9. the sum of the digits of a two digit number is 8. if 36 is added to the number the digits interchange their places. find the number

Answer»

Let the digit in units place be X
digit in THENS place = 8 - x
the original number = 10(8-x) + x
=80-9X
the reversed number= 10x + (8-x)
= 9x + 8
according to the condition,
80 - 9x +36 = 9x + 8
108=18x
x = 6
therefore, the original number is 80 -9(6)
80- 54

a garrison of 120 men has provision for 30 days. at the end of five days , 5 more men joined them.how many days can they sustain on the remaining provision?

Answer»

We know that no. of DAYS is inversely propotional to the PROVISION for men.

So for 120 men the provision would last for 30days. (given)

Therefore, the provision for 1 men would sustain for. 120 *30 = 3600 days.

Let after the joining of 5 men (after 5 days) the no of more days the provision would last is X days

A.t.q 120*30 = 120*5+125*x

(120*30) - (120*5)= 125x

120(30-5)=125x

120 * 25 = 125x

120 = 5x

x=120/5

x= 24

so the provision would REMAIN for more 24 days.

Hope it's help you

A plane left 30 minutes late than the scheduled time inorder to reach its destination 1500km away intime and it has to increase its speed by 250 km/hour from its usual speed. Find its usual speed

Answer»
hiiiii dear______❤️❤️❤️❤️

good evening_________________✌️✌️✌️
______________

_________________________

___________________

Let the USUAL TIME taken by the AEROPLANE = X km/hr
DISTANCE to the destination = 1500 km
Case (i)
Speed = Distance / Time = (1500 / x) Hrs

Case (iI)
Time taken by the aeroplane = (x - 1/2) Hrs
Distance to the destination = 1500 km
Speed = Distance / Time = 1500 / (x - 1/2) Hrs

Increased speed = 250 km/hr

⇒ [1500 / (x - 1/2)] - [1500 / x] = 250
⇒ 1/(2x2 - x) = 1/6
⇒ 2x2 - x = 6
⇒ (x - 2)(2x + 3) = 0
⇒ x = 2 or -3/2
Since, the time can not be negative,
The usual time taken by the aeroplane = 2 hrs
and the usual speed = (1500 / 2) = 750 km/hr.
