2.

The effect of substitutents on the carboxylic acid

Answer»

case of carboxylic acids, if the electrophilic character of the CARBONYL CARBON is decreased the acidity of the carboxylic acid will also DECREASE. Similarly, an INCREASE in its ELECTROPHILICITY will increase the acidity of the acid. ... Electronegative substituents increase acidity by inductive electron withdrawal.

Properties and applicatiin of phenol formeldihyde

Answer»

formaldehyde are the synthetic high polymers. These are formed by the reaction with phenol and substitute phenol with formaldehyde. Besides polyurethanes and polyesters, phenolic and epoxy resins are the most prominent applications for technical lignin’s in thermo setting materials. Phenolic resins are formed by a step growth polymerization reaction that can be either at the presence of acid or base which are used as catalyst. It is normally in liquid state and it’s specific gravity varies from 1.12 to 1.16.Properties and Uses of Phenolic Resins:Properties Phenolic ResinsIn Phenol formaldehyde wide range of molding powders is AVAILABLE in which the composition of the resin, fillers etc is varied to provide mouldings suitable for many purposes. Here compression and transfer processes commonly used. The phenolic resin’s polarisability is 10-24cm3  and Enthalpy of VAPORIZATION is 43.52 kJ/mol. It’s polar surface area is 9.23 Å2 .It has 1 H bond donor and 1 H bond acceptor. 72.5 °C is it‘s flash point, 181.8 °C at 760 mmHg it’s boiling point and 0.614 mmHg at 25°C is it’s vapor pressure. Phenolic resin has the colour is Resin itself tends to be amber-colored. It has Wide variation depending on fillers and nature of resin. It is Smooth and has lustrous surface. Usually it seems hard and rigid, with good dimensional stability. It may be brittle in thin sections with low impact strength. It is very easy to mould. Phenolic resin has Retain properties at freezing temperatures. The phenol formaldehyde have Improved strength and dimensional stability and Improved impact resistance and ALSO cast resins. It’s color is good normally transparent and may be colorless  It is good dimensional stability on heating up to about 300 degree F Poor conductors of heat , so that handles of pans etc stay cool to touch. It can burn only with difficulty. Age of phenolic resin is negligible deterioration. Electrical if we will verify then it is good electrical insulators, Laminated Plastics. Properties generally related to those of moulded plastics.Uses or  Application:Phenol formaldehyde have so many uses in different industry. Phenolic resins are mainly used in the circuit board production that is for making circuit board like PCB ….etc this phenolic resins are used. In Electrical equipment also it is needed  ,caps, handles,  buttons,  RADIO cabinets, furniture,  knobs, vacuum cleaner, cameras, ash trays, engine ignition equipment. It is also used in Laminated Material like Laminated sheets, rods and tubes are made in great variety from fabric, PAPER, wood veneers etc impregnated with phenolic, resins providing a range of materials of widely differing properties.Examples of Uses  of Phenolis Resin:Phenolis Resin in Electrical equipment are  building panels gears and bearings, chemical equipment, air plane parts, clutch and brake linings, jigs and dies. In case of Cast Resins Phenolic resins of several types are produced for casting and potting. Examples of Uses that are Imitation jwellery, ornaments, handles and knobs, advertising display,  instrument panel,  jigs and dies however for the production of molded products including pool balls laboratory counter tops  and as coatings and adhesives they are well known. They are the earliest commercial synthetic resin in the form of Bakelite.

Physico chemical properties and rheological properties of honey

Answer»

pose of this work was to investigate the physicochemical and rheological properties of Romanian honey, and particularly to analyze the INFLUENCE of moisture CONTENT, °Brix concentration and temperature. All the samples were characterized to determine their physicochemical (moisture, °Brix, pH, ash, conductivity, colour, 5-hydroxymethylfurfural content, sugar content, DIASTASE activity) and bioactive (antioxidant activity, TOTAL phenols content and total flavonoids content) parameters. All the investigated honeys displayed Newtonian behaviour at all temperatures. Four experimental viscosity models were checked using the experimental DATA to correlate the influence of temperature upon honey viscosity; The William-Landel-Ferry model was much suitable than Power Law, Arrhenius and Vogel-Taumman-Fulcher models for temperature-viscosity modelling. By using the polynomial modeling method, it was possible to develop a mathematical model to describe honey viscosity in the function of temperature and chemical composition. The model achieved, developed from the viscosity, temperature and chemical composition allows predicting the evolution of the dynamic viscosity.
