Impact of predator signals on the stability of a predator--prey system: a {z}-control approach |
Answer» te , In contrast to long STANDING view on predator–prey interactions that predators have only direct effect on prey by killing, recent field experimentation on terrestrial vertebrates showed that indirect effect of predators’ fear may alter the behavioral changes on prey, INCLUDING foraging and reproduction. Usually, prey perceive the signals from predators (chemical and/or vocal cues) and change their life-history and behavior to reduce the probability of being killed. Recently, Wang et al. (J Math Biol 73:1179–1204, 2016) proposed and analyzed a predator–prey model by considering the fear effect on prey population. They concluded that the model DYNAMICS may exhibit both supercritical and SUBCRITICAL Hopf bifurcation, while the classical predator–prey model exhibits only supercritical Hopf bifurcation. The cost of fear on prey may dramatically reduce foraging and reproduction, which may change the ecosystem stability. In the present investigation, we explore the possible applications of fear in prey due to predators’ signals and error based Z-control mechanism by manipulating the abundance of predator population. Our results suggest that by manipulating or controlling the abundance of predator one can achieve a desired prey population density. We also observe that Z-control mechanism has the property to PRODUCE a stable steady-state or a stable limit cycle by excluding the bi-stability situation as observed by Wang et al. We perform extensive numerical simulations to illustrate our analytical findings. I HOPE THESE HELP YOU PLZ MARK AS BRAINLIEST |

What is transpiration in plants? |
Answer» ration is the process of water movement through a plant and its EVAPORATION from aerial parts, such as leaves, STEMS and flowers. Water is NECESSARY for plants but only a small amount of water TAKEN up by the roots is used for growth and metabolism. The remaining 97–99.5% is lost by transpiration and guttation. In short you can saytranspiration is the process of losing water from the surface of leaves through the stomatal PORES. |

How are fats digested in our bodies ?where does this process take place |
Answer» e here's your ANSWER Ans.Fats are present in the form of large globules in the SMALL intestine. The small intestine receives the secretions from the LIVER and the pancreas. The bile salts (from the liver) break down the large fat globules into smaller globules so that the pancreatic enzyme lipase can easily ACT on them. This is referred to as emulsification of fats. This process takes place in the small intestine.Hope this MAY help you........ |

What are the parameters used to measure growth in plants? |
Answer» ers used to measure growth in plants ...1)Set the RULER at the BASE of the plant.Smaller plants can be measured with a ruler, while taller plants may require a measuring tape, yardstick, or meter stick. Make sure that the ruler begins at zero on the bottom. If you are measuring a plant in a pot, the ruler should begin at ground level.2)Record the height of the plant. You will want to measure the plant from its base to its highest point. Write this down in a chart with both the DATE and the height recorded. Repeat every two to three days.3)Calculate the average using the growth rate formula. You can see the average daily growth rate by taking the change in size and dividing it by the amount of time it has been growing. The equation for the growth rate formula is {\frac {(S2-S1)}{T}}where S1=first measurement, S2=second measurement, and T equals the number of days between each. This is an EXTREMELY general figure. Plant growth rate is extremely fluid and can be subject to major variations day by day. Currently, there is no way to accurately predict exact daily growth rate without the use of sophisticated laboratory equipment.Hope it HELPS u mate!!!! |

A risk assessment of topical tretinoin as a potential human developmental toxin based on animal and comparative human data |
Answer» UND: Although topically applied all-trans-retinoic acid (tretinoin) undergoes MINIMAL absorption and adds negligibly to normal ENDOGENOUS levels, its safety in humans is occasionally QUESTIONED because oral ingestion of retinoids at therapeutic levels is KNOWN to entail teratogenic risks. OBJECTIVE: To assess the actual potential for developmental toxicity from treatment with topical tretinoin. METHODS: Risk assessments were conducted on four known human developmental toxicants (valproic acid, methotrexate, thalidomide, and isotretinoin) and a potential developmental toxicant (acetylsalicylic acid). The margin of safety for each chemical was calculated from the ratio of animal no-observed adverse effect levels to human lowest-observed adverse effect levels or ESTIMATED exposure doses. RESULTS: The derived safety margin of more than 100 for topical tretinoin (with 2% absorption) contrasted sharply with the near unity values for valproic acid, methotrexate, thalidomide, and isotretinoin and was larger than that for acetylsalicylic acid. CONCLUSION: These data support other epidemiologic and animal data that topical tretinoin is not a potential human developmental toxicant. |

Sex determination in snail is not genetic .prove |
Answer» e here is your answer.Evolutionary maintenance of genetic sex-ratio variation is enigmatic since genes for biased sex ratios are disadvantageous in finite populations (the "Verner effect"). However, such variation could be maintained if a small number of nuclear sex-determining genes were responsible, although this has not been fully demonstrated experimentally. Brood sex ratios of the freshwater snail Pomacea canaliculata are highly variable among PARENTS, but population sex ratios are near unity. In this study, the effect of each parent on the brood sex ratio was investigated by exchanging partners among mating pairs. There were POSITIVE correlations between sex ratios of half-sib broods of the common mother (r = 0.42) or of the common father (r = 0.47). Moreover, the CORRELATION between full-sib broods was very high (r = 0.92). Thus, both parents CONTRIBUTED equally to the sex-ratio variation, which indicates that nuclear genes are involved and their effects are additive. Since the half-sib correlations were much stronger than the parent-offspring regressions previously obtained, the variation was caused by ZYGOTIC sex-determining genes rather than by parental sex-ratio genes. The number of relevant genes appears to be small.thank you.plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz mark my answer as brainliest.plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz follow me. |
