What is the nth term of a sequence

Answer»

The nth TERM. The 'nth' term is a formula with 'n' in it which ENABLES you to find any term of a SEQUENCE without having to go up from one term to the next. 'n' stands for the term number so to find the 50th term we WOULD just substitute 50 in the formula in PLACE of 'n'.

13.

Associative property of rational numbers with examples

Answer»

The associative property states that you can ADD or multiply REGARDLESS of how the numbers are GROUPED. By 'grouped' we mean 'how you use parenthesis'. In other words, if you are ADDING or multiplying it does not matter where you put the parenthesis. Add some parenthesis any where you like!.

15.

If ABCD is a quadrilateral in which AB is parallel to CD and AD=BC , prove that angle A = angle B

Answer»

AB || DC and AD = BC.

Extend the sides AD and BC till E and F as SHOWN.

As AB and CD are two parallel lines and AD intersects them both, the angles D and EAB are same.  But angle EAB = 180 - A.  so,

             angle D = 180 - A

Similarly, the line BC intersects parallel lines AB and DC, so

           angle C = angle FBA = 180 - B

Now, draw perpendiculars from D and C onto AB meeting AB at G and H respectively.

     Since AB || DC, the sides DG || CH.

               Also,  DG = CH = distance between the parallel lines.

Looking at the triangles DGA and CHB, we find that

            DG = CH,    AD = BC (GIVEN),  angle G = angle H  = 90°.

  Δ DGA and Δ CHB are congruent.  Hence angle A = angle B.

     So, angle C = 180 - angle A = 180 - angle B = angle

Answer»

5 + 2√3 ) / ( 7 + 4√3 )

= ( 5 + 2√3 ) / ( 7 + 4√3 ) × ( 7 – 4√3 ) / ( 7 – 4√3 )

= ( 5 + 2√3 ) ( 7 – 4√3 ) / [ ( 7)² – ( 4√3)² ]

= [ 5 ( 7 – 4√3 ) + 2√3 ( 7 – 4√3 ) ] / ( 49 – 48 )

A solid is in the shape of a cone surmoundted on a hemisphere the radius of each of them is being 3.5cm and the total height of solid is 9.5 cm find the volume of solid

Answer» TOTAL height = 9.5cm
cone height = Total height - hemisphere height
cone height = 9.5 - 3.5 = 6 cm

r = 3.5cm

Volume of solid = 2/3 ×pi ×r^3 + pi×r^2×h

= pi×r^2 (2/3×r + h)

= 22/7 × (3.5)^2 (2/3 ×3.5 + 6)

= 22×0.5×3.5 (2.31 + 6)

= 38.5 × 8.31

= 46.81 cm^3

in a parallelogram ABCD, two points P and Q are taken on its diagonal BD such that DP=BQ. prove that APQC is a parallelogram

Answer»

In parallelogram ABCD, two points P and Q are taken on diagonal BD such that DP = BQ.
To Prove: (i) ∆APD ≅ ∆CQB
(ii)     AP = CQ
(iii)    ∆AQB ≅ ∆CPD
(IV)    AQ = CP
(v)     APCQ is a parallelogram.
Construction: Join AC to intersect BD at O.
Proof: (i) In ∆APD and ∆CQB,

∵ AD || BC
| Opposite sides of parallelogram ABCD and a transversal BD intersects them
∴ ∠ADB = ∠CBD
| Alternate interior angles
⇒ ∠ADP = ∠CBQ    ...(1)
DP = BQ    | Given (2)
AD = CB    ...(3)
| Opposite sides of ||gm ABCD In view of (1), (2) and (3)
∆APD ≅ ∆CQB
| SAS CONGRUENCE criterion
(ii)    ∵ ∆APD ≅ ∆CQB
| Proved in (i) above
∴ AP = CQ    | C.P.C.T.
(iii)    In ∆AQB and ∆CPD,
∵ AB || CD
| Opposite sides of ||gm ABCD and a transversal BD intersects them
∴ ∠ABD = ∠CDB
| Alternate interior angles
⇒ ∠ABQ = ∠CDP
QB = PD    | Given
AB = CD
| Opp. sides of || gm ABCD
∴ ∆AQB ≅ ∆CPD | SAS Congruence Rule
(iv) ∵    ∆AQB = ∆CPD
| Proved in (iii) above
∴ AQ = CP    | C.P.C.T.
(v)    ∵ The diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.

∴ OB = OD
∴ OB - BQ = OD - DP
| ∵ BQ = DP (given)
∴ OQ = OP    ...(1)
Also, OA = OC    ...(2)
| ∵ Diagonals of a || gm bisect each other
In view of (1) and (2), APCQ is a parallelogram.

25.

Q12 pls asap brainliest question

Answer»

Tan X = √(sec² x - 1) = √{(SEC x + 1)(sec x - 1)}
so,LHS= tan x/(sec x - 1) =√{(sec x + 1)(sec x - 1)}/(sec x - 1)
=√{(sec x + 1)/(sec x - 1)}
=(sec x + 1)/√(sec²x -1)
=(sec x + 1)/tan x

RHS = tan x + sec x + 1/tan x + sec x - 1
= (tan²x+sec²x+1+2tan x sec x+2tan x +2sec x)/(tan²x+sec²x+2tan x sec x - 1)
=(2sec²x+2tan x sec x + 2tan x + 2sec x)/(2tan²x + 2tan x sec x)
=(sec x (1+sec x) + tan x ( 1 + sec x))/{tan x (tan x + sec x)}
=(sec x + 1)/tan x
so, LHS=RHS [SHOWED.]
[P.S.: Theta is denoted with "x" here.]
