5.

What are requirement of IR spectroscopy.explain in detail ?

Answer»

We implicitly assume that the radiation has the correct energy. As radiation is ELECTRIC dipole in NATURE (it consists of oscillating electric and magnetic fields) if the molecule also generates an oscillating electric field it can interact with the radiation; energy is taken from the radiation field and ENTERS the molecule. Thus a molecule may gain a QUANTUM of vibrational or rotational energy or an excited STATE may be produced.

6.

Why and how size of ions and solvation affect electrolytic conduction? Explain.

Answer»

Answer:

Please mark the answer as brilliant and follow me.

Explanation:

Radius DECREASES, SMALLER ions carrying current in small area, more ASSOCIATIONS with anions & due to this, the ions BECOME heavy & they move with reduced speed as compared to less associated ones, & thus conductivity decreases.

Total number of nucleon present in 12g of carbon atom

Answer»

Heya!

here is your ANSWER...

No of moles of carbon atoms = 12 g/12g/mole = 1 mole
We know that,Number of atoms = number of moles x Avogadro number
= 1 x 6.022 x 1023 = 6.022 x 1023 In 1 atom of carbon there are 6 PROTONS and 6 neutrons = 12 NUCLEONS.
The number of nucleons = 6.022 x 1023 x 12
= 7.2264 x 1024

10.

the number of atoms present in 0.5 g atom of nitrogen is same as the atoms inA. 12g of CB. 32 g of SC. 8g of oxygenD. 24g of Mg

Answer» There is no CORRECT option out of A, B, C, D.

And I believe that you have committed a little mistake when noting down the Question.
If we replace NITROGEN with Hydrogen in the Question,

The Correct ANSWER Will be C. 8g of Oxygen

Because, MOLES of Hydrogen in 0.5 g of Hydrogen = 0.5 moles

and Moles of Oxygen in 8g of Oxygen = 8/16 = 0.5 moles

Volume of water needed to mix with 10 ml 10 n hno3 to get 0.1 n hno3

Answer»

This is a case of DILUTION of a solution

We can use the formula:

n1v1 = n2v2

Where, n1 and v2 are ORIGINAL VALUES and n2 and v2 are final values

10 x 10 = 0.1 x v2

v2  = 100/0.1 = 1000 ml

Volume of water needed = 1000 - 10 = 990 ml

17.

Example of organic chemistry

Answer»

Organic chemistry is the chemistry of CARBON COMPOUNDS. All organic compounds contain carbon; however, there are some compounds of carbon that are not CLASSIFIED as organic. For EXAMPLE, salts such as carbonates (e.g., Na 2 CO 3 , CACO 3 ) and cyanides (e.g., NaCN, KCN) are usually designated as inorganic.

21.

Why is cucl a solid not soluble if cucl2 is soluble

Answer»

Compounds of halides and first or second column elements are highly soluble in water, because each atom readily donates or accepts an ELECTRON (or two). Calcium, a 2nd column element, readily gives up 2 electrons to form a +2 ion. Copper is not as willing. The BEHAVIOR of transition metals such as copper is not as uniform as the first and second column elements. That's the basic difference.

Btw, CuCl2 is actually pretty soluble. The highly INSOLUBLE ONE is CuCl.

Molecular dynamics investigation of oxide ion transport in Sr-doped LaMnO3

Answer»

A comprehensive investigation of OXIDE ion transport in La1−xSrxMnO3−0.5x (x = 0.2 and 0.5) over the temperature RANGE of 800–2000 K is carried out employing long molecular dynamics simulations. The macroscopic structural and transport properties are in good AGREEMENT with previous experimental studies. The role of La/Sr ordering on oxide ion diffusivity is investigated. Fresh insights on diffusion pathways, MICROSCOPIC energetics and MECHANISM of oxide ion transport are derived.

37.

Various events which could take place on a lattice

Answer»

Lattice is a type of potential energy that may be defined in two ways. In one definition, the lattice energy is the energy required to break apart an ionic solid and convert its component atoms into gaseous ions. This definition causes the value for the lattice energy to always be POSITIVE, since this will always be an endothermic reaction. The other definition says that lattice energy is the reverse process, meaning it is the energy released when gaseous ions bind to form an ionic solid. As implied in the definition, this process will always be exothermic, and thus the value for lattice energy will be negative. Its values are usually expressed with the units kJ/mol.

Lattice Energy is used to explain the stability of ionic solids. Some might expect such an ordered STRUCTURE to be LESS stable because the entropy of the system would be low. However, the crystalline structure allows each ION to interact with multiple oppositely charge ions, which causes a HIGHLY favorable change in the enthalpy of the system. A lot of energy is released as the oppositely charged ions interact. It is this that causes ionic solids to have such high melting and boiling points. Some require such high temperatures that they decompose before they can reach a melting and/or boiling point.

38.

Why we mostly use the sodium a reactive element?

Answer»

Within the alkali metals, sodium is more reactive than LITHIUM but LESS reactive than potassium. Its IONIZATION energy is higher than potassium but lower than lithium. It has ONE electron in the outermost electron shell and thus wants to give up one electron to higher ELECTRONEGATIVE element

How will be the melting and boiling points in intramolecular hydroden bonding

Answer» CONSIDER a typical example: ortho-nitrophenol has a lower melting and boiling point than para-nitrophenol. The interactions between MOLECULES are much stronger where there are intermolecular HYDROGEN bonds (as a para-nitrophenol ) because the bonds are FORMED between molecules.

48.

Bond order of {{O}_{2}}is [DPMT 2004]A) 2 B) 1.5 C) 3 D) 3.5

Answer» BOND ORDER is :

(no. of bonding ELECTRONS - no. of antibonding electrons)/2

no. of bonding e in O2 = 10
no. of antibonding e in o2 = 6

10-6 = 4
4/2 = 2

so 2 is the bond order for o2
