Explain the features of any state in India (geograpical factors) |
Answer» Answer: Tamilnadu Explanation: Tamil NADU covers an area of 130,058 km2 (50,216 sq mi), and is the tenth-largest state in India. The BORDERING states are Kerala to the west, Karnataka to the north-west and Andhra Pradesh to the north. To the east is the Bay of Bengal and the state encircles the union territory of Puducherry. The southernmost tip of the Indian Peninsula is Kanyakumari which is the meeting point of the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean. The western, southern, and the northwestern PARTS are hilly and RICH in vegetation. The Western Ghats and the Eastern Ghats meet at the Nilgiri Hills. The Western Ghats traverse the entire western border with Kerala, EFFECTIVELY blocking much of the rain-bearing clouds of the south-west monsoon from entering the state. The eastern parts are fertile coastal plains and the northern parts are a mix of hills and plains. The central and the south-central regions are arid plains and receive less rainfall than the other regions. Tamil Nadu has the country's third-longest coastline at about 906.9 km (563.5 mi).Tamil Nadu's coastline bore the brunt of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami when it hit India, which caused 7,793 direct deaths in the state. Tamil Nadu falls mostly in a region of low seismic hazard with the exception of the western border areas that lie in a low to moderate hazard zone; as per the 2002 Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) map, Tamil Nadu falls in Zones II and III. Historically, parts of this region have experienced seismic activity in the M5.0 range. |

I want an essay on:Effects of lockdown in the environment.please help. |
Answer» Answer: Explanation: COVID-19 is a huge tragedy for the world community. EVERYTHING in the world is affected due to this pandemic right from economy to resources where the economy of major countries of the world are facing recession and resources are SURPLUS with no takers at all. The measures to contain COVID-19 pandemic include lockdown, social distancing, isolation, and home quarantine. Lockdown adopted by the different governments which involve non-functioning of all the industry and MANUFACTURING units. However, as a blessing in disguise, these measures have a positive effect on the environment in terms of reduction in toxic gasses like nitrogen dioxide, aerosols, atmosphere ozone, particulate matter, and improvement in air quality. In this paper, the effect on various environmental parameters like aerosol, ozone, particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, and temperature on India by lockdown due to COVID-19 as a preventive measure has been analyzed. The work involves the refining and preprocessing of raw data of this year and last year of various harmful pollutants present in the environment along with SATELLITE images from National Aeronautics and Space Administration for comparison of different parameters. It has been observed that with the above adopted measures temperature has been reduced to near about 15 degree Celsius, there is also reduction in humidity i.e. it is reduced to 40%, particulate matter (PM2.5) reaches near about normal i.e. 40 g/m3 and carbon monoxide levels has also been reduced to 10 ppm. The main idea is to emphasize the fact that how the environment is self-healing during the lockdown. And this study will be beneficial to ENVIRONMENTALISTS and industry professionals to make the future strategy for improving the environment. |

2.Explain different methods to draw distributional maps. |
Answer» Methods to draw distributional maps are:ISOPLETH METHOD The method by which the distribution of any attribute is shown with the help of lines of equal values, in a map are called isopleth method. For these maps we need the accurate data of a particular attribute such as altitude, temperature, rainfall, etc of some place of a particular region. CHOROPLETH METHOD In the choropleth method, the data of various geographical VARIABLES are shown by shades or tints of various colours. While drawing these maps the data is obtained through measurement, surveying etc. Generally, a darker shade or more closely spaced pattern is used to represent larger quantities of the phenomenon and a LIGHTER shade or more sparsely spaced pattern is used to represent smaller quantities. DOT METHOD A dot map, is a map that uses a dot symbol to show the distribution of a feature or phenomenon. These maps are prepared using statistical data. To show the distribution through dot method, the value of a dot has to be determined. The number of dots and the size of the dots are also considered while drawing these maps.
