Why should mg rition is clean before burning in air

Answer» Magnesium ribbon is a very reactive metal. When stored it reacts with oxygen to form a layer of magnesium oxide on its surface. This layer of magnesium oxide being a stable compound prevents further reaction of magnesium with oxygen. The magnesium is cleaned before burning in air to remove this layer so that the metal can be exposed to air properly.

Name the type of nutrition with their definitions

Answer» Nutrition is of two types namely, autotrophic and heterotrophic mode of nutrition.Plants exhibit autotrophic mode of nutrition. They prepare their own food by the process of photosynthesis.Animals exhibit heterotrophic mode of nutrition. Heterotrophic mode of nutrition can be categorised into holozoic mode, parasitic mode and saprophytic modes of nutrition.*Holozoic mode of nutrition is the process in which an organism takes in whole food. The food ingested undergoes digestion, absorption and assimilation. e.g. small organisms like amoeba large organisms like human beings.*Parasitic mode of nutrition is the process in which organism derives its nourishment from host organisms either in liquid form or nutrient form. e.g. Taenia solium is the tape worm living in human intestine.*Saprophytic mode of nutrition is the process in which organism derives its nourishment from dead and decaying matter. e.g. Fungi are heterotrophs that acquire their nutrients from dead and decaying matter by absorption.

What is the difference between refex action and walking

Answer» Reflex actions are sudden, involuntary reactions of the body in response to stimuli. They occur without the involvement of the conscious areas of the brain. Therefore, all reflex actions are unconscious actions. Reflex actions occur both from the brain and spinal cord which are the parts of the central nervous system. Most often these actions are mainly formed from the spinal cord. When sudden responses are required, instructions are given by the spinal cord itself. Impulses reach the brain only after that. Later conscious responses are made.\xa0Walking is a voluntary action which happens under the control of cerebellum of the brain. Walking is aquired or learnt as we grow. The thought is accepeted by the brain upon necessity and is processed under its control.
Reflex actions are sudden and spontaneous and controlled by the spinal cord through the reflex arc. While walking is a voluntary movement which is controlled by our brain and requires thinking.Hope you understand!

Why sky appear blue in day...and black at night...? ? ?

Answer» Thanks...
During the day (daylight) the sky has a blue appearance because the Sun’s light (white light) is made up of rainbow of colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) of\xa0different wavelength. This means, all these different colors of light combine to give you what is called white light. When sunlight enters the Earth’s atmosphere, it collides with air particles that causes the scattering of sunlight around the sky. The light with the shorter wavelength is scattered more by this collision than light with longer wavelengths. In this case, violet light is scattered the most, but human eyes do not see this color very well. However, since the human eyes are more sensitive to blue light (the next most scattered visible color), you will see the sky as blue. This therefore means that the blueness of the sky is from the blue light that is scattered from the sunlight in the atmosphere which, then enters our eyes from all regions of the sky.The black sky at night that shows you the moon, planets and stars is due to the absence of the Sun’s light. The overwhelming effect of the Sun’s light reacting with the atmosphere blacks out (conceal) the blackness of the sky (outer space). This means therefore that because there are no scattered light to reach the eyes of an observer during the night (to conceal the viewing of outer space) we get a clear (transparent) view of space, which is black. So, the sky is black during the night because it is revealing outer space. It is also important to note that, the moon does not give its own light but reflects the light from the sun. This reflected light from the moon is not strong enough to have the same effect (of blotting out the view of outer space) as the Sun.
Because in day the sun appears brighter than moon and at night .
Due to atmospheric refraction
Sky appears to be blue because sunlight gets scattered by the gaseous air particles present in the atmosphere. Shorter wavelength colours like blue gets easily scattered in the atmosphere. At night, reflected light from the moon is not enough to have the same effect as sun..

WHAT IS COMBINATION REACTION?WITH CHEMICAL EQUATION

Answer» In this reaction one or more compounds combined to form a single compound.N2 + H2 --- NH3
BOTH ARE WRONG ANS.
A combination reaction is a general category of chemical reactions. It may be defined as a chemical reaction in which two or more substances combine to form a single substance under suitable conditions.Combination reactions are also known as synthesis, because in these reactions new substances are synthesized. The general equation that describes a combination reaction is:2Na + Cl2 → 2NaCl
When two reactants combine to form a single product, it is called combination reaction. Eg. Na2 + H2O gives NAOH..

Why should a magnesium ribbon be clened before burning in air

Answer» Magnesium ribbon is a very reactive metal. When stored it reacts with oxygen to form a layer of magnesium oxide on its surface. This layer of magnesium oxide being a stable compound prevents further reaction of magnesium with oxygen. The magnesium is cleaned before burning in air to remove this layer so that the metal can be exposed to air properly.
So that to remove the layer of magnesium oxide formed by the reaction of magnesium with air to get the desired results.
This is because magnesium is reactive when it is exposed to air it reacts with oxygen present in the air and forms a coating of magnesiun oxide which prevent further reaction

Why do stars twinkle and planet do not ?

Answer» The twinkling of stars is due to atmosphereric refraction of starlight. Since the stars are very distant, they seen point sized. When we see the stars their light entering in our eyes and hence eye flickers and the stars were twinkle. The planets are much closer to the earth and seen as extended source.
Stars twinkle due to atmospheric refraction of light .stars are very far away so they considered as point sorces .when the light comimg from stars enter to the earth atmosphere it gets refracted.when the refracted light comes more towards us or reaches to our eyes it appears brighter and seem to be twinkling.Planets are larger and near the earth in comparison to stars ,they do not act as point source .there is no refraction from planets.thus there is no twinkling
