WHAT IF Oglethorpe never met to Tomochichi?

Answer»

ong>ANSWER:

Tomochichi was the MICO, or chief, of the Yamacraw Indians. The Yamacraw were a small band of Lower Creek Indians that lived in coastal Georgia when Oglethorpe arrived with the colonists. When Oglethorpe selected Yamacraw Bluff as the site for the colony’s first settlement, Mico Tomochichi welcomed him and the colonists. Some of the colonists were ill from the long voyage and stayed in the house of John Musgrove in the Yamacraw village while permanent structures were built in the new town of Savannah. John Musgrove’s wife Mary Musgrove had an English FATHER and Creek mother and served as interpreter between the English and the Indians.

Mico Tomochichi was happy to have the colonists SETTLE near them because it was an opportunity for his people to trade with and to establish diplomatic connections with the English. As outcasts from the Lower Creek Confederacy, the Yamacraw needed an opportunity to show the value of his people to the other Creek communities. Disagreements over diplomatic relationships with the English and Spanish after the Yamasee War led to Tomochichi’s exile from the Lower Creeks and RELOCATION to the banks of the Savannah River.

Answer»

ong>Answer:The Acts of Union were two Acts of Parliament: the Union with Scotland ACT 1706 passed by the Parliament of England, and the Union with England Act passed in 1707 by the Parliament of Scotland. They put into effect the terms of the Treaty of Union that had been agreed on 22 July 1706, following negotiation between commissioners representing the parliaments of the two countries. By the two Acts, the Kingdom of England and the Kingdom of Scotland—which at the time were separate states with separate legislatures, but with the same monarch—were, in the words of the Treaty, "United into One Kingdom by the Name of GREAT Britain". The two countries had shared a monarch since the Union of the CROWNS in 1603, when King James VI of Scotland inherited the ENGLISH throne from his double first cousin twice removed, Queen Elizabeth I. Although described as a Union of Crowns, until 1707 there were in fact two separate Crowns RESTING on the same head.

Answer» ONG>ANSWER:

what is the QUESTION??

43.

“Sir Syed Ahmed Khan’s political services were more important than the educational ones”. Do you agree? Give reasons. 3 paragraphs No irrelevent ans

Answer»

ong>Answer:

before the revolt of 1857. He even PENNED a pamphlet titled The Causes of the Indian Revolt to EXPLAIN the reasons of the revolt from a “native perspective”. However, witnessing the near annihilation of the Muslim elites prompted Sir Syed Ahmad Khan to TAKE up the case of Muslims and his life-long journey as an Islamic reformer and educationist is a testament to his dedication.

“Post-ghadar (revolt), I was not DISAPPOINTED by looting of my house and loss of belongings. I was disturbed due to the ruination of my qaum,” Khan said. He initially thought to leave the country but decided against it later. “I gave up the idea of migration and decided to struggle for the rebuilding of the qaum.”

Born on 17 October 1817 to a wealthy family that was close to the Mughal court, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan wore many hats: Civil servant, journalist, historian. However, he is, first and foremost, known for his pioneering role in transforming the educational opportunities for Muslims. He recognised that education is the most important tool through which Muslims could emerge from a position of disadvantage and compete with Hindus, especially Bengali Hindus who were at the pinnacle of the political scene at the time.

He pushed for educational and social reforms and was a champion of democratic ideals and freedom of speech. In one of his essays he wrote, “Freedom of expression is the right of everyone… Suppression of opinions, be it for any religious fear, or the fear of community and tribe or the fear of being defamed, or the fear of the government – is very bad”
