Hii....Ladies and mentalman??anyone tell me what was accumulation of variation during reproduction?

Answer» All round us we see different organisms from the lowest forms to the highest. Species differ from each other. However, the variation we focus relates to the differences among individuals of a species. No two individuals are identical to each other. While we acquire a common body design, subtle changes are also inherited. Asexual reproduction produces identical offspring called clones. However, clones also differ due to small inaccuracies in DNA copying. If the DNA for the offspring comes from two parents, the differences will be more pronounced. We will soon find out why. What happens when the next generation produces offspring? These earlier differences will pass on to the next generation\'s offspring as well as the new ones they inherit from their parents.occurence of diversity over succeeding generationsDo all these variations in individuals have the same chances of surviving differences in environmental factors like food, temperature, habitat change etc.? Quite evidently, different variations will give different advantages or disadvantages to individuals. Genetic changes that are heritable and environmental factors over time determine the variants that survive and those that do not.

What is the strature of graphite?

Answer» Structure of graphite: In graphite each carbon atom is covalently bonded to only three neighbouring carbon atoms. The uniplanar layers of six-carbon atoms hexagonallyarranged in a benzene ring are held in the crystal by van der Waals’ forces (Fig. 4.3). Because of large distances between two successive layers, there is no possibility of bond formation between carbon atoms lying in opposite layers. Thus the fourth valency in carbon atoms remains free. This causes easy flow of electrons through graphite which thus acts as a good conductor of electricity. The hexagon in graphite is regular, C—C bond length being 1.92 Å The distance between planes is 3.9 Å.Properties: Chemically graphite is more reactive than diamond. It burns in air at 690°C to carbon dioxide. It is a good conductor of electricity and heat.Uses: It is used for electrodes, lead pencils, for making crucibles, for casting of metals.
