two cones with same base radius 15 cm and height 20 cm are joined together along their base. Find the surface area of the shape so formed. ( use π=3.14)?

Answer»

The figure will look somewhat like this.

By Pythagoras Theorem,

{l}^{<klux>2</klux>}  =  {h}^{2}  +  {r}^{2}  \\  {l}^{2}  =  {15}^{2}  +  {20}^{2}  \\  {l}^{2}  = 225 + 400 \\ l = <klux>25</klux>

So, the TOTAL Surface AREA of the SHAPE so formed =

2 \pi rl

= 2 × 3.14 × 15 × 25
= 2355 so. Cm

15.

the speed of an aeroplane is reduced by 40 km per hour it takes 20 minutes more to cover 1200 find the speed of the aeroplane

Answer»

Let the actual speed of the aeroplane be 'x' km/hr

So, speed after reduction = (x - 40) km/hr

Let the actual time taken by the aeroplane be y hr

and the time taken after the speed reduction = y + 20 min = (y + 20/60)

= (y + 1/3) hr

Total distance = 1200 km

So,

Distance = speed*time

1200 = x*y

XY = 1200

y = 1200/x .............(1)

After speed reduction,

1200 = (x - 40) (y + 1/3)

1200 = (x - 40) (3y + 1/3)

1200*3 = (x -40) (3y + 1)

Now, substituting the value of y = 1200/x, we get

3600 = (x - 40) (3*1200/x + 1)

3600 = (x - 40) (3600/x + 1)

3600x = (x - 40) (3600 + x)

3600x = x² + 3600x - 40x - 144000

x² - 40x - 144000 = 0

x² - 400x +360x - 144000 = 0

x(x - 400) + 360 (x - 400) = 0

(x - 400) (x + 360)

x = 400 and x = -360

Speed can't be NEGATIVE, so the actual speed of the aeroplane is 400 km/hr

substituting the value of y = 1200/x.

y = 1200/400

y = 3 hours

So, the actual time taken by the aeroplane is 3 hours.

Factorise : 9(a-2)² -16(a+2)². I need the answer to fast

Answer»

GIVEN Equation is 9(a - 2)^2 - 16(a + 2)^2

⇒ [3(a - 2)]^2 - [4(a + 2)]^2

We KNOW that a^2 - b^2 = (a + b)(a - b)

⇒ [3(a - 2) + 4(a + 2)][3(a - 2) - 4(a + 2)]

⇒ (3a - 6 + 4a + 8)(3a - 6 - 4a - 8)

Check whether L is parallel to m in each of the following figures. Give reasons for your answer

Answer»

\mathbb{ELLO \ THERE!}

--------

WAYS to CHECK If l║m

If CORRESPONDING angles are equal, l║m.

If co-interior angles are equal, l║m.

If alternate interior angles are equal, l║m.

If any ONE condition is OBEYED, we can tell the lines are parallel.

---------

First lets find angles that are able to be found.

∠PQS + 60° = 180° (Linear pair)

∠PQS = 180° - 60°

∠PQS = 120°

Now, we can see that corresponding angles PQS and PQM are equal,

Since corresponding angles are equal the lines are parallel!

----------

22.

Pls help with this one

Answer»

In the given question, it is STATED that the two arms of the angles' are PARALLEL. Thus these angles can be termed as corresponding angles.

Now, as we KNOW, two corresponding angles are always equal. Here, ONE of the angles is given 72°. Thus, the SECOND angel's magnitude will be 72° too.

Hence, solved.

A two-digit number is such that the product of its digits is 6. When 9 is added to this number; the digits interchange their places. Find the number.

Answer»

Let 2 digit no be XY

X× Y= 6

XY + 9 = YX

10 X + Y + 9= 10 Y + X

9X - 9 Y+ 9=0

X- Y + 1=0

ALSO X× Y = 6

X= 6/Y

put in x- y+1=0

6/y - y +1=0

6 - y.y+ y= 0

-y.y -2y + 3Y +6 =0

-y(y+2) +3(y+2) =0

y= 3,-2

take y=3

x= 6/3 = 2

SO number is 23

find the smallest number which when divided by 20 25 35 and 40 leaves a remainder of 14 19 29 and 34 respectively

Answer»

lCM of 20, 25, 35, and 40 = 1400

Now,

20 - 6 = 14

25 - 6 = 19

35 - 6 = 29

40 - 6 = 34

So, (1400 - 6 = 1394) will have remainder of 14, 19, 29, and 34 when DIVIDED by 20, 25, 35, and 40 resp.

Ans: 1394

Please answer this question 4 marks maths surface area and volumes

Answer»

Here is your solution

GIVEN:-
Length = 22M
Breadth = 20m

Radius of conical vessel = 2/2 =1m

Height of conical vessel =3.5m

Now

Volume of rainwater=volume of conical vessel
= pi ×r ^2 × h
=3.14 × 1×1×3.5
=11m^3

Volume of rainwater=22×20×d
11m=440×d
d=11/440

Two measuring tapes are having 8cm and 25cm length.the least lenth that can be measured by both the tapes exactly is

Answer»

Answer:

1 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering that we have 2 accurate scales of 25 cm and 8 cm, we have to find a relation between the two scales that allow us to measure the smallest length ACCURATELY. To achieve this, we look for multiples of 25 or 8 that when subtracted from multiples of the other number give the least possible VALUE. Since both the numbers here are real, the minimum value cannot be in decimals.

Now, it is observed that on holding the 25 cm SCALE straight and subtracting a value equal to thrice the length of the 8 cm scale (24 cm), we get 1 cm as the measurable value. Since it was mentioned that the smallest value can only be real numbers, 1 cm is least length achievable.

The sum of 3 consecutive number is 228, determine the second integer

Answer» hey \: mate \: here \: is \: your \: answer

\textbf{Given That.... }

The Sum Of 3 Consecutive ( example- (1,2,3) , (6,7,8) ) Numbers Is 228 , We Need To
Find Second Number.

\textbf{Solution...}

Now To Find The Numbers First . Follow The Simple Steps ..

1)) Let The

- First Number = X

Now As All Are Consecutive.

So The Second Number Would Be = X + 1

And Third Number = X + 2

So Now According To Question

The Sum Of All The Three Numbers = 228

That is ➡️

(x)+ (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 228

Now Opening The Bracket And Finding The Sum We have...

3x + 3 = 228

Now TAKING 3 To RHS We Have ➡️...

3x = 228 - 3

That Is ➡️

3x = 225

Now Taking 3 To RHS We Have....

x = \frac{225}{3} = 75

Now We Know The Value Of X = 75

Now Putting This Value In Assumed Number We Have ....

First Number = X = 75

Second Number = X + 1 ➡️ 75 + 1 = 76

And

The Third Number = X + 2 ➡️ 75 + 2 = 77

Now The Second Integer Is Equal To 76

\textbf{Hence The Required Answer Is..}

\textbf{Second Integer = 76}
