sold two Jeans for990 each. On one he gains 10% and on the other he lostkit10%. Find his gain or loss per cent in the whole transaction.ress (or2.150 each, She sold one saree nt a loss of 8o

Answer»

Total Pairs of Jeans Ankit had = 2Cost of each pair = Rs. 990

Now, let's calculate the amount for the first pair.

C.P = Rs.990Profit = 10%

Hence profit = Rs.99So, the final price will be Rs.990 + 99 = 1089

Now, calculation for the 2nd pair of jeans

C.P = Rs.990Loss = 10%

Hence, loss = Rs.99So, the final price will be Rs.990 - 99 = 891

Now, verify profit or loss

Price of 1st pair + Price of 2nd pair = 1089 + 891 = 1,980Original price of 1st pair + Original price of 2nd pair = 990 + 990 = 1,980

S.P = C.P,Hence , no profit no loss

Answer»

(a + b)x - 2by = 5a + 2b + 13x - y = 14

What we want is to make these the same lines, or rather, have one lie on top of the other.

Let's solve each equation for y:(a + b)x - 2by = 5a + 2b + 12by = (a + b)x - 5a - 2b - 1y = (a + b)x/2b -5a/2b -1 - 1/2b

m = (a + b)/2by-intercept = -5a/2b - 1 - 1/2b

3x - y = 14y = 3x - 14

m = 3y-intercept = -14

Set the slopes equal to each other:(a + b)/2b = 3a + b = 6ba = 5b

Set the y-intercepts equal to each other:-14 = -5a/2b - 1 - 1/2b-28b = -5a - 2b - 1-26b = -5a - 1

Substitute a = 5b into equation:-26b = -5(5b) - 126b = 25b + 1b = 1

a = 5ba = 5

Thnku ji

When 3 unbaised coins are tossed, the total number of events = 8

They are {HHH, HHT, HTH, THH, TTH, THT, HTT, TTT}

(1) Number of favourable events (getting at least two heads) = 4

Probability of getting at least two heads = 4/8 = 1/2

(2) At most two heads

That is no head or one head or 2 heads

e school 1515) A student travels to his school at a speed of 4 km/hr and reaches the schoolearly,late.whatOn travelling at a speed of 6 km/hr, he reaches the school 5 minutes easpeed must he travel to reach the school just in time ?

2.Ravistartsfor his school at 8:20 a.m. on his bicycle. If he travels at a speed of 10 km/h, then hereaches his school late by 8 minutes but on travelling at 16 km/h, he reaches the school10 minutes early. At what time does the school start?

Answer»

Given that Ravi starts for his school at 8.20 am.

Let the distance be x km.

Let the time taken by Ravito reach the school be y.

(1) Given that he travels at a speed of 10km/hr and reaches by 8 minutes late.

x/10 = y + 8/60

x/10 = y + 2/15 --- (1)

(2) Given that he travels at a speed of 16km/hr and reaches by 10 minutes early.

x/16 = y - 10/60

x/16 = y - 1/6. ----- (2).

on solving (1) and (2), we get

x/10 - x/16 = 2/15 + 1/6

3x/80 = 9/30

x = 9 * 80/3 * 30

= 8 km. ----- (3)

Substitute (3) in (2), we get

8/16 = y - 1/6

y - 1/6 = 8/16

y - 1/6 = 1/2

y = 1/6 + 1/2

= 2/3 hours

= 2/3 * 60

y = 40 minutes.

Ravi starts school at 8.20am + 40 minutes = 9.00AM.

Plz give the solution with easy method

y=20 minutes how you got 40minutes
