Why do vegetables release water when we add salt to it

Answer»

Here's your answer! ❤️

Why Do Vegetables release water when salt is added?

On adding salt, the external medium is made hypertonic, i.e., concentration of water is lowered as compared to the concentration of water inside the cell. THUS, water is released from the vegetables due to exosmosis (water molecules GOES out of the cell resulting in SHRINKAGE of cell).

How does contraction in uterus works

Answer»

Answer:

Your uterus is shaped LIKE a pear that is positioned upside down in your pelvis. The top of the uterus is called the fundus. The opening of the uterus to the vagina, called the cervix, is located at the "stem end."

how contractions work

The wall of your uterus is a muscle that grows and stretches as your baby grows. When it is TIME for your baby to be born, this muscle tightens rhythmically. This is called having contractions.

When labor starts, the contractions often feel like your baby is balling up. You may also feel pain on the front of your thighs.

Some women say contractions feel like menstrual or intestinal cramps. For others, it is MOSTLY a backache.

When your contractions are effective they thin out, or efface, the cervix. They also push your baby down against the cervix. This makes the cervix open, or dilate.

Effective contractions start at the top of the uterus and MOVE downward. You may feel this as the contraction starting at your back and coming AROUND to your front.

What is doble circulation how ot is helpful

Answer»

Answer:

EXPLANATION:

The majority of mammals (INCLUDING humans) utilize a double circulatory system. This MEANS we have two loops in our body in which blood CIRCULATES. One is oxygenated, meaning oxygen rich, and the other is deoxygenated, which means it has LITTLE to no oxygen, but a lot of carbon dioxide.

Double circulatory systems are important because they ensure that we are giving our tissues and muscles blood full of oxygen, instead of a mixture of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. While it may take a bit more energy than a single circulatory system, this system is much more efficient.

Advantage of double circulation

Double blood circulation helps to prevent mixing of oxygenated and de            -oxygenated blood with each other.

What is nutrition. Explain 2 types of major nutrition?

Answer»

Answer:

Explanation:

The process of taking in food and using it for growth, metabolism, and repair. Nutritional STAGES are ingestion, digestion, absorption, TRANSPORT, assimilation, and excretion. A nourishing substance, such as nutritional solutions delivered to hospitalized patients via an IV or IG tube.

*Holozoic mode of NUTRITION is the process in which an organism takes in whole food. The food INGESTED undergoes digestion, absorption and assimilation. e.g. small organisms like amoeba large organisms like HUMAN beings.

*Parasitic mode of nutrition is the process in which organism derives its nourishment from host organisms either in liquid form or nutrient form. e.g. Taenia solium is the tape worm living in human intestine.

*Saprophytic mode of nutrition is the process in which organism derives its nourishment from dead and decaying matter. e.g. Fungi are heterotrophs that acquire their nutrients from dead and decaying matter by absorption.

PBR322 cloning vector characteristics ?

Answer»

hey mate...

here is your answer...

Plasmid pBR322 has been completely sequenced. It characterizes pBR322 in terms of its restriction sites i.e. exact length of every fragment can be calculated. These fragments can serve as DNA markers for sizing any other DNA.It can be purified with ease and so can the recombinant DNA molecules constituted within it.

There are over 40 enzymes with unique cleavage sites on the pBR322 genome. The target sites of 11 of these enzymes lie within the TcR gene, and there are sites for a further two within the promoter of that gene. There are unique sites for six enzymes within the ApR gene. Cloning can be done  in pBR322 with the aid of any one of those 19 enzymes will result in insertional inactivation of either the ApR or the TcR markers. However, cloning in the other unique sites does not permit the easy selection of recombinants, because neither of the antibiotic resistance determinants is inactivated.

One of the advantages of pBR322 is that it has a high copy number. Thus an E.coli culture provies a good yield of recombinant pBR322 molecule.

Transformants are selected on the basis of their Ap resistance and then replica-plated on to Tc-containing media to identify those that are TcS.  Transformants are selected on rich MEDIUM containing soluble starch and Tc. When colonized plates are flooded with an indicator solution of iodine and penicillin, â-lactamase-producing (ApR) colonies clear the indicator solution whereas ApS colonies do not. Plasmid pBR322 has been a widely used cloning vehicle. The popularity of pBR322 is a direct result of the availability of an extensive body of information on its structure and FUNCTION. This in turn is increased with each new study.

pBR322 DNA is a commonly used plasmid cloning vector in E. coli.

The molecule is a double-stranded circle 4,361* base pairs in length.

pBR322 contains the genes for resistance to ampicillin and TETRACYCLINE, and can be amplified with chloramphenicol.

What is the character of cryptogam

Answer»

Answer:

Explanation:

The process of classifying living things into GROUPS is called taxonomy, but sometimes it isn't CLEAR how each organism should be classified. The cryptogams are an example of a group that is impossible to squish into a single taxonomic category.

As a group, cryptogams are ''LOWER plants'' that use SPORES to reproduce. They don't have the structures we normally associate with plants, like true stems, ROOTS, leaves, flowers, or seeds, and their reproductive parts are hidden, so we call them ''plant-like'' organisms. They share some characteristics with plants, yet they are still different enough to not fall into the same group as plants.

Some interesting facts on animal nutrition

Answer»

Answer:

hey these are from google

  • More than 3.1 billion people depend on fish for at least 20% of their total animal protein intake, and a further 1.3 billion people for 15% of animal protein intake.
  • Fish consumption has increased from 9 kg per capita in 1961 to approximately 20 kg per capita today and is expected to reach 21.5 kg by 2024.
  • The most caught species at global level is the Peruvian anchoveta - a large percentage of which ends up as fishmeal and fish oil. It is followed by Alaska pollock, skipjack tuna, Atlantic herring and chub mackerel.
  • Often undervalued parts of the fish, like the head, viscera, and back-bones make up 30-70% of fish and are especially high in micronutrients.
  • Seafood is in practice the only natural source of iodine. This crucial nutrient serves several PURPOSES like aiding thyroid function. It is also essential for the neurodevelopment of children.
  • Tuna bones used for fish powder can enrich TRADITIONAL diets like maize flower with omega-3 fatty acids, VITAMINS and minerals such as iron, zinc and calcium.
  • Gaining popularity in African countries like Uganda, seafood powders made from by-products or lake sardines provide missing nutrients to the PRIMARILY grain or starch-based diets of the region.
  • Seafood products are among the most widely traded food commodities – totaling around US$ 145 billion per year.
  • 35% of fish and seafood is lost or wasted – almost double the figures for losses for meat products.
  • 8% of fish caught globally is thrown back into the sea. In most cases they are DEAD, drying or badly damaged.

The organic theory: according to this theory, society is an organism. Just as an organism is an organic unity of interdependent organs, so also society is an organism of interdependent individuals. Both cannot exist apart from each other.3. The group mind theory: according to this theory, man is a social being. The social self or ideal self can be realized through society. So, man is inconceivable apart from society. Idealist philosophers advocate this theory. besides elaborating on these three theories we will discuss contemporary debate on the contentious issue of the relationship between the society and the individual and their relative importance.
