I am in need of a program that can move files to a zip file automatically but it should only move these files to there.
Meaning the zip file is already created so i need a program that move files to the zip file automatically.
Can anybody help me with that or is there a comand i can use becouse a .bat file DOESNT work so i need some sort of program

When trying to install a computer game ONMY laptop I get the error message:

Runtime Error 339
Component 'R2CTLNS.OCX' not correctly registered: file is missing or invalid.

This game has previously installed and played fine on this laptop. Since then we have restored the laptop to factory settings so obviously all traces of the game have been removed, along with everything else. Since then we have reinstalled Windows and all drivers etc. All other PROGRAMMES are running fine.

Any ideas what the problem is?

Ooh also, Ive put this as a software problem because I believe its something to do with corrupted ActiveX files. Another big problem however is that I can't get into windowsupdate.com it says that it cannot open the window.1. Install updated drivers

I'm trying to write a script that RUNS an INSTALL with administrative rights. The problem is you can't use the "RUN as" command if it is an msi file. Is it possible to change the msi file to an executable?I don't think there's REALLY a way to convert a msi to an exe. You COULD try installsite.org, they may have something your trying to look for.

found this at another forum, i just edited it to fit this situation. i take no credit.

Go to your control panel/folder options. Click on file types and scroll down to (whatever the file extension is). Click on it once and click on the change button. LOCATE Quicktime in the list, if its not there click browse and navigate to Quicktime. Click apply/ok and it should remember the program.
try this.. It is in XP.. Open Quicktime.. and go to "Edit"> Preferences> File Assosiations or something like that it might also say something else.. im trying to REMEBER it.. and select all of them that you want Quick time to play them..

And try this also.. Go to the file that you DONT want Windows Media Player to play but Quick Time Right Click on it and select Proporties then find a buttom called "Change Application" and then find quick time and then right below the windows there is a check box it says " Always play this file with this defaults application" or something simmilar to that.. and check that and then hit OK and then APPLY and then OK.. and that is it.. now double click on and it should open with Quicktime insted of Windows Media Player...

In 1996 I wrote a Dissertation in Word on a 386 base unit running M/S 3.1 SOFTWARE (predating Windows 95) and which I still posess. I have recently moved house and all hard copy of my work (discs and paper) has been lost. When I boot up the 386 and enter the M/S software my work is nowhere to be seen.

I have been advised that it may be accessed via DOS? I have no expertise in this area and need to be provided with a guide(lines) is there anybody out there how can help?1996 is a LONG time ago, how good is your memory?
I used to have 3.11 and I can't remember 'word' being in it... I may be wrong.
With 'works for windows' the text files were .wps files.
If 3.1 has a search facility you could try searching for any likely file extensions using the '*' wildcard.
Search *.txt *.wps etc.
If the files are there, 3.1 should be able to 'see' them without having to resort to DOS.
Not much help but it's a start.
As a sideline... I still use 'works for windows' on my w2k and xp machines, it runs like a bullet.
I believe Notepad was installed by default.Type winfile at the A:\>.. just reboot pc.........are they in there!.....the ball is now in your court.....so to speak!

Hi! This is a vain attempt at getting an ANSWER to something i really want to know but have no idea where to look to get an answer to it......

With photoshop, or illustrator, can you scan in a PEN ink drawing, then make the white of the PAPER disappear/ go transparent, so you can then layer your drawing over the top of other things.? Is it possible? Problem is i know when you scan something in Photoshop recognises it as one thing, but i want to separate a black pen line from the paper it was drawn on. Can i do this without having to LABORIOUSLY cut around my drawing, producing crappy results?

I have an ACER Ferrari 4000 laptop. It has a wireless NETWORK card installed which up until now worked fine. I have a Netgear wireless router in my home running a 3 system network and I thought to share files with my desktop I needed to install the Netgear software on the laptop. When trying to do this the software disabled Windows ability to configure my wireless network adaptor and I can't use it to connect to anything now. Can somebody please help me?

BGIf this is what I think it is, this will be easy... Do this if you have Windows XP installed... Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Internet Connections -> Network Connections. Find the connection which is active and has the wireless symbol on it, and right-click on that. In the little menu that appears, click on Show Available Networks. A new windows will appear, and it should say that there are none available. On the left pane, click on Change Advanced Settings. In the new window that appears, you will see three tabs. General, Wireless Networks, and Advanced. Click on the Wireless Networks Tab. You will now see just under that tab a little check box that says "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings." Click on that check box to put a check in it, and press the OK button. The window which shows Available Wireless Networks probably needs to be refreshed, so in that window, click on the Refresh Network list button on the left pane. You should now see your network(s) and connect to them. At this time, I would suggest UNINSTALLING any Netgear software you have installed on this computer. If you do not, then when you restart, it will say that Microsoft is handling your connections, and Netgear shoudl be, etc. If that pops-up just click on no and uninstall the software. Good luck

Ok guys well ive had my DAP over a year now and ive just realised that im having to adjust the volume after just about every song which is probably draining the battery. So ive been thinking is there and software which will adjust the volume of all my songs thats is free and doesnt lose the quality of my songs being in the format of WMA and MP3. Ive got a few off google but they all either require a licence to convert more then ONE song at a TIME or the songs just sound completely crap at the end of it. Any advice would be apprecaited. First a bit of bad news: in order to play MP3 files, they must be uncompressed/decoded. In order to normalise the file, the entire file must be processed. Then the volume can be adjusted throughout the file. Finally the file has to be recompressed/encoded. This last part inevitably results in some loss of quality; the compression is lossy. The more times a file is uncompressed and recompressed, the more data is lost. Hence why you MAY not like the results.

I have a problem where my SYSTEM randomly CRASHES. I can play games for as long as I like with no problems. The temp stays around 50C.

However, when I run memtest for example it will sometimes be OK (no errors) other times it will just reboot the computer. It also, has this effect when using DVD Santa to create a slideshow.

I have run Hot CPU Tester and it has passed all tests (ran for the full 6 hours).

Would this be my PSU causing a reboot or is it any software? I have 2 DVD drives, Floppy, 2 HD, ATI Radeon 9800 AIW, 3 case fans. All running off of a 300W PSU?

There is an issue between ....incd and windows media PLAYER did you chose the close SESSION on nero?if so you will not be able to add more files to it....the best option is create a FOLDER say my disks...and load the files in there and burn 700mbs in one go.....or pay nero a visit.....Scratched... I'm really a newbie with database etc. things and now I'm trying to create a kind of a database or statistics about the fish my friends and I have caught. My idea is that I have the fish on rows and then I have columns for years, months, SPECIES, weight, lures etc..

My problem is that I want to get the sums from each column onto the first row of the corresponding column. I've got this far, but when I add another fish (=row) I would like Excel to increase the area from where it calculates the sum automatically to the new row. This is because my friends are adding the info there as well, and they know even less about Excel than I..

I have columns up to BT, so it's quite time consuming to do it by hand every time..

The second pic shows a thing I tried, but didn't work.. I tried to select the area for the sum in B2 to be the whole column B, but I couldn't exclude the cells B1, B2, B5 and B6 from the selection (tried ctrl-key), so it resulted in error message.. Any ideas on how I could solve the problem? I really don't know about all the features in Excel2000..

About a week ago, I started having trouble with my Office 2003 Professional software. I got the software from a authorized download site. furthermore, the software was in 5 downloads, the software is in very big files. The first download was the Basic Office applications. The rest is OneNote, FrontPage, Visio & MS Office Project Professional.

The first disc is Word, excel, Power Point, Outlook, Publisher, Access & InfoPath. This is the software that I'm having trouble with. When I try to reinstall it. I get this error MESSAGE: AN ERROR OCCURRED DURING INSTALLATIOIN AND SETUP WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE. PLEASE TELL MIRCROSOFT ABOUT THE PROBLEM.
Once I downloaded the software, I click on it, then open the file. In the file there is a SETUP.EXE FILE I click on it and it starts to install. It asks for the key, I put that in. Once it gets going it stops in the middle of installation, then I get that strange message. Can anyone out there shed some light on this problem. I was told to intall Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove the windows registy settings. It worked for the rest of the software, yet not this part. I still get the message. I reinstalled the other software with no problem. I hope that someone can understand this problem. I've been working on this for about a week and a half. Yet, no one can help me. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Im using a PC w/ 512 mb-160GB HD
Im using PS 6.0

Ive been using PS for years, and have never run into this:
I open a PICTURE, doesnt matter what ext, and the pict is fine. As soon as I adjust it in any way, randomly placed bars appear. The bars occur in no specific order, or palcement, and are always the CMYK color (Sold bars, not mixed.)


As you can see on the sample, those bars are objects. they can be selected and deleted. but new bars will appear. i am completely hamstringed. I tried everything I knew, and then resorted to re-installing the program. It did nothing.
I went to the Adobe site, but not knowing what this problem is called, searching was in vain. Any takers.

If the answers to all of the above are satisfactory, try this: uninstall ALL Adobe software from your PC, including Acrobat Reader. If you are asked whether you want to remove any shared files, say yes to all. Having done that, reboot your PC.

Find the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files, and delete the Adobe folder you'll find there. Also delete from C:\Program Files any Adobe folders that are there.

In fact, switch on viewing hidden files and folders, then do a search for anything called "Adobe". Delete the lot. (You can send it to the Recycle Bin, if you're nervous about completely deleting it.)

The aim of all of this is to ensure that any DLLs etc. that may have been corrupted are completely removed from your computer. It might be such a lingering file that mean a simple resintall doesn't solve your problem.

Then reinstall Photoshop. Hopefully all will now be well.ok, as soon as i find my glasses, i will try this. and post back tomorrow with the results. much appreciated robQuote

Like many other people using Microsoft AntiSpyware, I received an update notification saying that a new version was available. 9The old version expires on July 31st) So I installed this update, and once it was done, I went into Microsoft AntiSpyware to see what was new... Well... I didn't see anything different... So I clicked on Help -> About... It shows the OLD version... The NEW version is not displayed! Do I need to reboot the computer to see results? It did not say that I had to, but I'm running out of ideas...

i have windows media player 10 on my comp i am running xp pro sp2 i have wrote about this before in here and downloaded codecs for this and yet i am having a problem with plying a dvd on my comp am i setting it up wrong or is there something missing? i tried going into properties and the compatabilities PAGE and still nothing can't get the compatability page to even do anythingeven tried to go back to media player 9 and it won't let me tried deleting it and re installing ,no go.can anybody help me with this.and could i get an alternitive media player to use instead.

What are the particulars of the machine, operating system, service packs, DVD drive and any othere software you may have loaded to support that. Did it ever play DVD's? If so what happened? i hhave a dell optiplex gx150 running xp pro with sp2 pent 3 lite-on dvd rw sohw-1693s installed it after christmas have been backing up my disks with it.
if i did i can't remember whether it was sonic or roxio or nero.i haven't been able to playback using media player i have went to support and differant forums to get answers yet noting works.it keeps saying there is an errorand that windows media player is shutting down.loaded codecs from someone here that recomended it. still nothing.

go to this site, http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm and download the full codec pack (not the basic one) and as well as the codecs you will also get media player classic (make sure you CHOOSE to install it when given the option.) I use this for all my dvds and havent yet come across anything this player has had a problem with. Let me know how you go.blink,

i had entered in all my contacts into outlook last YEAR with the correct BIRTHDAYS. but for some reason now all the birthdays are appearing one day behind? is there anyway to fix this without having to go back and redo each individual birthday?I suspect this problem was caused by a daylight savings time CHANGE. What timezone are you in? Do you synchronise with a PDA? Did you enter the appointments as 12am-12am, or as all day events?i do sync with my treo 700w i had entered the birthdays in the contact information. they were not created as appointments. when you input contact info it ASKS to enter thier birthdate.im livingin new york.... eastern timezoneOh dear. I have found the "birthdays" function of Outlook's contacts database less than satisfactory in the past. I've had a Palm and I now have a WinMobile phone - fully synchronised with two PCs at once. I always ended up with lots of duplicated birthdays for some reason. Also, Outlook seems to handle birthdays slightly differently to any other annual recurring event. Goodness knows why.

Not that helpful to you now, but that "feature" may be best avoided.

When i download a dvd i takes me atleast 8 hours to burn the disc, is this normal? No i use nero to burn files onto dvd not just decode them.Try disabeling all programs not needed whilst decoding. Perhaps there is a memory hog present.

I have found that Nero isnt the best app to use to encode vid files ......if you were to encode a vid file of say 4gbs from say avi to dvd with a app like Main Concept MPEG Encoder it may take several hours to encode it and then use Nero express to burn it to DVD .......the burning process should take perhaps an hour ......... I'm just curious......what kind of a burner do you have that BURNS at 52X ...........usually they burn at maybe 4 or 6X ....... and what kind of DISKS are you using....... I use 4.7 gb DVD-R 8x compatible.

The size of the files i am burning are aprox. 700mb but when i go to burn them it says about 4.5gig. my dvd burner, burns DVDS on about 4* and my discs are about 4.7 gigGiDAY......Your file size is 700 mg ........in what format ?

The format is avi. and i use 4* dvd speed. No i dont have any other recoder program.and when its transcoding it plays the movie but it glitches and doesnt play the movie properly it jumps(will not play the movie smoothly)

I went in and FORMATTED my column to HIDE the time stamp, but it still did not work.

Ok here is the PROBLEM..I recorded some videos on my digital camera, and when put onto my "kodak easyshare program" it says them as a realone player. I want it to be set as WMP. This also applies to all my other videos! I'm trying to enter a number in an excel cell that begins with the number 0 (ie: 034567). when i move to the next cell excel drops the 0 and just displays the rest of the NUMBERS. i need for the 0 to be displayed.

dl65 i tried this and it does allow the leading 0 to remain in place. but if i have a column of numbers some with a leading 0 and some without and want to do a sort it does not sort correctly. if it sorted correctly all the numbers with a leading 0 should be at the top of the column.

do you have anyother ideas?I wonder why you put this question in the HARDWARE section, not in Software. ANYWAY, you must be doing something wrong. I tested sorting of some numbers, formated as Text, and the numbers starting with 0 do sort together at the beginning of the list when sorting in ascending order.

Do have the entire column, or at least the rows to be sorted, all formatted as text? You need to do that to get this to work right. When you start the sort, you should get a Sort Warning PANEL; in it, check the box for "Sort numbers and numbers stored as text separately".i thought i had put this under software, but evidently i didn't. sorry this is my first time in here.

you are right it does work as long as all the cells have the same format. that was my problem i only had those that needed the leading 0 set to text format. when i changed all cells to text it WORKED fine.
