Explain structure of eye, briefly

Answer»

Our eye contains of eyelids, eyelashes, eyebrows and lachrymal glands. A thin LAYER , called conjunctiva covers the front portion of the eye. The eye ball is LOCATED in the  eye socket . only 1/6 portion of the eye ball is visible to us .

Eye has three main layers. they are sclerotic layer or sclera , choroid layer and retina. the outer most thick tough ,fibrous , non-elastic and white coloured layer is sclera . the sclera bulges and forms cornea . the end of sclera connects to the optic nerve . the second layer is choriod layer. this layer is black in colour and contains a lot if blood VESSELS. ait ENCLOSES the eye except the part pupill. the part formed by the choroid layer around the PUPIL is iris. Radial and circular uscles are present in the iris . biconvex lens is present immediately behind the pupil is attached to the ciliary muscles and suspensory lingaments .
the lens dividesd the inner eye ball as aqueous chamber and vitreous chamber. aqueous chamber is filled with water like fluid whereas vitreous chamber is filled with jelly like fluid .
retina contains the cels , called rods and cones . the area of the vision , called blind spot  and the area of the best vision , called yellow spot  are present in the present in the retina. The yellow spot is called macula or fovea

12.

If a farmer uses only inorganic fertilisers how may the soil organisms be affected?

Answer» What are Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers?Organic fertilizers are composed of natural ingredients from plants or animals. Examples include manure and plant parts such as leaves and peanut hulls. COMPOST, a blend of plant debris broken down by natural processes, is also considered a natural or organic fertilizer. Inorganic fertilizers, on the other hand, are manufactured from minerals or synthetic chemicals. Both organic and inorganic fertilizers supplement the soil and feed plants with nutrients. Macronutrients -- those nutrients that plants require in large amounts -- include nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium and are listed as percentages on the fertilizer bag.Pros and ConsThere are benefits and what some may consider disadvantages of organic and inorganic fertilizers. Deciding which kind to use may depend on your horticultural situation. According to North Carolina State University, organic matter in natural fertilizers promotes an environment conducive for earthworms and increases the capacity for holding water and nutrients. Organic fertilizers release nutrients slowly, relying on soil organisms to BREAK down organic matter. A slow-release scenario decreases the risk of nutrient leaching but takes time to supply nutrients to plants. Inorganic fertilizers contain a higher percentage of nutrients and provide them more quickly than organic fertilizers. This is a benefit for plants with a short life span, such as bedding plants, but the concentrated form increases the risk of burning the plant if applied incorrectly, and the quick-release of nutrients may result in soil leaching.Long-term EffectivenessResearch comparing organic and inorganic fertilizers provides compelling evidence that organic fertilizers bolster soil health over the long term. In a study conducted in SWEDEN over 32 years, scientists Artur Granstedt and Lars Kjellenberg REPORTED on the differences in soil structure and crop quality between an organic and inorganic system. They found that soil in the organic system had higher fertility, and organic crops had higher yields and starch content than the inorganic system. In contrast, long-term use of synthetic fertilizers depletes soil organisms of the organic matter they need, states the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association. Eventually, these organisms disappear in soils dependent on inorganic fertilizers.Integrated ApproachIt does not have to be either organic or inorganic fertilizer. An integrated approach blends the use of both. A study published in 2009 described the benefits of an integrated system on rice fields in India. The AUTHORS found that a combination of organic and synthetic fertilizers resulted in yields that increased over five years. They concluded that an integrated approach improved the capacity of the soil to supply nutrients. A blend of both organic and inorganic fertilizers may suit your landscape.
13.

what kinds of fertilisers gives you greater control over providing minerals for a crop?explain your answer.

Answer»

The WORDS “organic” or “natural” in this case SIMPLY means that the PRODUCT is only minimally processed, and the nutrients remain bound up in their natural forms, rather than being extracted and refined. In the case of FERTILIZER, “organic” does NOT refer to the standards of processing associated with food.Organic fertilizer is usually made from plant or animal waste or powdered minerals. Examples include manure and compost, as well as bone and cottonseed meal. They are usually sold as “soil conditioners” rather than as fertilizer, because the nutrient ratios are difficult to guarantee. Organic fertilizers may be processed in a factory, or, in the case of manure and compost, at a farm

What is blood pressure ? what is systolic and disytolic pressure ?

Answer»

When your hart beats, it pumps blood round your body to give it the energy and  oxygen  it needs.as the blood moves,it pushes  against the SIDES of the blood  vessels  . the STRENGTH  of this pushing is your blood pressure.if your blood pressure is  too  high it put's extra strain on your  arteries  and this may lead to heart attacks  and strokes.

1)systolic pressure  :-
when your heart beats it contracts and pushes blood through the arteries to the rest of your body this force creates  pressures on the arteries is called  systolic  pressure.
2) disytolic  pressure:-
the minimum level of  blood pressure MEASURED  between  contraction of the heart.  it may VARY with age ,gender, body WEIGHT, emotional  state , and other  factor.

What is the mystery beginds nazial lines?

Answer»

Still research is GOING on and there is no clear explanation for these lines.
The Nazca Lines are found in the desert near the town of Nazca in PERU. There are SEVERAL hundred Nazca line figures, some geometric shapes, others APPEARING as representations of animals and other creatures. Many explanations have been put forth since passengers in airplanes flying over the region first noticed the strange "runways" and art FORMS. Some have suggested they are just works of art, an ancient culture's homage to the beauty and diversity of nature. Others believe there was a more practical purpose, such as astronomical calendars or representations of constellations, or they were spiritually inspired as worship of deities. Others have suggested other worldly origins. In fact, the explanations of these amazing creations have become almost as creative as the Nazca lines themselves.

What are cilia and villi? What are their functions?

Answer»

Cilia
are tail-like PROJECTIONS found only in EUKARYOTIC cells (that is, the cells of animals). There are two types: motile (that is, mobile) and non-motile. The two FUNCTIONS of these types of projections are to either move through the cell or to act as sensory organisms. Along with flagella, these projections are part of a group of organelles (that is, cell parts) known as undulipodia

2  the villi play a role in digestion, they ALSO are essential for the absorption of DIGESTED nutrients. The cells of the villi and another part of the small intestine, known as the crypts, transport food from the digestive tract into the bloodstream, where they can be used by the body. The villi aid in absorption by increasing the surface area of the intestine and contain specialized cells which transport different types of nutrients into the blood.

what is the effect DNA copying, which is not perfectly accurate, on the reproduction? How does the amount of DNA remain constant though each new generation is a combination of DNA copies of two individuals?

Answer»

Before a cell divides, its nucleus must DIVIDE. But before that happens, the chromosomes must have become double. So the first stage is that DNA which the chromosomes CONTAIN must replicate , i.e. become double, by MAKING copies of itself. The 2 strands of the DNA double helix can separate, under the influence of special enzymes in the nucleus, but each half remains attached along its length, like the 2 sections of a zip, because the sides of the strands are strongly joined. Each strand then acts as a basis for rebuilding the missing other strand from which it has been separated. It is said that each strand forms a template on which it reforms its complementary strand. Enzymes within the nucleus match the appropriate base, which is already attached to strand side subunits, so that A fits against T, G against C, T against A and C against G, according to shape.Other possibilities are not allowed, so the copying process is accurate in the vast majority of cases. The result is that one double strand is converted into two identical double strands. It is interesting to note that each "new" double strand is in fact half composed of a section of the previous DNA molecule, together with a completely new section built up from INDIVIDUAL bases. Because of this, it is called semi-conservative replication.

Describe any 3 ways in which individuals with a particular trait may increase in population .

Answer»

Answer :-

First of all, what are traits ?

Ans - Traits can be defined as the BEHAVIOUR and RESPONSE of an organism towards its surroundings, it's feeding habits and it's habitat.

The 3 ways in which individuals with a particular trait may increase in POPULATION are as follows :-

  • The organisms have a better sort of adaptability to the environment in which they exist and are able to survive and reproduce.

  • The organisms are able to resist the diseases and remain healthy.

  • Geographical isolation of a group of organisms by various types of barriers (such as mountains, rivers, seas, ETC).Such a type of isolation leads to the isolation of reproductive practices within the organisms as a result of which, no gene flow occurs among the SEPARATED group of organisms.
