» MOSTLY grows in DESERT. In desert, there is lack of WATER. Cactus absorbs water from sub-soil through long roots which is little in amount. So, to prevent excess loss of water from cactus and to help it survive, cactus have thick fleshy and green stems preventig transpiration. | |

Explain the mechanism of muscle contraction. OR Explain the Sliding filament theory . |
|
Answer» rding to this Theory, "Contraction Of Muscle Fibre occurs by the slidding of actin over the myosin".▪▪ This Mechanism Included following Steps :-¤¤ An Impulse from the CNS reaches the Neuromuscular junction via motor neurons.Neuromuscular junction is the synapse between a motor neuron and sarcolemma of tje muscle fibres.¤¤ The synaptic vesicles releases a neurotransmitter [ Acetylcholine ]. It generates an Action potential in sarcolemma. It SPREADS through the muscles fibres and cause the releases of calcium ions into the sarcoplasm.¤¤ Calcium Ions binds with a subunits of troponin on actin filament and removes the masking of active sites for myosin.¤¤ Using Energy from ATP HYDROLYSIS, myosin head bind to EXPOSED active sites on the actin to form a CROSS bridge. This pulls actin filaments on both sides towards the centre of A-bands. The Actin filaments partially overlap so that H-zone disappears.¤¤ The Z-line attached to actins is also pulled inward causes a shortening of sarcomere.¤¤ I-bands get shortened, whereas A-bands retain the length. ¤¤ Myosin releases ADP and Inorganic phosphate and goes back to its relaxed state. A new ATP binds and the cross bridge is broken.¤¤ The ATP is against hydolysed by the myosin head and above process is repeated CAUSING further sliding.¤¤ When Calcium ions are pumped back to sarcoplasmic cisternae, actin filaments are again masked. This causes the return of Z-Lines back to their original position. It results in Relaxation. |

What do you understand by monohybrid and dihybrid cross performed by Mendel |
| Answer» RID cross is the cross between two individuals where a single characteristic is considered. Mendel considered the height (tall T, SHORT t) of the pea plants as a TRAIT in his monohybrid cross. DIHYBRID cross involves the study of inheritance for organisms DIFFERING in two characteristics. | |

Risk for infection related to vaginal bleeding nursing diagnosis |
|
Answer» ysiologyPostpartum hemorrhage is the excessive bleeding following delivery of a BABY. For vaginal delivery, excessive bleeding would be more than 500ml and for cesarean delivery, more than 1000ml. This may happen with vaginal or cesarean delivery and occurs in 1-5 out of 100 women. The hemorrhage may OCCUR immediately after birth, or over several hours following delivery.EtiologyNormally, the uterus continues to contract after the delivery of the baby and placenta. These contractions actually help close the vessels that SUPPLIED blood from the mother to the baby. When these contractions do not continue, or are not strong enough, hemorrhage occurs. Sometimes, a tear in the cervix, placenta or the blood vessels within the uterus may cause the hemorrhage. Risk FACTORS include obesity, multiple births (twins or more), many previous pregnancies, blood clotting disorders, infection, PROLONGED labor or use of assistive devices such as forceps or vacuum to delivery the baby. |

N formal methionyl trna complex is loaded to p- site of ribosome by |
|
Answer» tion. The MRNA formed in TRANSCRIPTION is transported out of the nucleus, into the CYTOPLASM, to the ribosome (the cell's protein synthesis factory). Here, it directs protein synthesis. Messenger RNA is not directly INVOLVED in protein synthesis − transfer RNA (tRNA) is required for this. |

Why does some children have tail when they r born ? |
|
Answer» ld with the theory that the development of an embryo shows the stages of evolution. In other words, what first develops is fishlike, and then like a SMALL mammal, and then like a lemur or ape, and then something we would RECOGNIZE as human. Very early embryos have what look like little gill slits in the beginning of their development. At about four WEEKS, embryos have a little tail. At around six to twelve weeks, the white BLOOD cells dissolve the tail, and the fetus develops into an average, tail-less baby... most of the time, at least. Every now and again, we get a little EXTRA bit of baby, in the form of a vestigial tail.hope it helps u❤️❤️ |
