Predict how breeding the male and female rabbits will affect the genetic variation in the population. Do you think there will there be a higher or lower amount of variation within the population? Why? |
Answer» selection (GS) has been implemented in animal and plant species, and is regarded as a useful tool for accelerating genetic gains. Varying levels of GENOMIC PREDICTION accuracy have been obtained in plants, depending on the prediction problem assessed and on several other factors, such as trait heritability, the RELATIONSHIP between the individuals to be predicted and those USED to train the models for prediction, number of markers, sample size and genotype × environment interaction (GE). The main objective of this article is to describe the results of genomic prediction in International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center’s (CIMMYT’s) maize and wheat breeding programs, from the initial assessment of the predictive ability of different models using pedigree and marker information to the present, when methods for implementing GS in PRACTICAL global maize and wheat breeding programs are being studied and investigated. Results show that pedigree (population structure) accounts for a sizeable proportion of the prediction accuracy when a global population is the prediction problem to be assessed. However, when the prediction uses unrelated populations to train the prediction equations, prediction accuracy becomes negligible. When genomic prediction includes modeling GE, an increase in prediction accuracy can be achieved by borrowing information from correlated environments. Several questions on how to incorporate GS into CIMMYT’s maize and wheat programs remain unanswered and subject to further investigation, for example, prediction within and between related bi-parental crosses. Further research on the quantification of breeding value components for GS in plant breeding populations is required. |

Answer» ..☆☆ MENDELEEV'S PERIODIC LAW ☆☆¤¤ By Evonvich Mendeleev in 1872. According to his law, " The physical and chemical properties of ELEMENTS are periodic functions of their atomic masses".¤¤ He gave 9 veritcal columns CALLED groups.¤¤ He gave 7 horizontal columns called periods.☆☆ ADVANTAGES OF MENDELEEV'S PERIODIC LAW ☆☆¤¤ He gave simplified and systematic way for study of elements.¤¤ He left space for the elements which were not discovered at that time and gave NIGHT prediction. ¤¤ He gave CORRECTION in atomic weights of some elements. E.g. Be was 13.5 and was corrected to "9".☆☆ DRAWBACKS OF MENDELEEV'S PERIODIC LAW ¤¤ He could not identify position of hydrogen exactly. ¤¤ The arrangement according to atomic weight was not correct.¤¤ No space for Isotopes.¤¤ Lanthanoids and Actinoids were not given proper position.¤¤ Dissimilar elements grouped together. E.g. Li, Na, K with Cu, Ag and AU. |

Modification in dietary advice is REQUIRED, depending on developmental stage. In type 2 diabetes, the initial challenge is to achieve weight loss of 5-10% body weight, NORMALISE blood glucose and reduce cardiovascular risk factors. Specific strategies include a kilojoule controlled diet with reduced saturated fat, trans fat and sodium; moderate protein; and high in dietary fibre and low glycaemic index carbohydrates. Carbohydrates should be spread evenly throughout the day and matched to medication.Hope it will be helpfulPls mark me as brainlist |

Whether lipid or protein can flip flop? |
Answer» id mosaic MODEL was originally proposed by S. Jonathan Singer and Garth Nicolson in 1972. Their idea of this model was to show and DESCRIBE the general structure of a biological membrane. Biological membrane is composed of a lipid bilayer" that is ESSENTIALLY a two-dimensional solution composed of lipids and proteins. The lipid bilayer functions as both a solvent for integral proteins as well as a permeability barrier. To break down each part of the name of the model: The fluidity of the model is based on the hydrophobic components like proteins and lipids. These two components allow for the membrane to have a fluid motion SINCE it is not solid; it is not made of only one type of macromolecule. The mosaic part of the name of the model is based on the fact that mosaics are created by using different pieces to obtain an overall picture. The mosaic model consists of not just one type of integral component but rather multiple (such as GLYCOPROTEINS or phospholipids). Because of the model being made of different pieces, it creates a mosaic, hence the name. |
