Hay everyone. I have an ATI TV Wonder HD 600 PCI TV tuner card and for a wile the software that came with it worked...sort of. Now it wont work at all and when I try to REINSTALL it, it wont. So I need a good program that will just let me watch TV. I've been lately using SpeedFan, learning how to use it, etc etc, however lately I've been noticing some strange behaviours with the tempuratures and fan settings and it MAY be affecting my hardware adversely.

I'm had some general idea on how to correctly setup SpeedFan, although I think I have not been fully informed.

The temperatures of the components seem to me as SORT of normal for an Intel PENTIUM D 805, Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX 512, GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3LR....

The system is in a second floor, with carpet, however the case is elevated about 5-15 cm off the floor.

Could anyone please clarify how to setup SpeedFan in my case, as all the other sites I have researched are too different to my system.

[EDIT - System Fan 1 has suddenly dropped to 870rpm, yet little difference to the temperatures.]

I have a pocket pc Mio p550. It came with windows mobile 5 but it didnt have a win backup CD . How can i make one ? Like any PC recovery CD ! If the windows mobile 5 failed for any reason how can i install new copy if I didn't get one with the pocket PC ?What OS ? ?Windows Mobile Version 5.

I don't know if a recovery disk can be created from the installed software, a lengthy Google search might give the answer.And you may want to contact the MANUFACTURER...Actually, most of those don't have a backup CD, but have a factory restore function. Triggering it depends on the DEVICE, but usually involves holding a certain key combination and pressing the reset button. Check your manual and see what it says.

Windows Media Player isn't typically listed in the add/remove programs section. It's listed under the Windows Components section. Did you look there?You do not have to install or uninstall Windows Media Player. To update it, just download and install the newer version. If you want to find it on your system it is LOCATED here: "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"

I'm trying to CREATE a resume video with Movie MAKER, but rather than having a BORING white background of a wall behind me, is there anyway I can make that a layer like in Photoshop that looks more interesting? If so, can you make it quite SIMPLE?

But i have no intention of buying it, so is it best to uninstall it, and go for a free alternative like "open office"
If anything i would only use WORD anyway, but you carn't seem to get that anywhere on its own, or for free.

Definitely uninstall it. I recamend just going with open office.

No problem. "330MB" Plus all of the files that you don't know about. Hidden files are not usually counted and the files that are installed in different folder that are used so that you can not just copy the program to another pc and have it run.

I put together some videos using Windows Movie Maker and then use Windows DVD Maker to put on a DVD. It will get about a third of the way through and then an ERROR message saying it can not continue. I then purchased Roxio and put together a movie and then tried to burn to DVD. It gets 29% completed then quits. I have no idea why as I have completed other movies in the past using Windows DVD Maker. PROBLEMS SEEMED to start after I installed Norton 360. Uninstalled it but still won't complete DVD.It could be the brand of discs your using . Have you tried ANYTHING other than the disks you have been using?

Not sure if this is the best place for this. I have an external HDD for main backup, but I have been using my USB stick to back up my photos as I found it easier and QUICKER to do regularly.

I've found that the USB stick is now too small. I am now planning on putting these files on a PS3 and would like to use the USB stick to transfer. Does anyone know of a program that would somehow track the new and edited files to save to the stick and then ensure they are saved in the right folder when transferred?

Since yesterday I've been having a headache with downstreaming video , I subscribed to Internet TV, my wife is able to watch those TV channels on her computer no problem ...but my Dell Inspiron does not want to play it at all .However if I go on YouToube for example everything plays without any issues . I called Dell , they told me its a software issue. Can anyone help me with this.

Since it's an integral part of Windows even attempting to get rid of it is a bad idea...Delete the Desktop icon and forget about it.
Besides it's still needed for updates anyhoo...

While I disagree that IE is a "crappy browser" I do agree that there is no reason to attempt to uninstall it. If you don't like it, just don't use it.

I am working in Powerpoint 2000 and looking for a way to change the WORD art COLORS. I found a way to change the letter face colors in which I am blending a light blue with white in a FADE affact, but the orange of the 3D Body of the letters I cant seem to change the color of and need to.

Below attached and displayed is the example of the problem. The letter 3D body is orange and I need to change that, but cant find where it can be done???

Hi - I'm trying to find a solution to removing a header row from a text file that is exported each morning from a query. The query software will not allow me to export the text file without the header row and the program USING the text file will not work if the header row is present. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

This worked! However has created a new issue. The new file it created without the 1st record now has an additional space at the end of each record and I'm sure you know how finicky programs can be...this extra space is causing the AS400 program to fail. Any ideas on why it gets created that way and how to keep it from happening? THANK you so much for all your help! Exactly what software is the query software? Do you have Microsoft Office? If so, which version?The query software if CleverPath Forest & Trees and I'm using Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003.OK, here's a workaround suggestion. Open the exported file in Microsoft Excel, delete the header row, and then save the file in the original format or another format that can be imported into the AS400 program.

Edit: Alternatively, you might be able to import it into Mircosoft Access and then export a file with no header from Access. Well the whole point of this is to automate. This is a DAILY task...the work around I'm currently using is OPENING the text file and deleting the header row manually and saving. The query runs at 1am and exports the text file. If I can get the batch file that "oldun" suggested to stop adding the extra spaces at the end I can schedule it to run RIGHT after the export is done and then viola...I won't even have to touch it. I have a slow broadband internet connection. I tried dwnldg 500 MB file however due to abrupt interuption a power failure or dis-connection, such download fails. I use dTa Download Manager (firefox addon) and Orbit dwnlder but resulted in failed dwnld due to sudden interupption in internet connection.

I believe it's more to do with the site of the source file. I tried filehippo.com and brothersoft.com. I believe they do not support resumption of incomplete downloads.

I WANT to know which download site support resumption of incomplete downloads due to sudden dis-connection or is it software, if so which software would be good to dwnld large file without frequent "Failed Downlds" (I mean high or say highest success rate DOWNLOADER).

Currently I am trying Down Them All (dTa One Click) Manager to dwnld the 450+ MB file and the file is almost done while writing this post. As of now this has not once given a failed dwnld message/error even after n-number of shut-down/ reboot/ sudden crashes (both firefox & PC) since this dwnld started (i.e. past 3 days). Really Flattering.

I just hope that when the dwnld finishes it does not give the bad file/archive error.

This is in sharp contrast to the more fancy and widely used Orbit Downloader which on first or second attempt (dont remember exactly) gave-in (failed dwnlds). I suppose people should try to get the basics right first and then add more and more bells & whistles (features) to it so that the purpose of it is not defeated. That's where I think many, rather most people fail.

I also think GetRight should be fine too.

When i try to run graboid a legal video download program i get an error saying port 11234 and 119 are blocked. I thought it might be my symantec antivirus since that is the only thing that has changed since i got my COMPUTER REFRESHED TWO weeks ago after some maleware. I uninstalled it, added graboid to the windows FIREWALL exception list and opened the ports. Still no luck, any suggestions?

I created a site using FRONT Page 2002 and the contact us and guest book pages are not working. I have installed front page extensions and the server company has said everything is working on their end. They suggested I try to republish those two pages in Front Page but I don't know how to do that. Can someone please let me know how I can publish my pages. If you have any other suggestions I'd be happy to hear those too! I figured out that I need to go to File --> Publish Web but when I do that "Publish Web" is grey, I cannot click on that option. Does anyone know how I can get this option to light up so that I can click it.Change or add something to every page.

I'm using Firefox.You might forget trying to use FrontPage to create your own ORIGINAL guest book and get coding for a guest book from some other source, such as http://www.a-free-guestbook.com/By the way, chicagobears19, you can speed up the Wedding Party page by resizing your image files. For example, the lower right photo on the page is being displayed at 150 by 100 pixels. Yet, you're using a huge 3264 X 2448 pix photo for it, and the file size is 2171063 bytes, just to display a very small picture. A few other ones are also quite bloated in file size for the same reason.

What to do? Resize before putting the photo on the web page. In other words, create a small photo of the actual size needed for the web page, from the original photo. Of course, give the small photo a separate name and keep your original. None of the picture on that page needs to be over 10KB in size. The contact us page does work! And I have no idea how! The last time I checked it didn't work and I haven't changed anything since. It shows it was submitted but I don't actually receive anything in my email...does anyone know anything about this problem?

I can't install Altiris Software Virtualization SOLUTION on my new Acer Aspire 5735Z, laptop. It gets as far as: "The files you selected are currently being installed" and then a window entitled "Installer Information" pops up, stating: "There are file operations pending on this machine. The machine should be restarted and setup can be RUN again"

I downloaded the installation files from a few different sites but, no luck.

I've installed several other software programmes without any problem.

I've got: Vista Basic, Intel Pentium dual-core processor, 250 GB HDD, 3 GB DDR2, and McAfee Security Suite.

Any ADVICE would be very welcome .

Is it possible to create an hypertext link using only one chosen word (or an other object) in a cell.

Let's say I CHOOSE the word "citation" to become the link.

I would like the link to be opened by clicking on and only on the word "citation".

It is easy with "Open Office".

But with "EXCEL" (2007), I cannot do it: it is always the Whole cell that becomes the link.

Has anyone ever used OMNIPAGE before? I'm currently using OmniPage 16 PRO. It works great for converting pretty much any document I want to ANOTHER format. However, what doesn't work is converting text to an audio file. It says it supports this, but perhaps I just don't know how to do it. I tried reading the Help files, but they are no help and I can't find anything on the web pertaining to this. At least nothing that helps me.

I just want to be able to do this. Not only for the coolness factor of being able to scan a text document and turn it into audio, but also so I know OmniPage does everything it says it can so I can RECOMMEND it to customers in my line of business. My OS is Win XP 2002, Service PACK 2, after the recent formatting and installing new windows the soft TV online that I was USING for about 2 years, didn’t work after installing new windows! After verify I found it was blocked by the firewall, I allowed it, after that I can hear only the voice when I click on any channel button, but no display images?!

It was working properly before this formatting..!!

I have the following media player programs installed:

02. Real player V. 10
03. Macromedia flash V. 10
04. Quick time player
05. iTune
06. VLS media player
07. Winamp
08. K-Lite Codec Pack5.1.0 (full)
09. Adobe flash player 10 ActiveX
10. Macromedia flash 8 Video Encoder

All the above programs are updated and latest versions, as I have just updated all drivers with DriverScanner but still doesn't work to display TV image!
I have checked YouTube, video.google, and all other videos applications and web BASED TV are working smoothly, this is to confirm that the graphic card and other multi-media programs are OK,

In addition, i have the same OS and same SP2 and the same soft TV software on my LAPTOP and it's working (sound/image) with out any problem on laptop why not on PC!!

Any one got the same problem? or the same experience? It’s really confusing me!?

I'm working on a friend's laptop and she's having an issue with Office 2007 (Word specifically). When she tries to open a Word doc, she gets an error message that there is not enough memory to perform the operation. Most of what I've seen after a GOOGLE search says to just uninstall and re-install. I don't know if she has the original discs though as it came pre-installed on her pc. Would it be OK to completely uninstall 2007 and install 2003 (which I have)? Will 2003 work with Vista? If she has created any documents with 2007, will they open with 2003?Yes 2003 will work with Vista, but I'd think she would have received an OEM copy of Office on CD with her system. A reinstall (or repair install) of Office 2007 is really your first CHOICE. Worst CASE you can borrow a copy from someone.

If you do go with 2003, any documents she has created with 2007 will have to be in .doc format for 2003 to see them. If she used the new .docx format they will have to be converted to .doc before 2003 can access them.

I'm going to check with her tonight, HOPEFULLY she does have the disc. Will post an update....Just for the info, Office XP and Office 2003 users can install a Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats that allows them to open Office 2007 files.

I installed a new hard DRIVE and set my OLD hard drive to slave. xp is on the new hard drive and everything seems to work fine. I want to run a word document but office is installed on the old hard drive and will not open. when I try to start winword it says the APPLICATION must be installed to run, and I have to run setup from the location it was originally installed. I looked in explorer and all the files are still there but I could not find an install program for it. I don't have a boot DISK for the individual programs, just a recovery disk that I cannot access with the new hard drive. I am INSTRUCTING a class and due to the setup of the CLASSROOM, am not able to physically be on the computer which is attached to a projector for PowerPoint SLIDESHOWS. Right now it is setup where a student is sitting at the computer which is hooked to the projector. I have him/her open the slideshow and then I use my projector remote to CHANGE slides. The problem is that I now need to be able to get on that computer to show them stuff on the computer itself and routers/switches which I am consoled into (this is a networking class). I do not want to kick the student out of their chair for a few hours while I sit on their computer to do demonstrations on the projector.

The best solution to this problem I have come up with is to use a remote desktop connection to control the PC connected to the projector. I will then sit at my desk with my computer and do all demonstrations from there, while still having it display through the projector. I used Windows Remote Desktop Connection to try this. The connection worked fine and I had control of the PC; however, the image did not come out on the projector because it was being sent to the remote PC. This is obviously because although I am using the OS and software on the projector PC, I am still using the remote PCs hardware. Windows Remote Desktop Connection has an option to output sound from the PC being connected to; however, they don't have this option for video. Does ANYONE know of any remote connection programs out there where I can use the external display from the computer I am connecting to to display the output when I am remotely connected?I am not sure I understand what trouble you are having with Windows Remote Desktop (I do not have experience with it or projectors) but I use TeamViewer (free) to control computers remotely.

The remote computer's screen will still display normally while you are connected to it with TeamViewer. TeamViewer also has the option to send your local screen to the remote computer as a presentation.

What exactly is the DISE Backup? I have a computer with it on a partition and can not find any info on how to use it.DISE: "Drive IMAGE Special Edition backup partition"

It's used to create a backup image your working hard drive. When you use it, it will restore your computer to its factory settings, or point in time you created a backup. It sounds like you've NEVER created a back up, so that's not available to you.

I have no clue how to activate it, but if you do, it will WIPE your entire hard drive, and mount the factory image. That is what I want to do. I am doing this for the sister of a teacher I work with and figured that would be the fastest and easiest way to go. If anyone out there knows how it works, it is not in the start menu and it is not one of the boot options.

Running XP Home if that helps.There were 2 ways to use DISE. Either from WITHING windows, or from a boot CD you should have...

Make sure you look in the Programs folder, start menu, anywhere. There SHOULD be a DISE option... If not, you'll have to find a DISE boot disk... It figures, finally find the program folder and when I click to start it I get an error message saying that there is no DISE partition. A little digging around and I found the answer in the help section on creating a partition. Turns out it has to be next to the boot partition in order to work and this was set up as disk H with E, F and G as small storage partitions.

I've been working with the virus forum. UPON doing some of the scans, etc, I think I MAY have done something to cause my Outlook Express to stop sending emails to MSN/Hotmail addresses. The emails come back as being rejected........Is it because MSN messenger was deleted? Or is that just an application used for chatting? Thanks !Deleting MSN Messenger should not cause all emails to be rejected, SINCE that is only a chatting application. You may need to contact your ISP to see if they have made any recent changes and just explain the problem you are having. HOWEVER, before you do that, you should create a new hotmail or MSN EMAIL address for yourself and try send send a test email to yourself from outlook express. If that does not work, try going to your ISP's website and send a message from their WebMail portal to that same test MSN/Hotmail account you set up. If that works, then most likely it is some port setting in outlook express that needs to be configured. Let me know if you have any more questions.Thanks for the advice. This OPENS the Windows Task Manager. The first tab, Applications, shows all the applications/programs running on your computer.

In my IGNORANCE I thought I could drag the audio files on a shopping cart or on a website. But when I wanted to email one of the files I realized that dragging or pasting does not do the trick. So for me the challenge is to find out the step/s from Windows Media to the target (shopping cart, website).

You need some kind of FTP CLIENT. Do a search of FTP on this site or Google.
You can also do FTP from the command line.
But I prefer the a Windows based FTP.

Sure, just delete the old email account and create your new one. Deleting an email account has no affect on the messages received and still in Outlook from an old address. What makes you think deleting an email account would cause deletion of email messages received at that account?

Likewise, deleting an old email account and CREATING a new one has no affect on your Contacts.

Of course, you may want to notifiy all your contacts of your change of email address.

I have a BIG problem, i cannot open some png-files in Paint. I was able to open this file erlier today, but now is the file <>.

I can open this file in other applications like Microsoft OFFICE Picture Manager.

Yes, i have VISTA. If it opens in one app but not the other there's an issue...
Try and reset the file associations for Paint.open the file with other application.. From there save the file in bitmap file of .BMP format..
After saving see if you can open the new file in paint..

I've been using a M3 converter for a while now and I really like it because it's easy to use and very simplified. Recently I've experienced a PROBLEM with it. ( After formating HDD ) Looks like I'm missing a codec.

When I open M3 converter I get this:



It doesn't really matter whether I select "YES" or "No". I get same thing:



It's not like I can't find a proper codec... I googled for "Nero ACC Codec" and got a trusty link where I could download it from.

Gateway Media PC with Vista SP1 with a Sony 46" lcd for a monitor.


I have been using a small 1.5 MB channel editor program (MaZ 1.0) with no issues. There is no installer and it does not appear in any MENU or the add / remove PROGRAMS list. I run it directly off a thumb drive or sometimes from the download section. Version 1.1 was released and my problem is that I can not get this version to open. I get a momentary Vista REVOLVING circle showing like the application is going to open but nothing happens. I get no error messages, warnings etc. I tried removing the original Maz editor from my downloads. I tried opening it under a different user. As a last resort last night I did a restore back to ONE day before I loaded the original version 1.0 thinking if there was a conflict or hidden file somewhere that this would help. It didn't. I also tried changing the screen resolutions with no help.

What puzzles me though is that I can run the program (Version 1.1) on my office pc also running Vista sp1. I also tried it on an older XP computer and it works good also. The only difference I can see here is that these computers never had version 1.0 on them and they are using regular lcd computer monitors versus the one I am having the issue with uses a Sony 46" TV. I am at a loss getting help from the software site as everything is in Spanish. For that matter the whole editor is in Spanish.

I am not sure what to try next and need help.

New here and I really hope this to be the correct area. Sorry if incorrect. I am trying to reinstall my Microsoft Home and Student 2007. I previously had problems and had a relative (play AROUND deleting and whatnot) with my laptop till it worked. Most of this program works..all but the powerpoint which is what I need at the moment. I thought a reinstall would work, but when the cd starts, a box comes up asking to be DIRECTED to... Office.en-us\1033\dwintl20.dll. I do not KNOW if this is a driver or what. I have all the ORIGINAL cd's but just do not know what one to run to get this back on. I have vista on this. When I copy something from the Web to Word , no matter the font on the Web, it becomes Times Roman on my screen in Word. ARIEL is my favorite font and I want it to come up directly in Word when I copy. I have been copying Web material to Word, highlighting it, and then SELECTING Ariel and converting. But this is a nuisance. Is there a way to have it come up in Ariel immediately?
