A stone is thrown vertically upwards with an initial velocity of 30 m/sec. Find the maximum height it reaches and the time taken by it to reach the height.(g = 10 m/s2).

Answer»

Figure regards question:

\setlength{\unitlength}{1mm}\begin{picture}(7,2)\thicklines\multiput(7,2)(1,0){55}{\line(3,4){2}}\multiput(35,7)(0,4){12}{\line(0,1){0.5}}\put(10.5,6){\line(3,0){50}}\put(35,60){\circle*{12}}\put(37,7){\large\sf{u = 30 m/s}}\put(37,55){\large\sf{v = 0 m/s}}\put(21,61){\large\textsf{\textbf{Stone}}}\put(43,40){\line(0, - 4){28}}\put(43,35){\vector(0,4){18}} {\pmb{\sf{BrainlyButterfliee}}}\put(24, - 3){\large\sf{$\sf g = -10 \: m/s^2$}}\put(48,30){\large\sf{t = ?}}\\ \\ \put(40,25){\large\sf{h = ?}}\end{picture}

Understanding the question: This question SAYS that there is a stone that is thrown vertically UPWARDS with an initial velocity of 30 m/sec. We are asked to take acceleration DUE to gravity (g) as 10 m/sec sq. And we are asked to find out the maximum height it reaches and the time taken by it to reach the height.

Provided that:

  • Initial velocity = 30 mps
  • g = -10 mps sq.
  • Final velocity = 0 mps

Don't be confused!

✴️ Final velocity cames as zero because the stone is thrown upwards and at the highest POINT the final velocity will be zero.

✴️ We are taking g as negative because the stone is thrown vertically upward. It thrown upwards that is against gravity.

To calculate:

  • Maximum height
  • Time taken

Solution:

  • Maximum height = 45 m
  • Time taken = 3 sec

Using concepts:

✴️ We can use either first equation of motion or acceleration formula to calculate the time taken.

  • Choice may vary, yours!

✴️ To calculate maximum height we can use either SECOND equation of motion or third equation of motion.

  • Choice may vary, yours!

Using formulas:

✴️ The three equations of motion are mentioned below respectively:

\begin{gathered}\boxed{\begin{array}{c}\\ {\pmb{\sf{Three \: equations \: of \: motion}}} \\ \\ \sf \star \: v \: = u \: + at \\ \\ \sf \star \: s \: = ut + \: \dfrac{1}{2} \: at^2 \\ \\ \sf \star \: v^2 - u^2 \: = 2as\end{array}}\end{gathered}

✴️ The acceleration formula is mentioned below:

  • {\small{\underline{\boxed{\pmb{\sf{a \: = \dfrac{v-u}{t}}}}}}}

Where, a denotes acceleration, v denotes final velocity, u denotes initial velocity and t denotes time taken.

Required solution:

✡️ Firstly by using first equation of motion let us find out the time taken by the stone to reaches the maximum height!

{\sf{:\implies \vec{v} \: = \vec{u} + \vec{a}t}}

{\sf{:\implies 0 = 30 + (-10)t}}

{\sf{:\implies 0 = 30 - 10t}}

{\sf{:\implies 0 - 30 = -10t}}

{\sf{:\implies -30 = -10t}}

{\sf{:\implies 30 = 10t}}

{\sf{:\implies t \: = 3 \: sec}}

{\sf{:\implies Time \: taken \: = 3 \: sec}}

  • Therefore, time taken to reaches the maximum height = 3 sec!

✡️ By using acceleration formula let us find out the time taken now!

:\implies \sf Acceleration \: = \dfrac{dv}{dt} \\ \\ :\implies \sf Acceleration \: = \dfrac{\Delta v}{t} \\ \\ :\implies \sf Acceleration \: = \dfrac{Change \: in \: velocity}{Time \: taken} \\ \\ :\implies \sf \vec{a} = \dfrac{\vec{v} - \vec{u}}{t} \\ \\ :\implies \sf -10 = \dfrac{0-30}{t} \\ \\ :\implies \sf -10 = \dfrac{-30}{t} \\ \\ :\implies \sf t = \dfrac{-30}{-10} \\ \\ :\implies \sf t = \dfrac{30}{10} \\ \\ :\implies \sf t \: = 3 \: sec \\ \\ :\implies \sf Time \: taken \: = 3 \: seconds

  • Therefore, time taken to reaches the maximum height = 3 sec!

Choice may vary and yours!

✡️ Now let us find out the maximum height by using third equation of motion!

:\implies \sf \vec{v}^{2} - \vec{u}^{2} \: = 2\vec{a}s \\ \\ :\implies \sf (0)^{2} - (30)^{2} = 2(-10)(s) \\ \\ :\implies \sf 0 - 900 = -20s \\ \\ :\implies \sf -900 = -20s \\ \\ :\implies \sf 900 = 20s \\ \\ :\implies \sf \dfrac{900}{20} \: = s \\ \\ :\implies \sf \dfrac{90}{2} \: = s \\ \\ :\implies \sf s \: = 45 \: m \\ \\ :\implies \sf Distance \: = 45 \: m

  • Therefore, distance = 45 m!

✡️ Now by using second equation of motion let us calculate the maximum height!

:\implies \sf s \: = \vec{u}t + \dfrac{1}{2} \: \vec{a}t^2 \\ \\ :\implies \sf s \: = 30(3) + \dfrac{1}{2} \times (-10)(3)^{2} \\ \\ :\implies \sf s \: = 90 + \dfrac{1}{2} \times (-10)(9) \\ \\ :\implies \sf s \: = 90 + \dfrac{1}{2} \times -90   \\ \\ :\implies \sf s \: = 90 + 1 \times -45 \\ \\ :\implies \sf s \: = 90 - 45 \\ \\ :\implies \sf s \: = 45 \: m \\ \\ :\implies \sf Distance \: = 45 \: m

  • Therefore, distance = 45 m!

Choice may vary and yours!

Explain Galilleo s experiment to show Newtons first law of motion

Answer»

Answer:

Galileo's Experiment: Galileo noticed that if he dropped a ball on a curved smooth surface that it would nearly REACH the same height on the other side. He tried it again with a ROUGH and a very smooth surface. The rougher the surface the less the ball was likely to reach the same height.Galileo deduced that objects move with CONSTANT speed when no force acts on them. This was the BASIS for Newton's first law of motion.

2.Water clocks worked better than SUNDIALS because they told the time at night as well as during the day. They were also more accurate; however, since the rate of flow of water is very DIFFICULT to control accurately, a clock based on that flow can never really achieve excellent accuracy.

4. Speed can be thought of as the rate at which an object covers distance. A fast-moving object has a HIGH speed and covers a relatively large distance in a given amount of time, while a slow-moving object covers a relatively small amount of distance in the same amount of time.

The SI unit of speed is the metre per second, but the most COMMON unit of speed in everyday usage is the kilometre per hour or, in the US and the UK, miles per hour.

Describe an experiment to demonstrate that water absorbs heat during boiling at a constant temperature.

Answer»

TAKE some water in the beaker. Suspend a thermometer in a beaker in water so that the bulb of the thermometer remains in water without touching the bottom or the sides. Supply the HEAT by the burner and note the TEMPERATURE at room temperature.

Maintain the record of temperature after every minute.

Temperature rises and as it reaches 100°C water starts boiling. Though heat is being SUPPLIED, the temperature does not RISE and it remains constant at 100°C and bubbles formed are seen.

Conclusion: boiling point of water is 100°C and at boiling point heat supplied is absorbed by water at constant temperature.

two brass balls of masses 2kg and 5kg experiments a force of attraction of 10N when the distance between their centers is doubled. The force of attraction

Answer»

Given

  • Masses = 2 kg & 5 kg
  • Force of ATTRACTION = 10 N
  • Distance between their centers is being doubled

To Find

  • The Force of attraction

Solution

GMm/r² = Gravitational Force

  • The above FORMULA is used to find the Gravitational Force between TWO bodies of masses M & m

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

According to the Question :

➞ g = GMm/r² = 10 N -eq(1)

And,

➞ g' = GMm/(2r)²

➞ g' = GMm/4r² -eq(2)

From eq(1) & eq(2)

➞ N = 10/4

➞ N = 5/2 N

∴ The gravitational force WOULD be 5/2 N

An athlete completes one round of a circular track of diameter 200 m in 40 s. What willbe the distance covered and the displacement at the end of 3 minute

Answer»

Answer:

200m

Explanation:

The diameter of the circular track is given as 200 m. That is, 2r=200 m.

From this radius is calculated as Radius, r = 100 m.

In 40 sec the ATHLETE complete one round. So, in 2 mins and 20 SECS, that is, 140 sec the athlete will complete = 140 / 40 = 3.5 (three and a half) ROUNDS.

One round is considered as the circumference of the circular track.

The distance covered in 140 sec = 2πr×3.5=2×3.14×100×3.5=2200 m.

For each complete round the displacement is zero. Therefore for 3 complete rounds, the displacement will be zero.

At the end of his motion, the athlete will be in the diametrically OPPOSITE position. That is, displacement = diameter = 200 m.

Hence, the distance covered is 2200 m and the displacement is 200 m.

The of four legs is 0.5-meter square. Calculate the pressure exerted by it on the surface.

Answer»

Pls Mark this Answer as Brainliest pls pls

1)Both Thrust and Pressure are directly proportional to each other and derived the formula pressure is obtain by perpendicular force and area. They are practically same and thrust is defined as force acting perpendicular each other and divided by the unit area while pressure is applying by force.

2)pressure decreases with increasing altitude. The pressure at any level in the atmosphere may be interpreted as the total weight of the air above a unit area at any elevation. At higher elevations, there are fewer air molecules above a given surface than a similar surface at lower levels.So, as we go up at higher altitude the pressure decreases.

3)A vacuum cleaner has a fan INSIDE that creates a low pressure inside the device. Consequently, air and dirt particles are sucked into the device.

4)The pressure exerted by a liquid increases with increasing depth inside the liquid. The pressure exerted by a liquid is small just under the surface of the liquid.

5)That pressure is called atmospheric pressure, or air pressure. It is the force exerted on a surface by the air above it as gravity pulls it to Earth. ... One atmosphere is 1,013 MILLIBARS, or 760 millimeters (29.92 inches) of mercury. Atmospheric pressure DROPS as altitude increases

Straw : When a man sucks up the fluid from straw the pressure  inside is moderately low and ACCORDINGLY atmospheric pressure outside powers up the fluid into straw.

6)Porters place a THICK , round piece of cloth on their head when carry they have loads to increase the area of contact of the load with their head. Since the load now falls on a larger area of head, the pressure on head is reduced and it becomes easier to carry the heavy load.

7)force extered = 20,000 N

Area = 0.5 meters square

hence, force extered = F/A = (20,000/0.5) = PA = 40000 pa
