Introduction of refrection

Answer» Refraction is the bending of light when light rays pass from one medium to another medium. (it also happens with sound, water and other waves as it passes from one transparent substance into another). This bending by refraction makes it possible for us to have lenses, magnifying glasses, prisms and rainbows.

Why carbon is covalent bond?

Answer» Carbon has 4 electrons in its outermost shell and each covalent bond requires a donation of 1 electron, per atom, to the bond, carbon has exactly four bonds to make, and is only stable if all 4 of these bonds are used. This same rule applies to all of the atoms in the second row of the periodic table
37654.

Why carbon show catenation property?

Answer» The ability of an element to catenate is primarily based on the bond energy of the element to itself, which decreases with more diffuse orbitals (those with higher azimuthal quantum number) overlapping to form the bond. Carbon, with the least diffuse valence shell p orbital is capable of forming longer p-p sigma bonded chains of atoms than heavier elements which bond via higher valence shell orbitals. Catenation ability is also influenced by a range of steric and electronic factors, including the electronegativity of the element in question, the molecular orbital hybridization and the ability to form different kinds of covalent bonds. For carbon, the sigma overlap between adjacent atoms is sufficiently strong that perfectly stable chains can be formed.

What are pure alcohol

Answer» Pure Alcohol: Ethanol (pure alcohol) is a hydrophilic organic solvent, i.e. it mixes readily with water and various water solutions like sugar syrup, but it will not mix directly with sugar. This statement applies to 95% pure drinking quality alcohol. The maximum strength of alcohol that can be produced by the distillation process alone is 97.2% alcohol. The remaining 2.8% water cannot be separated from alcohol as it forms with alcohol as an azeotrope. An azeotrope is a mixture of two or more liquids in such a ratio that its composition cannot be changed by simple distillation. This occurs because when an azeotrope is boiled, the resulting vapor has the same ratio of constituents as the original mixture.

37658.

Explain the working of motor ?

Answer» The electric motor is a device which converts electrical energy to mechanical energy.Working of electric motor mainly depends upon the interaction of magnetic field with current.Working of DC Motor :Working principle of DC Motor mainly depends upon Fleming Left Hand rule. In a basic DC motor, an armature is placed in between magnetic poles. If the armature winding is supplied by an external DC source, current starts flowing through the armature conductors. As the conductors are carrying current inside a magnetic field, they will experience a force which tends to rotate the armature. Suppose armature conductors under N poles of the field magnet, are carrying current downwards (crosses) and those under S poles are carrying current upwards (dots).By applying Fleming’s Left hand Rule, the direction of force F, experienced by the conductor under N poles and the force experienced by the conductors under S-poles can be determined. It is found that at any instant the forces experienced by the conductors are in such a direction that they tend to rotate the armature. Again, due this rotation the conductors under N-poles come under S-pole and the conductors under S-poles come under N-pole. While the conductors go form N-poles to S-pole and S-poles to N-pole, the direction of current through them, is reversed by means of commutator. Due to this reversal of current, all the conductors come under N-poles carry current in downward direction and all the conductors come under S-poles carry current in upward direction. Hence, every conductor comes under N-pole experiences force in same direction and same is true for the conductors come under S-poles. This phenomenon helps to develop continuous and unidirectional torque.

Define implantation and placenta

Answer» Implantation refers specifically to the attachment of the fertilized egg to the uterine lining, which occurs approximately 6 or 7 days after conception (fertilization).Implantation is when the fertilized egg enters the endometriosis, or uterine lining, and burrows into it in order to begin cell division.\xa0Placentas is a flattened circular organ in the uterus of pregnant eutherian mammals, nourishing and maintaining the fetus through the umbilical cord.

What is speculations

Answer» Speculation involves trading a financial instrument involving high risk, in expectation of significant returns. The motive is to take maximum advantage from fluctuations in the market. Speculators are prevalent in the markets where price movements of securities are highly frequent and volatile.
