30.Acontaner shaped like a right, crcular cylinder having diameter 12 cn and height 15 em is fillof ice cream. The ice crean is to be filled into cones of height 12 cm and diameter 6 cm, havingberuispherical shape on the top. Fid the nimler of such cones wlych cay be filled with iceereainAns: 10 (NCERT Textbook Exercise 13.3 Q5) 2's 4x C

Answer»

Given:

For right circular cylinder

Diameter = 12 cm

Radius(R1) = 12/2= 6 cm & height (h1) = 15 cmVolume of Cylindrical ice-cream container= πr1²h1= 22/7 × 6× 6× 15= 11880/7 cm³Volume of Cylindrical ice-cream container=11880/7 cm³

For cone, Diameter = 6 cm

Radius(r2) =6/2 = 3 cm & height (h2) = 12 cmRadius of hemisphere = radius of cone= 3 cm

Volume of cone full of ice-cream= volume of cone + volume of hemisphere

= ⅓ πr2²h2 + ⅔ πr2³= ⅓ π ( r2²h2 + 2r2³)= ⅓ × 22/7 (3²× 12 + 2× 3³)= ⅓ × 22/7 ( 9 ×12 + 2 × 27)= 22/21 ( 108 +54)= 22/21(162)= (22×54)/7= 1188/7 cm³

Let n be the number of cones full of ice cream.

Volume of Cylindrical ice-cream container =n × Volume of one cone full with ice cream11880/7 = n × 1188/711880 = n × 1188n = 11880/1188= 10n = 10Hence, the required Number of cones = 10

Q.9. 'Caliban has become a by-word as the strange creation of a poeticalimagination'. Discuss.

Answer»

The character of Caliban is generally thought (and justly so) to be one of the author's masterpieces. It is not indeed pleasant to see this character on the stage, any more than it is to see the god Pan personated there. But in itself it is one of the wildest and most abstracted of all Shakespeare's characters, whose deformity, whether of body or mind, is redeemed by the power and truth of the imagination displayed in it. It is the essence of grossness, but there is not a particle of vulgarity in it. Shakespeare has described the brutal mind of Caliban in contact with the pure and original forms of nature; the character grows out of the soil where it is rooted, uncontrolled, uncouth, and wild, uncramped by any of the meannesses of custom. It is "of the earth, earthy." It seems almost to have been dug out of the ground, with a soul instinctively superadded to it answering to its wants and origin. Vulgarity is not natural coarseness, but conventional coarseness, learned from others, contrary to, or without an entire conformity of natural power and disposition; as fashion is the commonplace affectation of what is elegant and refined without any feeling of the essence of it. Schlegel, the admirable German critic of Shakespeare, observes that Caliban is a poetical character, and "always speaks in blank verse."

in need of some points for topic...development of science in modern era is good..... mainly for debate topic..(favourable side)

Answer»

Science makes our life easy

Without science there would be no studying of the stars, and no electricity or running water. We would not have paper to write on, or toothpaste to brush our teeth. We wouldn't be able to keep cold items cold for long periods of time. We also wouldn't have shots to prevent illness, or cures to others. We wouldn't be able to prolong the life of someone with diabetes or cancer. We need science.Science makes us aware about natural resources benefits....

Science is Good

Yes, science is good. Science is the best way humanity has devised to learn about the world around us. Through science we gain a better understanding of the universe. We also gain new and beneficial technologies and medicines. Without science, we would still be stuck in caves and living nomadic, short lifestyles.

SCIENCE is good

Science is good because there are many things which are science in this new generation. The machines we use in industries are science. All facts are not science but everything from the air we breathe to the missiles we make to safeguard ourselves is science. We can say without science there is nothing in this vast world. So we have to worship science.

We need science.

The science is a good thing. With science, mankind has achieved many marvelous feats such the creation of modern medicine and the Internet. Due to science, mankind has expanded life expectancy twice as long compared to many years ago. Due to science, mankind has the ability to cultivate the land and irrigate water. Without the ingenuity of science, one would shudder to think what state mankind would be i

Articles on topic internet addiction.

Answer»

Internet addiction is described as an impulse control disorder, which does not involve use of an intoxicating drug and is very similar to pathological gambling. Some Internet users may develop an emotional attachment to on-line friends and activities they create on their computer screens. Internet users may enjoy aspects of the Internet that allow them to meet, socialize, and exchange ideas through the use of chat rooms, social networking websites, or "virtual communities." Other Internet users spend endless hours researching topics of interest Online or "blogging". Blogging is a contraction of the term "Web log", in which an individual will post commentaries and keep regular chronicle of events. It can be viewed as journaling and the entries are primarily textual.

Similar to other addictions, those suffering from Internet addiction use the virtual fantasy world to connect with real people through the Internet, as a substitution for real-life human connection, which they are unable to achieve normally.

The warning signs of Internet addiction

Preoccupation with the Internet. (Thoughts about previous on-line activity or anticipation of the next on-line session.)

Use of the Internet in increasing amounts of time in order to achieve satisfaction.

Repeated, unsuccessful efforts to control, cut back or stop Internet use.

Feelings of restlessness, moodiness, depression, or irritability when attempting to cut down use of the Internet.

On-line longer than originally intended.

Jeopardized or risked loss of significant relationships, job, educational or career opportunities because of Internet use.

Lies to family members, therapists, or others to conceal the extent of involvement with the Internet.

Use of the Internet is a way to escape from problems or to relieve a dysphoric mood. (e.g. Feelings of hopelessness, guilt, anxiety, depression.)

biomedical waste management in methodology for survey

Answer»

Potentially infectious wastes are generated during various activities in hospitals as well as in clinics and other health care establishments.

Presently much of the waste from such facilities except from large scale hospitals find its way into the municipal waste stream.

As the workers handling these wastes are often illiterate, they do not understand the written instructions and often do not take the required precautions.

Realizing the gravity of the problem, Ministry of Environment and Forests have recently laid down the Biomedical Waste Rules 1998 which are quite comprehensive and need to be followed.

The health care waste has to be treated for its conversion to non-hazardous residue, to contain waste, to avoid human exposure and to contain the residue to avoid its dispersion into the environment.

The Biomedical waste rules clearly lay down the treatment & disposal options for different types of waste and it can be seen that at any hospital a combination of methods will have to be used.

The selection of treatment method depends upon the prevailing regulations, the quantities to be disposed of, availability of qualified personnel & technologies and the space available.

The treatment options are:

Incineration

Chemical disinfection

Autoclaving

Hydroclaving

Encapsulation

Microwave treatment.

Such waste which cannot be treated by any of the above methods is normally disposed of in secured land filling by following the standard procedures.

Radioactive waste should be sent back to Atomic Energy Authority.

Pressurized containers should be sent back to the supplier or to approved recycling centers and should never be burnt

16. Write your views on "Technical Education" in India.

Answer»

India is witnessing the age of science and technology. In our everyday life and in every sphere of our life the influence of science and technology is becoming so pervasive that man’s existence in this world is simply inconceivable in their absence today. The pattern of life evolving in this age is very much different from the one we would find in our society even some fifty years back. This is why, to train our people in response to the need of the time, our education must be reorganized to give it the necessary practical and technical bias. Such education alone can produce the specialized armies for making and operating the modern machines. Technical Education imparts knowledge of specific trade, craft or profession. Technical Education can meet the expanding demands of expanding society and to meet its multiplying demands. The industries, mechanized systems and scientific research centers all over the world prove beyond doubt that our tie with the past is snapped and instead of bare hands we must use machines and technological devices for all-round development and regeneration of human society. So there is huge demand for technical education in modern age.In India, the education was thoroughly reorganized stressing on the importance of science and technology. The present education system in India mainly comprises of primary education, secondary education, senior secondary education and higher education. Elementary education consists of eight years of education. Each of secondary and senior secondary education consists of two years of education. Higher education in India starts after passing the higher secondary education or the 12th standard. Depending on the stream, doing graduation in India can take three to five years. Post graduate courses are generally of two to three years of duration. After completing post graduation, some of the students do research work.Technical Education plays a vital role in human resource development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life. The Technical Education refers to post secondary courses of study and practical training after 10th in Polytechnics and after 12th in Engineering colleges/NITs/IITs etc which are aimed at preparation of technicians to work as supervisory staff. The term Vocational Training refers to lower level education and training for the population of skilled or semi-skilled workers in various trades after 8th or 10th in ITIs.Technical Education is instrumental in making the remarkable contribution to economic growth of the Developing Countries by way of suitable manpower production according to the needs of the Industry, Society and the Global World as a whole. To produce fully skilled manpower/ knowledgeable technocrats in the present era of science and technology is the need of the hour.Technical Education covers degree and diploma courses and programmes in engineering & technology, management, architecture, town planning, pharmacy and applied arts & crafts, hotel management and catering technology.Polytechnic education has responded to the challenges of industrialization for self-reliance. Most of the polytechnics in the country offer three year generalized diploma courses in conventional disciplines such as Civil, Electrical Mechanical, Automobile Engineering. During the last two decades many polytechnics started offering courses in other disciplines such as Electronics, Computer Science, Medical Lab technology, Instrumentation & Control, Architectural Assistantship, Leather Technology, Textile Technology etc. Many diploma programmes are also being offered exclusively for women in Women’s Polytechnics such as in Garment Technology, Beauty Culture and Textile Design. Polytechnics are meant to provide skills after class X and the duration of diploma programmes is three years, which means, the trainee becomes employable at the age of 19 years. The aim of the polytechnic education is to create a pool of skill based manpower to support shop floor and field operations as a middle level link between technicians and engineers. The pass-outs of Diploma level Institutions in Engineering & Technology play an important role in managing shop-floor operations. It is further an established fact that small & medium Industry prefer to employ Diploma Holders because of their special skills in reading and interpreting drawings, estimating, costing & billing, supervision, measurement, testing, repair, maintenance etc.For the economic development and to ensure a place for India in the community of prosperous nations technical education was given the due importance. Besides this, in this age of unemployment, only technical education can assure one of a job and a comfortable living. Those who are still in the conventional institutions, passing examination that have little relevance in the modern systems, find no opportunities of employment. And, quite naturally, they are victims of frustration and find themselves alienated from the mainstream of modern world. With their stereo-typed general education without any specialization and professional skill they acquire nothing to contribute to the progress and prosperity of the human society. They are quite aware of this and this awareness leaves them demoralized.India has one of the largest technical manpower in the world. However, compared to its population it is not significant and there is a tremendous scope of improvement in this area. In India, the emphasis has been on general education, with technical and vocational education at the receiving end. This has resulted in large number of educated people remaining unemployed. This phenomenon has now been recognised by the planners and hence there is a greater thrust on vocationalisation of education.During the last decade, India has seen a tremendous increase in the number of Engineering Colleges at Degree level and Polytechnics Colleges at Diploma level throughout the country.Another shortcoming in the area of technical and vocational education is that till now, the number of engineers graduating is more than the diploma holders. This is creating an imbalance, as more workforces are required at the lower level. Hence more polytechnics and Institute for Industrial Training (ITIs) are being opened now. Under Government of India scheme of “Sub-mission on Polytechnics” new polytechnics has been set up in every district of the state. In our State in the year 2012, 18 new polytechnic college were opened in each uncovered district. The vocationalisation of education has received a boost with present Govt of India allocating more funds for the purpose under skill development. Besides, it is also being ensured that the marginalised sections of the society, including women, get adequate representation in these courses. It can thus be hoped that Technical and vocational education will play a major role in improving the lives of the people of India.

a story with moral

Answer»

There were once two brothers who lived on the edge of a forest. The elder brother was very mean to his younger brother and ate up all the food and took all his good clothes. One day, the elder brother went into the forest to find some firewood to sell in the market. As he went around chopping the branches of a treeafter tree, he came upon a magical tree. The tree said to him, ‘Oh kind sir, please do not cut my branches. If you spare me, I will give you my golden apples’. The elder brother agreed but was disappointed with the number apples the tree gave him. Greed overcame him, and he threatened to cut the entire trunk if the tree didn’t give him more apples. The magical tree instead showered upon the elder brother hundreds upon hundreds of tiny needles. The elder brother lay on the ground crying in pain as the sun began to lower down the horizon.

The younger brother grewworried and went in search of his elder brother. He found him with hundreds of needles on his skin. He rushed to his brother and removed each needle with painstaking love. After he finished, the elder brother apologised for treating him badly and promised to be better. The tree saw the change in the elder brother’s heart and gave them all the golden apples they could ever need.

Moral Of The Story

It is important to be kind and gracious as it will always be rewarded.
