How was charge and mass of the electron determined?

Answer» RGE and Mass of electron was DETERMINED by a series of SCIENTISTS working on cathode rays..J.J. THOMPSON determined the Charge/Mass ratio of Electron Which was =1.75×10^10 Coloumb/kgMilikian conducted an experiment with an oil drop and determined the total charge of an electron which was=1.6×10^-19 ColoumbBy putting the value of Charge in the Ratio GIVEN by J.J Thompson we can get the mass of electron which is=9.1×10^-31kgHope you got your Answer....

What are amphoteric oxide,choose from amongst following ...na2o zno al2o3 co2 h2o

Answer»

the given oxides, zinc oxide (ZnO) and aluminium oxide (Al2O3) are amphoteric oxides. (b) Non-metals are electron acceptors. Hence, they cannot donate ELECTRONS to H+ ions to form hydrogen gas (H2). (a) METAL oxides that react with both acids and bases to produce salt and WATER are known as amphoteric oxides.

s a conventional methodThe names of the electron shells come from a fellow named Charles G. Barkla, a spectroscopist who studied the X-rays that are EMITTED by atoms when they are hit with high ENERGY electrons. ... This INNERMOST shell is now called the K-shell, after the label used for the X-ray.

What is actipn of acidified potassium dichromate on so2?

Answer»

dioxide gas (SO2) is BUBBLED through acidified potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7/H+). The orange SOLUTION TURNS green. Colour changes: K+ in K2Cr207 is a colourless ion, and dichromate (Cr2O72-) is an orange solution. SO2 is a colourless gas, so the INTIAL solution is orange

18.

What i incrase of formaldehde> acetaldehyde>propionaldehyde?

Answer»

ehyde, propionaldehyde, formaldehyde and acrolein have previously been reported to possess indirect sympathomimetic activity. The objective of this study was to examine the action of these aldehydes on isolated smooth muscle systems. Acetaldehyde and propionaldehyde were relatively equipotent and reversible in producing contractile responses in rat vas deferens which were blocked by reserpine pretreatment. These aldehydes produced an increase in LOSS of radioactivity after exposure of tissues to 14C norepinephrine and DECREASED ACCUMULATION of 14C norepinephrine and 45Ca in isolated smooth muscle systems. Formaldehyde and acrolein produced irreversible contractile responses in rat vas deferens which were not blocked by reserpine pretreatment. Loss of radioactivity after exposure of tissues to norepinephrine nonrepinephrine was increased in a nonlinear fashion and both aldehydes also reduced accumulation of 14C norepinephrine and 45Ca. It appears that all 4 aldehydes interact with tissue norepinephrine stores and affect nonspecific membrane calcium binding sites. Formaldehyde and acrolein are POTENTIALLY more toxic than acetaldehyde and propionaldehyde in similar concentrations and may CAUSE irreversible contraction of smooth muscle by altering membrane continuity.

This question is from the periodic table and the question is that Write the general characteristics of F block elements. and don't copy it from google give me perfect answer

Answer»

Characteristics of F-block elements are:The position of f block elements in the periodic table, is explained above. The elements in which the extra electron enters ( n- 2 )f orbitals are called f- block elements. These elements are also called as INNER transition elements because they FORM a transition series within the transition elements. The f-block elements are also known as rare earth elements. These are divided into two series.   i) The LANTHANIDE series (4f-block elements) ii) The Actinide series (5f- block elements )

33.

(CH3)2NH is more basic than (CH3)3N in an aqueous solution.. Why.??? On the basis of electron donating.

Answer»

ous solution the solvent readily donates a proton which is accepted by either BASE to form it's conjugate acid... In case of secondary and tertiary AMINE the conjugate acid is stabilized or destabilized by three factors I. E, Inductive effect, hydrogen bonding and streric repulsion... All these favour 2ndary amine to be the strongest base... Now if the ALKYL group is large ORDER will be, secondary amine >tertiary amine > primary amine

35.

What do you mean by the term "industrial and biological nitrogen fixation"?

Answer»

re economic, environmental, and agronomic benefits from using BNF in cropping systems. All living things require nitrogen. It is a key ELEMENT of amino acids, the building BLOCKS of proteins. There is a HUGE reservoir of N in the atmosphere. APPROXIMATELY 80% of the air consists of nitrogen gas (N2), but plants cannot use atmospheric N DIRECTLY to make protein.
